  • This SB-300 is pretty much as I got it, except for cleaning the tube sockets and checking the tubes.
Stations heard on the video includes stations in Iowa, Colorado, Canada, and Arizona. Bands listened to in the video include 10, 20, and 40. All bands do work fine.
All listening is done is done in the SSB mode, and the video explains why.
This receiver has a multi-pin jack on the back, and this was where the operator could plug in a multi-conductor cable, and then plug the other end into his Heathkit transmitter, and operate both receiver and transmitter in tandem. (This was how it was done before the days when transceivers were common.)
This is available for sale on my website, FatCat.Parts. I have been selling online for over 25 years, I pack securely, and ship quickly from Mississippi.

I cannot answer that question. If you are using a Heathkit receiver and just want to hear some stations, all you need is a longwire, the longer and higher the better. 100' long at 35' up will work. Longer is better. Higher is better. What you actually need will depend on what you want to accomplish with the receiver.
