Great job sharing your journey with family and friends. I to did the same and even took my two nephews this past summer to Yellowstone and the Cody Rodeo. Can’t wait to take my grandkids when they’re old enough. If it hadn’t been for Forrest’s challenge to find his treasure I don’t know if I would have made it to the Rockies. Crazy to think right! The real treasure was right in front of us the whole time! Life is a Hoot 🦉! Be safe Be kind Be positive and have FUN!
Well said, and well done! Make sure to add Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park to your bucket list. We headed straight there after this video.
A logical solution to the puzzle: The poem begins with the epilogue. After that, the clues to the path and the place where he deposited the treasure begin. Where the description of the place and route alternate from stanza to stanza: Begin it where warm waters halt (path: starts at the confluence of the Boiling River and the Yellowstone River) And take it in the canyon down (location) Not far but to tar to walk (way: 10 miles which is better to drive by car) Put in below the home of Brown (location: under the winter roost of a brown bear) From there it's no place for the meek (way: through strong white water) The end is ever drawing night (location: the end is not far away) There'll be no paddle up your creek (path: current is too strong) Just heavy loads and water high (location: rocks and deep water) The description of the canyon at Osprey Falls follows in the epilogue.
Then, we've got a two-for-one special! Because, "the Joe Brown access point above Yankee Jim Canyon is dominated by cutthroat trout with a healthy supply of rainbows and a handful of browns sprinkled in."
@treasure poem Agreed! Our solution starts in Wyoming, but, to your point, ends in Montana making it a bit of an unlikely final resting place. But, who knows until the final location is revealed!
@@byMatthewSmith IMO, the only person who knows the solution is the same person that the majority of the online search community doesn't want it to be or they just can't see the importance of what I keep saying online, that the solver and finder can be found out by simple elimination and reasoning. Too many only have interest in their own UA-cam channels or their solves than to really wanting to find out the truth even though that's what they keep saying. I guess they need to keep hooking the public. It doesn't matter what state it was actually found in, or if the person is shy or from back east, gave Forrest his gut feeling, the Lead Searcher or the 200 footer or even if it was a woman, what matters is what Forrest Fenn said about the finder on July 22, 2020. What Forrest was saying was that he had *communicated* with the finder on July 22, 2020 and if one can't prove that they were in communications with Forrest on that day *AND* they discussed getting or giving out some more information related to the finder for the benefit of the search community *THEN* they simply can't be the finder, solver, including Jack Steuf. I believe that Forrest had intentionally not communicated with Jack Steuf on that day. And maybe he didn't even respond to any other searcher's emails on that day unless maybe not related to questions about the finder, solver. Jack Steuf, as far as I know, hasn't provided that kind of proof.
You’ve earned a sub from me just purely based on your passion for this hahaha I wish it was you that found the treasure but I think you should still go looking because people aren’t so convinced on the guy who supposedly found it
Matt, I like your solve because it was also my 2nd solve. In Aug 2018, when the treasure was still to be found, I spent 5 days exploring slip and slid, sphinx and other near by canyons without finding it! But, Jack said Wyoming, not Montana in "Chasing the Thrill".
Thanks @Frank! Great minds think alike. I agree (and was slightly disappointed as I was pretty certain years ago!). But, my treasure was found in Montana.
@@byMatthewSmith it's a loooong craaaazy story, but it was insane running into him. For me, it's like a distant second to actually finding the treasure. I was writing a novel about a group of NYer fish-out-of-waters hunting for the treasure prior to tying the knot. I learned years later my ex had plagiarized my artwork 7 years prior to us dating/hunting for the gold; this was back in NYC; her plagiarism launched her whole art/teaching career with it--and never told me, not even when we dated. Meeting Forest will always cast a magical glow over everything, including my novel, in spite of my ex's behavior. It's a really funny novel. It's completely inspired by the real hunt; you want to check it out? I can send you a link.
That’s a bummer that people were so close. I watched a expedition unknown and there was two people, a husband and a wife or boyfriend and girlfriend. I can’t remember that were following the clues, the exact same way as it was found and they were 100% sure that they were correct and it’s crazy because I was watching it and I was listening to him talk about how the cold water still and I was 100% on it with that because you would have to go where the warm waters stop and I was like maybe they’re on to something and they were within 50 feet of finding the treasure😅 I mean I’m glad you guys enjoyed yourself but I would be like no I mean a lot of people are upset because they didn’t find it. We knew that was gonna happen onto the next one and I’m glad the force finn was still alive when it was found.
I'm with you all the way, glad it was found. I still loved the thrill of the chase, and I feel like I had a pretty decent theory. Plus, I got to see places in Taos and Yellowstone that I'd never seen before-and wasn't that the whole purpose of FF's doing all this? Mission accomplished!

Fair enough. Not sure if it constitutes. It was my 'secret spot' where I believe it was found. There was reason to believe it was near Yellowstone based on reports although possibly in Wyoming, not Montana. But, I did find my own treasure. *applies earmuffs just in case*
Is anybody else slightly distracted by Matthew's beautiful mane flowing in the mountain breeze during practically every outdoor scene? Simply stunning, particularly for a man of his age...
Shoot. I thought you were going to show us the precise location where the treasure was actually found. But I've been thru that area a couple times and you are right, the real treasure is pretty much everywhere you look out there. Some people look, but miss the Forrest (Fenn) for the trees.
