Three Dog Night was more successful and more Rock'n'Roll than over half the bands in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The fact that they and other great bands like Jethro Tull, Grand Funk and Foreigner haven't been inducted proves how misguided that Hall of Fame is.

From 1968-1974 they sold the most albums of all bands in that era. I am proud that Cory Wells was born in Buffalo, NY and raised as I was also. He past away living in Dunkirk, NY about an hour south of Buffalo, NY on Lake Erie. Cory was the main person to the band and the structure. A very down to earth humble family man. It sounds like you're trying to rush through your script as quickly as possible, which is compromising your delivery. If your audience wants a faster delivery, they can always just set the audio to 1.25X or 1.5X... so you don't really have to try to sprint through it.

It’s a shame that such a band as Three Dog Night would end up falling apart, they were such a talented group with so much potential, the double live album they produced had so many great songs on it, my parents bought that album and I spent hours listening to it, much of the material was well written and the musicianship was top notch. Old Fashioned Love Song, Eli’s Coming, One, Brickyard Blues, Mama Told Me Not Come, Black and White, Joy To The World, and many other great songs were on their records. Had they been together when I was in High-School I most likely would have attended one of their concerts. It’s too bad that they didn’t tour with Blood Sweat and Tears, that would have been a great combination. I had always wondered what happened with them, they essentially fell off the face of the Earth, as far as we all knew.
Many other good bands fell apart shortly after they had gotten airborne, it’s too bad that these guys didn’t stick it out a bit longer, they would have made good candidates for a Las Vegas residency.

The "Ajax Lady" from Cheech and Chong's Up in Smoke is who's responsible for the name Three Dog Night, she was Danny Hutton's girlfriend at the time and suggested the name.
Her name was June Fairchild and aside from giving them their name she was in several movies including the 1971 Rock Hudson movie Pretty Maids All in a Row and 1974's Thunderbolt and Lightfoot with Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges and several others.

Really sloppy writing and editing on this. One example has you stating that "Mama Told Me Not To Come" reached #11 while showing the chart with the song at #12. You also might have mentioned that Cory Wells's "almost comical" vocal style on that song was his emulation of Randy Newman's vocal (who wrote and originally recorded it.). You also skipped wildly from discussing the It Ain't Easy LP at length, to abruptly talking about "Joy To The World" which was on their fourth album Naturally. You also referred to "Axton" without explaining who he (Hoyt Axton, the songwriter) was. And of course you completely skipped over their second LP, Suitable For Framing. There's probably more mistakes in the part after the discussion of "Joy To The World" but I stopped watching.

Aside from the vocalists, this band didn't have any "virtuoso" musicians...what it did have is absolutely perfect chemistry and matching skill level to make an amazing ensemble.
Been a huge fan since I was a wee child.
They were my first concert as a pre teen...first time smelling weed. My best pal's big sis took us. Rebels! (late 60's)
Absolutely blown away by their performance.

Isn’t that enough? The Beatles weren’t virtuoso musicians. Very few pop artists are. The big drawback for me was that they didn’t write their own songs and weren’t part of a musical movement and so lacked an identity. Their versatility meant that they fell between different stools which means that they’ve been forgotten, more than their talent warranted.

I saw 'em in 1974, and Chuck Negron was so high that he didn't even know where he was. He chugged orange juice for the entire show, which I've been told, indicates that he was trying to replenish his vitamin C levels, which are said to be depleted by LSD or "acid" use. I found out later that he had struggled with a heroin addiction for years, and had lost all of his worldly possessions, including all the gold records and other awards, and eventually ended up on Skid Row. Such a waste of God-given talent.

Three Dog Night was a band ,which as known for their vocalizations ? and numerous hit status ,and ''pop'' image ! .I can't remember them ''stretching it out'' with their band as in ''live performances ?. Were their good musicians in the background ? .I believe they were much as the Grassroots ''hit wonders'',though probably tells why they are not HOF material !. I like those hits also, though one looks at them as ELO ? another ""hit machine'',but they had a great musical band behind them ,classical in theme, but could bust a huitar solo . I don't know why they are not remembered better, though a great name !
