Squiggleblorg EL works really well once you get going. Like in that EL makes the Minimus space program possible. If you build a full EL base, with an Ore converter (and some KAS for connections) makes a free campaign. It's fun once you get good with it.

All in all... a pretty complete alternative. I like it. Have you discovered a limit to how large those DIY kits can be? Like, could you build a zeppelin complete with hangars and enough buoyancy to float on Eve with a single kit? Or one of those huge rockets made from the ol' B9 super-sized parts?
I just can not wait until you get around to making your own modded KSP and doing a lets play on it. As far as I know you know the most about mods, or at least experienced more of them then anyone else. You'd pick some great mods for your LP
well technically there are attachment nodes on the back and top so you could attach a drill to the back and a converter on the top. it would look weird but would work.
KottabosGames yeah, making this thing self-sustainable is rather hard. I always had a problem with docking land vehicles because of different constructions and drive heights. But you could make a large stable buffer tanker with different docking ports on different heights. This will even look cool.

The reason why you 'oddly' can have 300m of space between you and your construction kit is because....... you might want to build a 500m "thing" and thus avoid clipping your truck into what you're constructing (since 250m to every side still gives you 50m space from it).
What I don't like about this mod is you have to send a kit from kerbin. It defeats the purpose of setting up colonies when they will never be self-sufficient or able to make tings on their own without first getting something from Kerbin.

now amazing mod but a akward thing happened yesterday:i had,LOADS of mods installed and when i started KSP my pc crashed XD.deleted all mods and put needed in.
i downloaded this mod and ever since then my KSP has been crashing on the loading screen when i start the game, i even removed the mod from the files and also tried diffirent versions, my last idea was remove the mods that made it crash in other versions and still no luck, if anyone can help please do.

there is some resemblance to the ground trucks but honestly I don't think enough to be near stock alike, at least in my opinion

With a little tweaking, Squad could definitely implement this into the game. I am hugely impressed with the concept and functionality.

The idea of launching something from Kerbin is so wrongheaded, it's amazing. The idea of choosing in VAB/SPH is in a similar line of insanity.

I haven't found a limit yet, though the largest thing I've made so far was a prefab base ... it was about 60 parts or so

KH stands for Kerbalhours. It's the time it would take 1 Kerbal to make it, any more lessen the time by that degree.

At least one upward facing docking port on your base modules and vehicles makes it a great landing spot for skycranes with cargo.
