Thanks for the video! I was just trying to clip 3 seconds of a simple .MP4 recorded in MS Teams and the render would freeze before it even got to calculating the time remaining. I changed the advanced setting from the recommended Hardware Acceleration to the MS Basic Render Driver and it worked. Sloooowly, but it worked. Not happy about that fix and not happy that I upgraded from 2023 where I was having no issues.

They did not work. But, I called Techsmith Camtasia Support and they had me take out all of the “remove background” application to clips. I didn’t need to remove the clip just deleted the visual effect remove background. Once they were removed the video exported fine.

so is there a solution for the video freezing during playback? especially if I crop the videos too much, the videos get extremely stuttering... i created a proxy video and selected my video card in the settings and it still freezes during playback. my video card is rtx 3050.... and another question, some videos have a jagged thing on the timeline. some of my videos have it too. what does it do? to be precise, for example, at 2:48 minutes into your video, in the part that says "how "to" create", there is a jagged icon where "to" is. what is it?

      1. Yes my videos freeze during playback too, especially with too much editing/trim cutting/etc.. don't think there is a way around it.
      2. I do not see any jagged thing on timeline nor anywhere in the video... can you take a screenshot maybe and show me what you're seeing? Either I don't have it on my end, or I'm not looking in the right place (even though I looked everywhere..)

I am having the same issue with the clip speed crashing Camtasia, and then not allowing the export. Thank you for sharing!!

I'm just doing a screen recording and then trying to export it and it still is crashing. Why would I be having any file issues?
And it's not a long file. Rendering says it will take a minute. It has froze up on me at 44 seconds and at 18 seconds, so not in a consistent place.
This is an absolute mess. I thought it was an issue with my old version Camtasia 2021 so I upgraded to 2024 and it is still doing it.

hmm havent heard of that before. have you checked with camtasia support to see if they can replicate the issue or perhaps its something with your computer?

You can keep the tracks in your original project, then highlight each section (let's say from the beginning to 20 minute mark) and right click the section on the layer and export that section. I recommend using a Marker before you export because the second (or subsequent) render(s) can be done the same way. Highlight the section on the track and right click the section and then Export Timeline Section As. You can access the same function by going to Export on the menu bar and choosing the same thing 'Export Timeline Section As'.
I'm running into a similar issue that you initially described. I have a long video and have markers set up in my timeline. When I export to legacy and try to export per marker the system just freezes, so now I'm exporting each section manually... 😡😡🗯🗯

Hi there, thank you for the video I'm having an issue where I export a large file (30 gigs, video is 1 hr 34 mins long) and when I try to open it, I get a black screen and told to "retrieve file again", error 0x800705aa. I tried uploading it to YT as well, and it can't process the file. I've tried different H.264 settings, exporting different sections seperately, but for some reason, while it rendered perfectly in 15 fps, 60 fps simply doesn't open and gives aforementioned error. Have any idea what is happening here?

Hey, no, never experienced this before yet... might sound redundant, but have you contacted support yet, have they shed any light on this?

That's really odd... did you explain the issue to them and did they confirm that they are looking into it? Or they haven't even responded that they received your request? I usually use their live chat support and get immediate help, or at the worst their email replies within a day. Did you get at least the automatic email from them saying they got your ticket? I'd follow up with them via live chat ASAP...
