HOGASH indeed. Even I feel so drowned into it.. I'm not a nord by race. Neither I'm European but don't know why I feel so much connected to them. Why I'm so much into folk, Viking and Pagan Metal.... Ahhh I don't have words to express my feelings for all those magnificent folk Viking metal bands and specially Falkenbach whose I guess one man band. And doing such a splendid job. Falkenbach!!! You will be remembered always
This is a very interesting track in terms of genre. The minimal guitar line and slow drums put a huge emphasis on his vocals, which are entirely clean. Ballsy move for a band with Black Metal elements as strong as Falkenbach's. Fucking impressive vocal performance... manages to pull it off to perfection. Would expect no less from one of the pioneers of viking metal.
In winter's silent white In spring's golden light In autumn's bloody red, autumn's bloody red In winter's silent white In spring's golden light In autumn's bloody red, autumn's bloody red While winter's silent white and while spring's golden sunlight The old wanderer walks, forevermore and evermore The old wanderer walks while autumn's red, forevermore, evermore In winter's silent white In spring's golden light In autumn's bloody red, autumn's bloody red While winter's silent white and while spring's golden sunlight The old wanderer walks, forevermore and evermore The old wanderer walks while autumn's red, forevermore, evermore..
I wouldn't translate "waagt" as "walks" though, might be a wrong thing, but when I think of it, it means more like "trods" or "drags on" as in, having a hard time to walk, due to harshness of terrain, that's what it means in Old Dutch anyway, this sounds like a combination of High German and Old Dutch with a bit of southernish vowel speaking in it, wouldn't be surprised if alot of people in the Rheinland and the Ruhr parts of Germany recognized what this song said.

Gustavo Osorio Por que los hispanos no proveneis de una cultura germanica como Noruega, Dinamarca o Alemania, entonces no teneis esa naturaleza musical. Tristemente en America del Sur y sur de España no se tiene tanta pasion o respeto por este tipo de música.
veyron ss I heard it is an ancient Nordic language. Swedish, norwegian, german and icelandic in one (might be dannish and dutch too not sure). I'm Swedish myself and I understand some of the words like "i vinters stiltje av is".
+Senior Porky It is definitely not bulgarian, or spanish. Vratyas Vakyas mentioned in a rare interview once that it is a dialect that his family spoke, closely related to Dutch. Many of the words and pronuncations of them are also indicative of this language and Dutch sharing common roots. I am also pretty sure that Vratyas would not make music in non germanic languages :)
+Veroxzes It's definitely not Dutch. I am from the Netherlands myself. Although the language reminds me a little bit of the Frisian language. I would say an old version of Danish or German?

Which language is this? I thought Althochdeutsch first, but the similarities to modern northern languages are to big. But it's not Icelandic, or am i wrong?
So my guess with "Althochdeutsch" (old high german) was quite right. Learned just today, that there were many different dialects, which would explain my insecureness about this . Thanks :)
Isn't it old saxon? Long, drawn out vowels like in Dutch and frisian, hv- words and phrasings like in scandi languages, v pronounced as f like in modern german. Saxony would have been right in the intersection between all thee.
This must be Falkenbach's best song. Good to hear that someone keeps old Germanic dialects alive through art.
one of the best songs with Havamal
The best song ever... for eternity.... reminds me of places I love, people I love and life in general... thank you, Falchenbach...
I could hear this song 1000 times ❤
I am proud of the fact that there are people who express a passion for this cult with a music so evocative and perfect

***** ASA can with a small possibility also mean the Æsir. from the norse mythology. but i doubt thats what this album is about :P
***** Because, the word ASATRU means faith in the Æsir gods,.
***** I believe i don't get your point there.
Curiously the word "asa" in portuguese language means "wing"
