After going back to MW3, BO6 feels very very smooth. The omni movement also let's you strafe sprint, and leans into corners automatically. If you expected a total change, you we're kidding yourself. It's now the best feeling shooter on the market. Can't wait till it comes out.
The hostage thing in BO6 is awesome. Much like executions, it's all about flavour. But no, it's not a new game mechanic that's a genre defining thing ...
Capcom was on the brink of destruction right after RE6 came out, the company was only valued at about $100 million at the time. So making high-quality singleplayer games is, sadly, not necessarily the magic bullet we all at SIFTD want it to be.
53:00 When Concord was having it's beta, it was also very close to the betas of Mecha Break (hero shooter with mechs) and Marvel Rivals (hero shooter with super heroes). But even if Concord had that entire time frame to itself, it would still fail because it fails at the very fundation that attract people to the genre, the characters. It's baffling that nobody at Sony looked at that and didn't delay the game to redesign the characters...but then again, they were also making that animation short and other marketing pieces, plus the ingame cutscenes and that would mean to redo literally everything related to the game too. That project was doomed way before anyone in the public put eyes on it.
I was looking forward to getting the Pro but that reveal completely killed it for me. Not worth it. At least right now. I’m glad I waited on SW since they’re already going to patch it. Mario Party is another series where it’s just dumb fun to me and I always end up buying them on sale. I played the BO6 beta for 2 matches. It’s solid but I still prefer any of the CODs before 2016. They just played better and the systems worked better. As you mentioned, the perks and equipment now just feel so dead.
Even if I found someone who was willing to pay the same retail price for my used PS5, as much as I went on for a long time about wanting to upgrade if GTA6 confirmed it was the only way to play 60FPS. I was already starting to lose interest and price point, having to buy the disc drive. Right now the feeling I have is a big old nope, I'm really hoping GTA6 is made in the way RDR2 is where for some reason I don't feel the 30FPS as being choppy when I play like I do so many other games.
I've been saying that the PS5 Pro would be a GTA6 machine for about 1 year now, but then people on SIFTD, and the guys working at Digital Foundry kept telling me and still keep saying that it's not going to happen. And DF now even added talking with IGN the only way GTA6 will be running at 60FPS is if GTA6 is able to run at 60FPS on the base model.
If the best the PS5 pro can do is to render slightly better objects at a distance, like shown in 17:58 , there's no way it's worth spending all that money. The suppose 60 fps it supports will not be a thing in the majority of games, because console devs prefer to push out more graphics instead of performance, and the pro version will be pushed again to whatever limit it has, to make sure that damn blade of grass is in 1440p native. For 780 dollars the PS5 is just a worse PC.
I don’t think the PS5 Pro is a way to gauge the PS6. The PS6 has to be more affordable to get people into the ecosystem, PS5 Pro can get away with this price because the PS5 will continue to be the primarily method of entry to the platform for now
The switch to PC talk because of the $700 price tag is beyond stupid. If you couldn’t afford $700… how in the hell are you going to afford $1400 for a PC?! 🤦🏾♂️
Well, if you buy older but still viable components, you still have a pc comparable to PS5. You can buy Ryzen7 5th gen with a decent RTX card and ton of storage around that price point. Should you choose to look at used parts you can get a great deal on very capable parts. Certainly for the EU PS5 Pro price point it's much more viable. And online is free on PC.
I love the "Im just gonna buy it for my job" from every single podcaster out there ah ah. Sure
you remember the meme "it gets good after 40 hours"
in days gone, the characters stop being giant assholes after 40 hours.
Road to Episode 500 begins! Thanks Shane and Matt and SIFTD homies!

Sorry I missed this live. Was on vacation. Great to see Matt and Shane talk about a game e that delighted them.
The best gaming podcast in the market!

Yay! My favourite gaming podcast is back

Returnal might not be AAA, but it's a 10/10 and next to Elden Ring the best game of this current generation.
Shane likes Call of Duty
great show!

PS5 Pro is for proffessional streamers I guess, so they can easily swallow 700$
Fantastic show 👏
Good show!
fantastic
I was excited for PS5 Pro but that price point is crazy…you have to pay extra for a stand…😂
Glad to see it in my feed
Great show as always! Keep up the good work.

Fantastic as always
PS5 Pro is still way cheaper than any comparable PC.
The circle jerk over Astrobot is wild. It’s a competent platformer, but it’s not Mario Galaxy good.
good episode guys
Great show guys.
Great.

Take my money, Papa Sony! PS5P day 1 ❤

There's zero hyperbole in Shane's and Matt's review of Astro Bot. It's in one word - brilliant.
For some reason Astro Bot reminds me of one of those kickstarter platformer games like Yuka Laylee. Which isn't a good thing.
GameFace!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
How much is the PS6 going to cost ?
Lol $950
If sony is able to sell the ps5 pro in sufficient numbers, then more expensive than that.
I don’t think the PS5 Pro is a way to gauge the PS6. The PS6 has to be more affordable to get people into the ecosystem, PS5 Pro can get away with this price because the PS5 will continue to be the primarily method of entry to the platform for now

Yeah that makes no sense.
That's not what was said. We said you can upgrade an old PC you have for around that amount and do a lot more with it than a PS5.

Games are generally cheaper on PC, so it's an investment.
