Break mostly alligator snapper with 25 Oct common. Claws alligator. Shell 90 pct alligator, tail common, body color common, neck length common, agression and speed common. So so weird to see and watch. I wonder it its genetically viable or sterile. Common snappers very rarely are found in the wild with alligator snappers. Super rare. I heard a few reports of some in some streams. In places where depletion of the alligator snapper has occurred populations of common will increase. One hybrid was caught wild that I saw, nobody recognized it as special and it was ate I believe. This is fascinating. James Dobie of Auburn univ. Feed it something besides goldfish. Goldfish is a poor choice for a feeder fish since they are high in fat and contain a compound and prevents the turtle from taking in vitamins effectively. I assume it eats other stuff too so if that’s the case then it’ll be alright. If you feed only goldfish (which you should never do throw in something healthy like pellet sticks or if it only eats live minnows,baby tilapia,mollies/guppies, or even super worms are a better choice) you should quarantine the fish and gut load the goldfish with food. Edit: upon further inspection of the channel it does seem this is a feeding tank as there are more far larger tanks shown with presumably the same turtle. He also does feed correct foods like different variety of fish and mice. He also feeds him prepared foods like pellets which is also really good so this isn’t one of those classic cases of uneducated people sticking a monster in a tiny tank and feeding it only goldfish. He/she actually cares and puts effort into their livelihood. This is just to clear up a few things in the comments.
