Man, thank you DB for being so candid with his fallout with NBC. I know he’s not really the kind of guy to spill beans like this, but it’s very appreciated. It’s sad to hear his back was against the wall since the moment he arrived. He was a perfect candidate for the play-by-play spot considering he was also a pro racer. All I’ve ever heard from fans is how he made RC better in the booth. They really made a good pair and it sucks it never stuck. Loved his post-race track walks as well. Sad to not have him anymore, but glad he found something that really makes him happy.
Who the heck doesn't like DB! From his personality, sense of humor and fan interactions there is nothing to not like. As far as on-track reporter he's by far the best we've seen in a long time. Weege and Daniel should carry all moto and SX broadcast.
Ricky was the goat on a bike. But listening to him as a commentator it's like nails to a chalkboard. He is horrible to listen to. For me when you heard Ralph Shaheen you knew you were watching Supercross
RC is the greatest motocrosser of all time. He is terrible as a commentator: he stumbles, repeats himself constantly, and doesn’t seem like he has the ability to verbalize all the moto knowledge that’s in his head. Then there’s the insipid Will Christian. She’s probably nice, but she makes me want to mute my television. Blair was great and deserved better. After all this time you can still see his pain in his eyes. Jase you’re the best by far. Keep doing your thing!
DB is the best guy for this shit, and why they pushed him out…. It’ll never make sense. The dude lives for the sport. Full support and respect to Daniel
Taken out of the show because of jealousy over Daniel's talent. Was clear to everyone paying attention. The loss of Daniel as an announcer was a loss for the sport.
Him telling that story brought tears to my eyes. I lived that same story with my wife in the business we own today. My wife wiped the tears and told me to stand up and be the man I was on our wedding day and knock them dead. That day all doors were opened. Thank you to God for my wife, the biggest blessing for this man right here. Just so awesome.
Daniel Blair hang on to that girl she’s a keeper. To achieve any goal in life requires commitment it requires effort and often it requires risk. Motocross is a great example of this. Risk comes with consequences the great ones overcome all these things. Congratulations champ
Every time Will Christian asks a question it takes like 5 minutes. She goes on and on. It's frustrating to listen to. Ask the rider a pertinent question and let them talk...
DB....if you see this , we have met a couple times in the past Tiger was a buddy of mine too. I always rooted for you to take over the booth at these races. You are one of the best to EVER do it in my opinion. Keep your chin up dude , because a man with your amount of talent behind the Mic , deserves to be on the screen!! LOTS of us feel this way!
I love DB’s heart in a difficult situation. It’s obvious he has personal aspirations but coming to the knowledge that in broadcasting you may have a dozen great shows over a 10-15 year career but that pales in comparison to having a hand in scouting and developing talent that will have an impact on the entire sport for twice as long. When he looks back in 20/30 years it won’t be a few great broadcasts it will be 40-60 people that were impacted by him that will be involved in racing, be it racers that were great, that went into broadcasting, became team managers, scouts, coaches, etc. This type of impact will improve our sport far more and far longer and is the kind of impact all pro racers should aspire to have.
Yup, 100%. It's NBC's loss...and it's our loss. The coverage has gotten better, at least JT has a role still, and JS7 is great IMO. But Diffie ruins it. Weege should be the guy, and DB & him would have been epic.
This just proves that Hollywood and network television don't give a shit about the quality of their product. Sorry you had to learn it the hard way but you saw the rot behind the camera and you chose to walk away from it. Most people choose to sacrifice who they are to join the rot. There was always someone at each place that for some reason wanted to see me fail and went out of their way to make things way more difficult for me and eventually you just kind of get sick of it and walk away. when it becomes to much to take. Daniel, you were the absolute cream of the crop when it comes to SX/MX announcing and hosting. That was a heavy duty moment with Daniel. I’ve watched him race for several years I Think that’s NBC’s loss I don’t care for NBC and I hope Daniel goes on to fulfill whatever he puts his mind to

Listen to Formula 1; they don't undermine the audience; they respect the talent and action and tastefully add to the action.
I've been waiting to hear the reason ever since hearing about Daniel stepping down. Man, you were so SO good at that job! I'm glad you found where you are meant to be, now. I felt the heartache and passion in that interview. Keep pushing on!
Blair actually adds important and interesting information. Commentary that brings in the spectator. Not sure why they have a librarian giving commentary instead of Blair. Please bring him back.
I'm sure all those other Peacock guys are good men, but they come off more than a bit robotic. DB and GL come off as genuine dudes, and they actually know the nuances of the sport. They also explain it better.
Blair over RC any day of the week, twice on Saturday. I've been saying for years RC is a complete dummy. He really didn't need schooling when his path was already set as a pro racer. School was not important and it shows. If you all remember last year he finally got his GED, not sure how he passed, but he did. Without a doubt one of the best riders ever but just not very intelligent or a great communicator. I so look forward to RC retiring from the booth and AC taking his place.

NBC truly has no idea what they’re doing with the camera work. They don’t anticipate when passes for the lead are coming. They focus on some guy crashing in 19th rather than cover a pass for podium.
