FIRST QANTAS 787 DEPARTURE from Melbourne Airport

- Last Friday Qantas' first Dreamliner landed in Melbourne, today marked its first revenue flight between Melbourne and Perth, for the time being the 787 will be on domestic duties. Having missed its Inaugural landing last Friday it was great to finally catch it for its first departure to Perth. Featured also in this video is Sri Lankan Airlines departing for Columbo and some other domestic flights. Cheers TK

Have been looking forward to seeing a takeoff video of the QF 789 and it was worth the wait. Great job, the Qantas Dreamliner definitely looks elegant and the livery really suits the aircraft. Also from the land of Air NZ, welcome to the Dreamliner club. :)

Awesome seeing the QF 789 takeoff. There's a few videos of it landing in Australian airports but I'm yet to see it taking off. I can't wait to test it out next Saturday! :D

You wasted no time getting this one up! As always, stunning work! The quality was crystal clear and the camerawork was smooth as can be! There was quite a nice line-up before the QF 787, lucky you made it round in time for SriLankan! Not a bad spot for 27 takeoffs either, really enjoyed the fence free footage from it!! Liked!
Thanks mate pretty much worked on it whilst I was driving back home lol, was good to be back out there and filming something that's for sure. Line up was quite good nice bit of variety, got lucky with the Sri Lanka Air for sure! The 27 spot is very nice, fences are not a problem there lol, would be good to catch some landings from there as well at some stage. Cheers mate!

Great video shots! I spent a few hours on and off at YBBN just trying to perfect smooth tracking shots-still to perfect it!
The QF 787 doesn't fly into Brisbane yet, but by the time it does it'll be "just another 787-9". We already have similar from ANZ, ACA and ETD, and I'm sure YSSY and YMML have their fair share of other 787-9 users.
Thanks very much mate, took me a while to get the panning right, even now I still make errors but it does get easier to more you keep at it, in terms of 789's we have plenty around YMML and the QF is quickly becoming just another one as it was quite frequently operating domestic routes and has now begun long haul to LAX as of today. Appreciate your support!
This I believe carries on to London after Perth next Autumn as QF9, the first ever regular scheduled non-stop to the UK

Why hell hasn't REX upgraded this millennia to the SAAB 2000 Or Bombardier option or even ventured into jet operations, its about time, as for the video it was awesome job filming as always, say, jet star generation looks interesting all in orange , reminds me of the old easy jet colors!.
