I mean it does come from a time where quality of life improvements were commonly introduced sometimes even in the same year. Kinda weird how nowadays it is normal to simply dumb down sequels instead of improving on them. I mean Diablo2 had the typical 8 direction limitation for controls yet it still feels better than some of the more recent entries. Everything comes down to money and indeed, when you want to minimize effort and maximize profit without even playing a single game in your life... yea, no wonder game companies don't know what they are doing. If at least they've left it to the devs to come up with ideas or something. NFS was always pretty stupid I will forever love it for that. If only GoG had NFS, then I wouldn't need to worry much.

I think the reason a lot of people played Most Wanted over underground 1 and 2 more is simply due to the fact that they took everything that was good about those games and polish them for the most part. Sure the customization and the amount of cars is a little less but everything else was polished so nicely that I felt so genuinely appreciated. Also The Blacklist was really awesome. You never knew what you were going to win even if you're really good at the race there's a chance of luck at the end of it.
That aspect of was not that bad actually. It is good for people who just want to ride cars in the map and have hot pursuits and not necessarily want to race. The bad thing however was the handling of cars , not fun at all
I literally found a weird ass supercar which could do 210 miles an hour the first 10 minutes in the game, its just so dumb. Getting new cars are supposed to feel rewarding.

I feel like the original Need for Speed Hot Pursuit for PlayStation 1 that's what brought a lot of love to the old school Need for Speed fans and Most Wanted really captured what that was years later. It's truly sad though that when they did try to redo Most Wanted as well as Hot Pursuit they really let a lot of fans down by and so focusing on remastering a classic that was the best of the best he decided to add new graphics and change a lot of the things that made those games special.
I'm not very impressed that you placed Rivals onto 10th place. That game is underrated for me and I loved it. Graphics is spot on, drifting nailed the spot, it's a combination of Most Wanted (2012) and Hot Pursuit but better police chases, and better customization. Edit: The soundtrack fucking slaps. You cannot disrespect Rivals' soundtrack like that by calling it obnoxious.

Rivals, in my opinon, is when the Most wanted 2012 and Hot Pursuit 2010 fused together. And I loved it. Sadly there's an error to this game that keeps triggering when I configure Pursuit tech key slot 2 in keyboard settings, and I cannot enjoy the game.
The best part about NFS MW 2005 isn't the compelling story, adrenaline filled cop chases or even the music. It's the replay value. I'm 17 and first started playing this a couple of months back, and no matter how many times i finish the career, i always seem to come back. Also the cars. Each and every car in the game feels different, and they can all be turned into a beast with the right upgrades.
Hot pursuit has 0 fun factor except for it's cop vs racer gameplay. No upgrades, nothing in freemode, nothing to do except race online or do missions. And worst of all hot pursuit has too many of those time trial things where you get +2 secs on your time for every single bump

It's better than MW to me. MW gets tedious and is overrated. In good and bad ways. Many wouldn't like it if they didn't play on PC. The game had plenty of issues on console. That's why PC has so many mods for the game

In my opinion, The Run needs to be on this list. It was the best and my first NFS i ever played, when i got my brand new Xbox 360. The graphics were amazing for its time, still holds up the new standards. It also had a storyline, which i say was pretty cool and entertaining. Too many cars, despite the customization was not bigger unlike MW 2005. There was no free roam, which i say was sad. But still, its a pretty nice game to play if you have no Wi-Fi.

Why is need for speed hot potato remastered not worth getting? I picked it up for 7 bucks on steam sale. Only because has crossplay, 60fps, 4k resolution new destructables and high textures what more you want?
Need for speed 1 was indeed better than 2... and in my opinion it had better tracks, It also looked realistic, while the second one looked like a cartoon.

Need for speed was the first ea game i've ever played, and i don't really agree with the max out your level part and no storyline, cause it was just for fun. overall, handled it nicely, and i can agree, remastered is just a money-grabber remake that just wants to seem cool, but isn't. the only thing they changed was some of the textures, graphics, and that's it. nothing else. (also free drive exists for map exploring lol)

Why is need for speed hot potato remastered not worth getting? I picked it up for 7 bucks on steam sale. Only because has crossplay, 60fps, 4k resolution new destructables and high textures what more you want?

Need for speed was the first ea game i've ever played, and i don't really agree with the max out your level part and no storyline, cause it was just for fun. overall, handled it nicely, and i can agree, remastered is just a money-grabber remake that just wants to seem cool, but isn't. the only thing they changed was some of the textures, graphics, and that's it. nothing else.
(also free drive exists for map exploring lol)
