Just did my first radiator replacement thanks to this video, really good stuff, but for anyone watching this that still have the factory hose clamps on their car, save yourself the headache and buy new clamps, the factory ones are such a massive pain to get back on without special pliers designed for them specifically.

Just replacing mine on the 04 Camry, saw your flip flops and thought what a luxury, it's 19°F here and everything is more of a PITA. Thanks for clearly showing all the steps.

Thanks man! Always nice to check a youtube video before doing a job, and you did a great one with this video. Straight to the point. I know it's going to save me a lot of time tomorrow when I do this job on our '05. Exact same symptoms as this one, so I don't need to ask myself any questions: just replace it. Well done!

I haven't taken my car to a mechanic in years and it's still running smoothly at 238 thousand odd miles. Regular maintenance is key and it's easier now with UA-cam videos. Ford focus is a champ have spent maybe $1,800 in 11 years.

Nice to see someone do it before tackling the job. Thanks. How much trans fluid do you think you lost in the swap? Did you need to top it off or was it not enough to worry about it?

Alright , today at toyota i had power steering flush refill, and a/c drain fill flush thing done. 1st call to me-all is good putting finishing touches on it, 2nd call and 3 hours later-The guy tells me there are hairline cracks on the radiator top? The car never overheated or runs hot even in 100 plus temps and traffic. nor has it ever leaked coolant- never had to add between flushes that i can recall. I was thinking as he was telling me this-how can he see the top of the radiator? its housed under a metal frame with about an inch or so clearance? he said the top of the radiator was plastic too. Also said to replace my power steering hoses which maybe leaked sometime ago and sealed itself? Again I never saw any fluid leaks nor have i had ever added fluid in the last 8 years or so.The car is a 2005 Camry 4 cyl. has 276,000 miles on it. Tires, while low on mileage and tread wear- they are over 6 years old , he also said to replace which i will replace the tires) also he said the rac/ pinon wa showing signs of leak-- (?) no fluids or signs on my driveway ever.
He suggested a new radiator, new hoses , labor, new thermostat, new water pump
(well into / over about 1200 bucks). I talked with my wife, its her car- we thought this could be the end of its run and investing this amount of money on cooling system , power steering hoses, repairs , tires etc,,, but IT runs great. After watching your video on radiator replacement and cost-I will keep my car for town errands and small trips. I ll replace the radiator and hoses myself- you made it look easy.
Your a good size guy bigger than me- and you didn't even raise the car up-nor had any issue with your hands or arms not being able to get the parts off. Thank you for this posting. Thanks so much. I was going to read up on it but i hate reading those car repair books. The beauty of youtube. I will save a ton of money.
Question-Should I do the thermostat? Water pump? all original equipment I think? Not sure I need too.
Anyways thanks for helping me decide to keep the car instead of getting rid of a car that runs great.
Any suggestions or comments I welcome all.
    Peace !

Red only dont ever by the green one is compatible with all it eats metals in toyota . Red coolant only in toyota trust me good job though. My bro told me this he worked on every car know to man at wildtech and taught classes . I did not belive him and asked the dealer he is correct. Chevy is gold toyota is red audi is red. They all use there specific chemicals. Most american cars it dont matter but toyota and definitely audi is very specific. It could be the two dont mix well . I think he told me something with the metals used ill have to ask again.
