- Septette for the Dead Princess
Original by ZUN
Arranged by me
This is a Halloween special!
A few years ago, i tried to arrange this song, but in my honest opinion, i did not do very well, so i wanted to try again this time, but with a different approach.
You see, let's be honest, there are currently way too many Septette arranges already in the world, and just making the song "normal" wouldn't be fun i think, so i went a little crazy, i added some new parts, multiple piano spams and solos, and some melody and rhythm changes.
About the instrumentation:
This time around, i challenged myself to not use the Edirol SD-90, because i use it in every song, i wanted to see how it would sound like if i didn't.
This song primarily uses Kontakt 5 factory library and Halion 6, both which i have bought thanks to your commissions and financial support on my Patreon.
I wanted some parts to feel a bit "misty", because i wanted to show a side of Remilia's theme that is not often felt in many arranges, i used a combination of more "punchy" and more "floaty" instruments to try to balance feelings a little.
I payed extra attention to how some of the instrument combinations feel, especially in the chorus, i tried something a bit different there, because it has a lot more emptiness than usual, i think that emptiness is sometimes nice to have as a balance to the more wild and melodical parts.
Overall, i am quite happy with how this turned out, i think it is a lot better than my previous Septette arrange, i'm very curious what you think!
I'm very busy with composing for indie games and for multiple albums, so there might be less uploads on this channel between now and the end of December, so please keep that in mind when you see less uploads.
I wish you all a happy Halloween by the way!
Halloween is a very "English-American tradition", it is not really a big thing in my country (the Netherlands), but i have a lot of foreign friends, and most of my subscribers are American, and it is a fun opportunity to do something special with music, so why not?

If you have come this far in the description, then, once again, congratulations!
Thank you for actually reading the description and what i have to write about my music, it means a lot to me when people take the time to do that.
I hope you have a nice day, and if you are not having a nice day, then good luck making it a nice day, remember, be the change you want to see in the world!
i really like how this arrangement captures remi's more youthful side! i think it's up there with my fav septette arranges now! amazing job!!
I know Im kinda randomly asking but do anyone know of a good site to stream newly released tv shows online ?
I just love this, it makes me really feel like that Remilia is a Modern Touhou Boss!
I wonder how U.N Owen was her would sound like?
I really like the diversity of notes and instruments used here. Also I love how different this sounds from the original yet still captures the charisma of Remilia's theme. Wonderful!
CHARISMA!
BREAK!
Oh, wait.
I really like this arrangement, very princess-esque (if that's a thing)
Also 00:43 to 00:45 gave me a World of Empty Dreams vibe
This turned out to be outstanding.
Congratulations, Sylvy! You rock!
I really loved how the violin has been used here as something to express the "princess" title of Remilia (like someone here said) and her theme, itself. It sounds lovely and pretty royal-like, for sure.
I liked the way it sounds like some kind of orchestra and jazz at the same time. Pretty good.
Well, of course I've read the entire description, and I'm pretty happy to see that you managed to arrange that song exactly the way you wanted it to be. That's the most important of everything here.
One more time: congratulations, Sylvy!
You, once more, created something beautiful out of your talent! I really loved it.
See you later!
Remilia: "In this moonlit night, who dares issue me a challenge so fearlessly?"
Reimu: "You might be a final boss, but you're certainly the most extra character of the entire franchise."
@Stanley Finnegan yeah man i watch flixzone, its pretty good if you ask me.
/s
2:40 was my favorite part; those runs sounded so nice.
Super spoopy Sylvysprit!
good lord 5:20 is fantastic, strong memories of phantasm vibes. very ballroom-esque overall. great work, this is probably my favorite arrange of the song
Oh my God! I love so much this arrange!!! I feel like it sounds kind of happy, but as if I was seeing something pretty awesome happening at the same time!!! I really can't express pretty well the feeling, but still I love this arrange so much, it's sooo good and I'm in love with the "decoration notes" that are in some parts, it makes the song sound so lovely, like if my heart could melt! ♡♡♡♡♡
I am crying... funny how this song introduced me to your channel as it basically introduced me to Touhou altogether. Still my favorite 2hu theme and this is my favorite arrangement of yours!
i dont think people appreciate the mixing in your arrangements enough, it's so great. (the arrangement itself is also banger)
Thank very much. I finally found another remastered version and my new favorite
When I saw this two days ago I was like "(Scarlet) Shoot, I want to hear it now"
I'm still like that but it's actually available so sometimes you get your wish
Got goosebumbs when listening this. Amazing.
Oh hell yes, a very good theme finally arranged. Especially that piano you use, it's freaking neat. Grandioso trabajo, Sylvy.
Cheers ;)
added to my music playlist
One the best arrangements of this song. Keep up the awesome work.
This too good! I love Septette for the Dead Princess, and this is just a REALLY solid arrange.
I'm personally a fan of IaMP's version over the original, but I'd be lying if I said this wasn't a pleasant listen.
Ooohhh
**3:00 AM**
Okay...
This sounds more joyful
A really well made arrange~ love it
ah yes, the giant shiny flying donuts lady
Cultured content. Timeless remix.
Thank you! ^^
Your arrange is so good! Ten times better than the original omg, I absolutely love it!!!
really nice variation on the flow
Oh yes this is a unique arrangement~
very very good
...any chance of a 30 minute extended upload of this?
@@Sylvysprit well, i prefer 30 minute versions for listening for like a playlist or something, but tis fine, i can still make it work
thanks for replying thou!
happi haloween sylvy
Sylvysprit glad ;3
We were at 666 likes.
But then I liked. Why? Because I like this arrange. That's what the like button is for, not to have the so-called 'devil's number' on it, which is most likely not even Satan's anyway.
Now that I think about it, 69 is a much better candidate for beong the devil's number...
This sound like an English Orchestra! Amazing!
So this Is a hallowen present :0
May I make a mashup of this to Beethoven - Virus (?)
yoo this is so cute! may i ask what soudfont you're using?
Thanks!
I didn't use any soundfonts, i used VST's (more information in the description)
What visualizer is this?
Coming back to this, I realized I can hear a little bit of Undertale here.
*/Coincidence?/*
Yes, that is a coincidence, i have no idea what could sound like Undertale here
@@Sylvysprit Listen carefully at 2:05 piano(?) note.
Then compare this ua-cam.com/video/esofirhSD-o/v-deo.html.
I was just a small second but dang, that really gave me an Undertale feeling... ~~to block spears...~~
This is so spoopy alexa play megalovaina.
And it's still relevant in 2018.
