    Wonderful interview. I've had my challenges with hand problems over the years but presently I feel lucky to be able to play the best I ever have in the fingerstyle steel string area. I know when I'm experiencing issues these days and can quickly react and adjust.

    What an engaging and insightful interview, Antigoni is a tour de force and her courage in sharing her personal journey with focal dystonia is not only commendable but also a testament to the strength of the human spirit. It takes immense bravery to open up about such a challenging and deeply personal experience and Antigoni's honesty is both refreshing and empowering. Thank you Rosie for creating the space that Antigoni needed to share her story and kudos to Antigoni Goni for sharing with such grace and vulnerability.
    This interview is a testament to the fact that even in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges, there is always room for hope, healing, and the pursuit of one's true calling. Let this be an inspiration to all who watch, reminding us that no obstacle is too great to overcome with resilience, determination, and the support of a caring community. Thank you both and looking forward to the next episodes, when can we expect them?

    A most welcome return, and a great 1st guest, AG’s Hymn to the Muse is one of my desert island discs. As always, an insightful program, Kudos for the respect you showed with AGs discussion of an obviously painful issue for her, so glad she’s past it. I look forward to the next installment.

    Loved this episode! Tendonitis was actually a huge part of the reason I ended up giving up guitar, have always wondered what life would have been like if I had caught the symptoms earlier. Really happy to hear that Antigoni stuck with it and came out on top, I never knew she had had such an injury, will definitely be checking out her album, thanks Rosie

      What were your symptoms if I can ask, and did you see a doctor before deciding to quit? I've been wondering whether or not I should see a doctor because I do feel some pain, I'm just not sure I want to visit someone who is probably going to tell me I should just stop playing...

    @RosieBennetGuitar I really love your podcasts. You don't have to be an expert as a videographer or sound engineer... The way we really learn deeply is just to do the things. Obviously education make this travel short but you miss many things in the path. You are just natural and you let your guest to open his/her heart and the conversation just goes like the water in a stream...and don't worry about your Spanish pronunciation would be the same for me to speak perfectly your language...I live your voice your look your smile... You just transmit calm, peace it is very healthy to listen to you. Thanks for your nice and interesting interviews as well as your shorts videos. You have fan from this side of the world... Really enjoyed the episode of Fretnot, happy its back :) injuries are scary, any advice for someone who feels pain when playing? I'm not sure whether its just because I don't practice enough (usually a few hours every week) or if its something serious. Thank you for the effort put into this episode, will it be on spotify?

    • @RosieBennetGuitar
      @RosieBennetGuitar  Рік тому +2

      Thanks so much for your support! Injuries Are scary, but they aren't always the end, I think that's what made this conversation so interesting and special for me. Have you been to see somebody about the pain? Obviously just comment to comment it's difficult to get a grasp on what's going on, but generally I'd say watch out for the difference between mechanical pain (sort of within the joints), superficial pain (pain on the fingertips, on the outsides of the body) and body fatigue, when/if you seek medical advice it's always useful to have thought a bit about those distinctions - feel free to drop me an email or dm on instagram if you want to talk a bit more in depth!

      thanks for replying! I just feel really tired playing, like when I've been playing for about 20 minutes I feel pain generally in the body, maybe its just not for me! I've booked to see a physiotherapist in the next month tho, so I'll see what they say @@susannemexico

      @@RosieBennetGuitar fascia is a matrix of collagen between skin, muscles, and bones. Tension and other issues may result in “knots” in the fascia, which in turn impedes movement, getting in the way of proper technique. Solutions always involve movement, and include massage, yoga, acupuncture, and cupping (these two have been applied in the most common places for the knots, which are called sometimes “chacra” points, but they are the most common places for the knots). Michael Phelps had a team that applied cupping therapy during his participations in the Olympics. I've been trying several of these techniques, and feel like I lost some years, I feel rejuvenated! And some aspects of the technique are only possible after I did myofascial release to heal movement restriction on my left shoulder.

    Beautifull. And well done technically, both audio and picture are perfect. For me the microphones should not be that visually prominent, nor hide a part of face. You know, like in many video podcasts you see a big fancy microphone and a small face somewhere behind it, that is sin. Just my point of view, not a real problem. It was a little disturbing in the Brian May interview, wich brought me here. That one was awsome too. Thank you. Good luck.

    When I saw it, I thought it was Badi Assad, a Brazilian musician. Even in terms of playing, they are similar.
