She has an awesome voice, classical jazzy style. I knew this was a good audition right away because I immediately thought "I want to sing this song".
It's not a great audition song; it does not do her voice justice. This song is very over used because of the emotional appeal behind it , but there is no way to sing it with out coming out flat
If anything, Lara was trying a little too hard to impress! She has such a natural talent and a wonderfully expressive tone I don't believe she really needed to attempt so many runs, but clearly she managed to convince Tom. I found her vibrato a little overplayed, a wee bit Club Karaoke, and I'm sure she could get that under control with a bit of expert advice. A great performance and a really great addition to the show.

Her audition sounds lounge-y which is a welcome change on the show.
Potential here. She's belting like she's on Broadway, but that song is more a smoky club song. With Tom, she has the best chance to develop.

I think she has an incredible voice. It's just she tried to change the song too much to make it her own and at the end it didn't fit her voice style. The whole time I was like NO WHAT ARE YOU DOING!

Crippled_Clay I think that’s how all the judges felt too haha. You could tell they all wanted to push the button but were just waiting for one more thing and she never gave it to them

So beautiful. Lovely girl and a big, big, beautiful voice. I love this song and I felt every moment of this performance. So glad that Tom turned for her. Lara deserves the chance to show the world what she can do.
She had a good voice but she was trying way too hard and it sort of took the meaning out of the song.

No I think she was attempting to do it in a jazz style, at the beginning when listening I maybe would have agreed with you but by the end I could see that she was a strong singer singing in a jazz/soul style.

I think her soul/jazz rendition tells the story from the perspective of an older woman who has accepted her fate rather than a hopeful, niave teeneger like Rizzo.

I think it's appalling that the music industry judged her based on her size when she tried to make it earlier! I think she has a lovely voice, and I loved this performance. I'm so glad she got through, especially with Team Tom. Well done! :)
Its not just her size. Look at Adele. Its her size plus race. British music industry is prejudiced against black artists..they want whites to sing with 'black' voices.

That is the most out of sync Mexican Wave I have ever seen.
The reason almost know one turned around is because this version totally killed the vibe of the song. It's a Broadway and/or showtunes song, it's supposed to have feeling but not over the top yelling

Jealously is a ugly word & somehow those who choose to make negative comments seem to fit da bill.
Some contestants come onda show to get 1 little producer to hear their crooning & that's it.
At least Lara put some soul into her song & knows how to hold her notes,unlike some of them with their howling like the wind vocals
IS the editor for these videos different for each video? Seriously atleast show the reactions/turning for 5 seconds after it, it's not like it cost $ for each second.

The begging was promising but then she just blew it with all of the rifs. Way to many and she over-sang. I could just feel the judges cringe because they knew she had a good voice.
Too many unnecessary runs, but I guess that's what it takes to get noticed by those untalented judges. She has more talent in one toe than those judges in all their bodies.
Right at the end you could see her trying so hard to sway the judges. Definitely tried to hard, she may have done better if she'd just been herself entirely without the note-changing and such

Beautiful voice, but two things bring her down. She tries too hard for effect, taking the pathos out of it. The other thing is that she seems completely unable to hold a note true and clear without vibrato. The chords and fhord progressions need that solid sound to revolve around. Listen to the way Kate Hudson did it on Glee and you will hear what I mean.
honestly she chose the wrong song, she had to change it far too much just to show off her voice when she could have easily gone for a different song that would have worked for what she was trying to achieve. the end result was a mess of vocal scales that ruined such a treasured (or at least to me it is) song.

She is near-flawless that I can tell and she sounds great, but in that way that we have heard so many times before. She is not setting herself up to be relevant with this song choice, ironic song title notwithstanding. I feel that I like nothing today, but I've gotta be honest.
