When I hear this, I can't decide if Dr. Andonut is super zen and chill, or if it reflects the very distant, almost cold and lonely relationship he has with Jeff when we first meet him in Winters...
I remember reading the Gamepro reciew of earthbound, and the reviewer said he didn't like the music, saying "the music just sits there". He didn't get it, man. The music is bonkers radballs, like floating through a exploding nebula.
I rented Earthbound from my local video store in 1995, when I was 5, because the box was bigger than the rest and I thought that was cool. When I first turned it on and loaded the save it was Jeff on the 2nd floor of Andonuts lab. For some reason I've never forgotten that. I've made a lot of good memories with friends because of this game so it's very close to me. Thanks for the dope track.
This will sound weird but this theme reminds me of the time I was about to buy my first house, it was a stressful time for me because I was trying so hard to get the money to pay the deposit in order to apply to my bank's loan. And this masterpiece was the only thing that relaxed me in those stressful times. I have my house now, and I am here listening to this again, to remind me that I can do anything if I put my heart on it. Thanks for reading.
I'm to busy to play alot of these old games through to completion but in my worst stress these are some of the only tracks that can really help me get through. This does not sound weird at all I'd say your in good company!
My favorite game of all time. I remember first getting to the part of the game around 1996, and thinking it was cool to have a scene where a father and son reunited. Now here we are in 2024, and I wish that my dad was still here.
I have entered a firm agreement with the appreciative messages of this digital feedback, as I am receiving similar sensations to my primary auditory cortex as well.
"Didactically speaking, seminal evidence seems to explicate the fact that your repudiation of entropy supports my theory of space-time synthesis. Of this, I am irrefutably confident."
Unrelated to Earthbound, this gives me nostalgia. When I’d stay over at my grandparent’s house as a kid, my grandmother would play this collection of relaxing meditation music on her CD player as we went to bed. This gives me those same vibes, and brings me back to that long lost comfort of sleeping in that soft bed, feeling safe and loved. It seemed so inconsequential then, but now it means so much.
The solution is a paradox. The path to peace, is the extinction of humans. But humans are designed to live, stubbornly. We want peace, but the way to achieve that, betrays why we exist. Which is to live. We need to forget about peace, and focus on singularity, similarity. Compromise, is not peaceful, but it's necessary.
@@lessermook7608 But What if there was a way to find peace without nonexistence, beauty for our ashes, a Resolution without Sacrifice? Empty your brain & clear your head, Seriously! The words of the Teacher, a son of David, king in Jerusalem: “Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher. “Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless.” What do people gain from all their labors at which they toil under the sun? Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever. The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises. The wind blows to the south and turns to the north; round and round it goes, ever returning on its course. All streams flow into the sea, yet the sea is never full. To the place the streams come from, there they return again. All things are wearisome, more than one can say. The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear its fill of hearing. What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which one can say, “Look! This is something new?” It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time. No one remembers the former generations, and even those yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow them. Wisdom Is Meaningless I, the Teacher, was king over Israel in Jerusalem. I applied my mind to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under the heavens. What a heavy burden God has laid on mankind! I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind. What is crooked cannot be straightened; what is lacking cannot be counted. I said to myself, “Look, I have increased in wisdom more than anyone who has ruled over Jerusalem before me; I have experienced much of wisdom and knowledge.” Then I applied myself to the understanding of wisdom, and also of madness and folly, but I learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind. For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief. Not only was the Teacher wise, but he also imparted knowledge to the people. He pondered and searched out and set in order many proverbs. The Teacher searched to find just the right words, and what he wrote was upright and true. The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails-given by one shepherd. Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them. Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body. Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: *Fear God and keep his commandments,* *for this is the duty of all mankind.* *For God will bring every deed into judgment,* *including every hidden thing,* *whether it is good or evil.* _For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life._ *For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.* _Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son._ This is the verdict: *Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.* *Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.* *But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.* *For Reference:* Ecclesiastes 1 & 12: 9-14 (The Gospel of) John 3: 16-20
Yeah this video got me through some real tough times. The only thing on my mind was my loneliness and how empty I felt without accomplishing anything. But about 3 years later, I'm doing so much better. And I'm mostly happy. This song definitely reminds me of all that. And it can only go up from here, because life doesn't HAVE a peak. Your possibilities in life are nearly endless so long as you're alive. Hope everyone is well. Thanks for reading.
Normally I'm not a huge fan of remixes for whatever reason, but this is honestly one of the best songs I've ever heard. It takes everything good about the original piece and modernizes it incredibly well. If there were an Earthbound HD, this would for sure be in it.
99% of the time the tone & vibe is changed to make it "better" and everything about the tune is lost. Much of the genius and uniqueness of VGM is derived from the technical limitations. This, however, amplifies the simplistic vibes in perfect form. It is elevated to another level without the pollutions of a remixer that tries to draw attention to themselves. So many people lack time to take a rest, they're stressed out either from outside, or worse, from within.
