Love whee she is on point, and sometimes I just don't want to see 180 degrees all over the place. Thank you so much!. I remember her, but hadn't looked for videos of her performances.

MOLTO BRAVI.BIGHIN GIULIO RENZO .

    Great post John!!!
I wish I had seen her live, her dancing is sooo beautiful and feminine. Many years ago backstage at the Metropolitan Opera I had a chat with Alicia Alonso, among several subjects of discussion, I asked her who's dancing she admired and liked...She answered:
    Galina ULANOVA
    Alicia MARKOVA
    and
    Melissa HAYDEN

She was my first ballet teacher, right before she closed her studio on Broadway and moved to NC. I was so lucky to watch her up close, see every movement of her muscles and hear her (a little raspy!) voice. She will be with me forever

      @@simaraft7373 Hello 👋 dear SIMA 😘
It's always a soulful healing experience to watch this caliber of artistry in Ballet. Thank goodness we can see it!!! I love Jaques's choreography, so elegant and sensual honoring the ravishing Tchaikovsky score. You're one of the lucky ones to have had the privilege of being in her Ballet class and regal presence. She LIVED this pas de deux.

You mean back in the good old days when classical dancers felt something, showed some emotion, got you to feel something, too, and romance was not forbidden? Yes, I liked it then...And I left out: ..were therefore exciting!

I'd rather see something lesser accomplished in technique or athletics, but with artistry, style, emotion, romance, femininity (and masculinity) and excitement, than people showing little of the above, but perversely going past 180 degrees at every opportunity just to show off that they started hyper-stretching in primary school! I don't care how far past 180 you can go. I think it's ugly. BTW, it wrecks every line. Please stop! Back in the day we called such abilities contortionism.
