In this episode of the Desire To Trade Podcast, I sit down with Courtney Smith, a professional trader with over 50 years of experience in the markets.
Courtney was joining me from his hotel room in Dubai. He is the world’s most sought after investment trainer and has trained over 10,000 students.
He is also the author of 10 investment books and produces a 5 star rated podcast. He was the treasurer of a Swiss bank, head of global derivatives for a major French bank, and head of research for two American brokers. He has been the CEO of two brokerage houses.

Golden advice!
I'm just an order taker for the technique
Courtney is the man! My dad took me to a trading seminar he hosted in Sydney Australia around 3 years ago. He had a free spare ticket and I thought it was just going to be a weekend bonding experience with my old man, but it changed my life. I was financially illiterate when I walked in that room, and when I walked out I became a trader and never looked back! I became obsessed with the markets and owe a huge portion of my success since then to that seminar. Courtney is the real deal, phenomenal teacher and an even better trader. So grateful to have been initiated by him. Thanks for sharing this podcast Etienne, very cool stuff.

Refreshing (ages I saw a piece on Fundamentals). Courtney Smith's prescription of humbleness appears to be the key to success. His citation of big boy approach to adjusting position is inspirational. Interviewer has done a good job.

I agree with him when he said the psychology of the trader is the hardest part.
Today, 28 Feb 2020,
I sold GBP USd at 1.2860. market dropped 110 pips. I refused to close the trade thinking that this could turn out into a 500 pip trade and shortly thereafter, the pound started appreciating and I ended up closing the trade with a profit of 55 pips.
This is umpteenth time that this has happened.
