NSIB Launches Investigation Into Boat Accident Following Junior Pope's Death

The Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau has launched an investigation into the fatal boat accident on the Anam River in Anambra State on Wednesday.
In a statement by the Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Bimbo Oladeji, the investigation will involve examination of the wreckage, interviews with surviving crew members, and eyewitnesses, review of operational procedures for the commercial speed boat among others.
The NSIB says it will collaborate with relevant authorities, including the Marine Police section of the Anambra State Police Command, maritime authorities, and industry experts during the investigation.
Four persons were killed in the boat accident including Nollywood actor Paul Odonwodo and three others.

My condolences & prayers to the Pope family & their true friends! An investigation, an autopsy should definitely be done!
A law should be passed otherwise fined or legal process ensue, life jackets should be mandatory & safety kits must be on each boat! Each boat needs to be renovated to a legal accept & painted. Poverty is no excuse, unless it can be proven there's a life emergency from point A to point B! We all need to make better & healthier life decisions!!!!! 1 ounce of prevention is worth hopefully a life of cure, care & safety, b4 taking these foolish unnecessary chances!
