I would heavily disagree with Heroes being the “worst” pick of the list. 06 still has a bad reputation, unleashed still looks really good by today standards, and adventure 1 and 2 are the ones that have a really high risk high reward type of energy due to their legacy, so the safest option for a remake would be heroes.

Sonic Heroes is a really good concept and I am pumped for the Remake. They are waiting with Adventure Remake because if they fumble this, people will be extremely mad at Sonic Team/Sega. I‘m guessing that they will start with the whole Adventure Stuff after the next 3D mainline game.
I think Heroes makes a lot of sense though. Its a test and if this game is successful it is absolutely guaranteed that the Adventure Remakes are up next. Also think about it. If they made Adventure Remakes would there be hype if they announced Heroes remakes after? No. It makes sense to start out with Heroes then build up to Adventure.
I really wish Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) was like this. Having another new character being a brave, strong, loyal, and kindhearted mink named Xielon, Xielon the Mink as Silver and Blaze's other best friend. Sorry, but thinking about this video also has me thinking about one of my huge wishes for the Sonic the Hedgehog series.

I can’t really form an opinion on Heroes since I’ve never got to play it… which is the same reason why I’m happy that it’s getting a remake. I’ve always wanted to play it. I love the theme song too. Let’s hope the remake is good!

I loved Sonic Heros as a kid just because of the funny things you would do. Also my favorite level were the rainforest ones with the big frogs and cocodile that attacks you at the end

Sonic heroes has by far the most potential for a remake of all those sonic games. -> First has the most unique mechanic of all of them (teams), which can be further encahnced and expanded. -> Has by far the best set of levels (and most original) of the bunch: Adventure games have really good levels, but most themes are bland compared to Heroes. Heroes has: -> A beutiful sea level with, aquatic ruins emerging. -> An awsome metroplis, which can never go wrong -> Casino level in 3d. -> Rails on top of mountains, with stations, trains, and an appealing color pallet. -> Best jungle level in any sonic game. -> A ghost mansion -> A fucking sky fleet level, where ure destoying ships while progressing. Now imagine those levels with current technology. -------------- Also has team Chaotix and Metal Sonic, they deserve shine too. I'm not saying Sonic Heroes is objectivily better than SA1 or 2. I'm saying it has more potential for a remake. I'd rather have a SA3 than a remake.
Well Forces is my second sonic game, so I kinda can't help but be bias for it, and 06 has some fun to it, and the "it's so bad it's good" type feeling. But Heroes is just the worst kinda bad for me.
To be fair, I view this Sonic Heroes remake is a very good idea as if it uses Unreal... Hands down it makes Sonic Heroes much better to mod and honestly Shadow X Generations is about to exist. So it maybe unnecessary.
If this is actually true, I like to look at this as more of a test for other remakes in the future. I can’t imagine sega would won’t to screw up SA1, SA2, or even an 06 remake (especially since they screwed up the original 06)

Idk man, Sonic Heroes always had this weird effect on me where despite its janky physics and repetitive gameplay with different teams, I couldn’t help but find myself coming back to it every once in a while. I think a remake if done right would do the game a giant favor. I will say though, if there ever is a mainline Sonic game that deserves a remake the most, it would definitely have to be 06.

Iunno, a Sonic Heroes remake might not have been a bad choice. It probably was the only practical choice they had that fans haven't already remade themselves, and for free. I mean what could they do with Unleashed that Sonic fans haven't done already? Rework the Werehog nobody liked? Port or remake the stages like literally every other sonic fan game or mod has done? P06 is already made and still being worked on by fans. Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 couldve been good choices, but I guess they wanted to do the unexpected.(and not have to work with multiple gameplay styles again.) That just leaves Heroes. Not a boost formula game, so nobody can just say a fan made this same thing years ago. Plus it would justify them not using the Hedgehog Engine. Remembered fondly One singular playstyle across all characters Only have to work with the same set of stages stretched across an entire game. Plus some of the levels would look absolutely gorgeous with an updated look.
One of the first things I thought when I first heard this was "Gduba is gonna be pissed over this" lol Besides that I think Advenure 1 should have got the remake. Doing 06 would be a terrible idea and would make sonic a punching bag online for like a month straight despite of the quality, I think sonic team working with P06 would be the best approach since it would shine a more positive light on it like what happened with mania of "oh sonic fans are getting to work with sega to make sonic games, and they are fixing the worst game", I just think that would make people more open to the idea of 06 returning
please understand that sonic heroes had so much potential but it was brought down solely by the fact there was only one level designer working on it who worked day and night and literally almoat died to get the game out in time and the development team was unfamiliar with the engine and was rushed to release the game in a ridicolously short amount of time and in platforms they did not originally planned for plus mandates changed the vision of the game a lot which was originally meant to be a celebration of the adventure series into making sonic kid friendly so there were soo many cool scrapped concepts that didnt see the light of the day so the game is basicalky like xtreme, 06, boom and forces but all combined into one, and it had so much potential but even then just fixing the controls and revamping the levels alone would make it amazing, plus remember that this is one of the best selling sonic titles and the first multiplatform sonic game and for many the first introduction into the sonic series, so yeah it does have its fans too so yeah maybe it is good for sonic team to get familiar with remaking games by doing this before making adventure remakes or unleashed
On a more serious note I think this is a good thing. The original Sonic heroes was developed and rushed because the developers were forced to develop it on hardware that they were not familiar with. One of the developers got insomnia mainly because they were forced to be put on a deadline, causing the game to have multiple versions of it that are incomplete with tons of concepts and levels scrapped. This is a good thing because they get to go back and actually complete the vision that they originally had. The same with Sonic generations, they're expanding on old games and fixing their mistakes. I for one am glad that the Sonic series isn't doing the usual "Make a game and move onto the next one without ironing out the flaws of the last one" thing they do. They saw that people liked how they improved frontiers so hopefully they do the same here. And I get that playing heroes is frustrated but u gotta give this a chance man I'm sure we'll get an unleashed remaster or an 06 remake someday 💀
2:24 Game works fine, looks like some people have skill issue (well, some scripted runs on some maps were a bit broken, I agree). I never had problem with homing attack there, control of characters was pretty smooth, the only thing that annoyed me in my childhood is broken rail-jumps, those totally need to be fixed. + game really need more lvls and fix some of the missions of Chaotix team, Im really hyped for this remake, can't wait to beat Metal Madness with its both fire OST`s (the whole game has incredible soundtrack, if SEGA gonna make sort of remixes of those, DAMN, THATS GONNA BE FIRE) I really like all old 3d sonic games [SA, SA2, Heroes, Riders (tho its not really platformer game)] and I think they all deserve to get at least playable 60FPS HD remaster on all moder platforms, I never played Unleashed, 06 and Colors because there never been PC port. I think its gonna be great time to get back in sonic franchise because my last game was Generations back in 2013.

GDubA... Sonic Heroes easily deserves it more than Adventure as this game hasn't gotten rereleased due to licensing headaches from EA. Sonic adventure got rereleased on multiplatforms, I know it maybe 7th generation, but if you got a PC, You can easily play it officially for Adventure 1 and 2.... I never said the ports were decent, but some modding and boom-bock-bang! You got it! While fans are remaking Sonic-06. If it was made into an official product, Sega could easily make tons of money and get new developers like what they did a decade ago with Christian whitehead. Sonic Heroes was a defining time of Sonic's multiplatform experience. At least we have a playable and accessible, non-doomed for Wii U Lost World. Renderware is what held this game together, by having a port on the PC ( so I can play it on Steam Deck ), and honestly... Sonic Heroes is a headache to run on a modern PC if want to use the PC release... I own the disc for it, meanwhile Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 aren't, but the ports do suck.... To me, I like 2 campaigns of Sonic Heroes. Team Sonic and Team Dark as if you know how to rocket accelerate and think outside the box. You are fast and honestly prefer a full on platformer sonic in 3D. I want to get Sonic Frontiers as it has heart in it. Sonic Heroes would be easily the best choice for remakes, if on PC... As long as there is no Epic Games BS, I am happy. Imagine the mods that could be made with the flexibility of heroes. Also fixing the mandatory Amy and Chaotix campaigns would be nice. Sonic Heroes can finally get ported to a modern platform or be playable for younger people as... During 7th gen, you could have bought it off of the PSN, until 2011. So poor people like me got shafted as I was on PS2 till 2012! So I was on PS2 much longer and well. PS3 was a system my dad got... During its late life. Honestly the PS3 was the best system as it has aged better. Honestly I can't bring myself to hate Sonic Heroes as I love pure platforming levels, though the combat was tedious at times, but if got plenty of rocket boosting and using character abilities. I could skip over it quickly.
i can't say i agree fully because,imo 06 and heroes deserve a remake more than the other games mostly due to the fact they would get more changes than others game as Sa1,2 and unleashed really wouldn't get that many changes,they would mostly get remastered than a remake 06 imo definitely deserves it more than the others games,even tho i personally think 06 is overhated,there are lot unpolished things in the game and some story elements don't make sense(also the glitches), heroes would probably get more unique mechanics, different gameplay,and new story that involves metal sonic,there still at lot more things that they can do to fundamentally change heroes compared to Sa1,2 and unleashed,also heroes is one of the very few sonic games that gets mixed reviews Also i disagree with heroes being the worst sonic game, especially when forces exist,but even before forces the game imo is really good compared to most sonic games but i respect your opinion
I've taken some time to process and can't say I disagree, whilst I don't HATE Heroes I'd have rather either any of the other games on the list. My main gripe with Heroes was ruining Shadow's sacrifice in Adventure 2, but otherwise my opinions on the game are that it exists. Might give it another play in preparation for what's to come so I can tell the differences of the remake and the og better!

Heroes does have a PC port. An outdated bad one, but it is not like PC ports in this series have a good track record, a re-port(which isn't even on the table because the graphical frontend hasn't had support in decades) probably wouldn't be much better.

I just wonder why can't we get a remake of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed ? That game is underrated asf. They should bring it back and give it crossplay, more characters and more courses. I want Rouge to be one of the new characters that they add. I like Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and Team Sonic Racing, but Transformed is my favorite of the kart racing trilogy. It feels like they're trying to remake all of the mainline games. It's unnecessary to me.
I’ve never played Heroes, but always had an interest. If it actually gets remake, I’ll be pretty happy. Also I’m pretty sure (at least for me) the worst sonic game I’ve played is forces, and it wasn’t even like too awful (most of the time), just extremely boring. (Although the final boss theme and the ost in general will make me never hate the game).
Honestly if this leak is legit, then actually this is a good pick cuz let's be honest, Sega doesn't have a trustworthy track record of good remaster Sonic games. Them not doing Adventure remakes early must mean that they know fans will get pissed if it flops. Heroes on the other hand, let that game be a test run. If folks like the changes for gameplay, new voice acting, etc of Heroes remaster or remake, then cool that means Adventure 1, 2, 06, n Unleashed maybe next. Hopefully a remake would right the wrongs of Sonic Heroes and give us an actual worth while experience to compliment the great levels of heroes that dont control like shit, as well as expand on the team switching system and allow us to use the sub-moves that the flying characters have freely.

I disagree with you on Heroes being the worst pick out of the 5 games, for 3 reasons 1. The game has no modern rereleases, it literally can't due to the engine the game was made on, both Adventure games are pretty accessible, just from the Steam port being a port from a port from a port from a port you know they're pretty accessible And I know the same goes to 06 and Unleashed, but that's where points 2 and 3 come in 2. Oldest game that has no modern rereleases, 06 and Unleashed just like Heroes are pretty hard to access, but they are from one generation above Heroes, Unleashed, although it is nowhere near easy peazy to access since it can't be played on PC, still is possible to be played on a Series X/S easily, and 06, although it doesn't has the same luck, it still was released one gen after Heroes, on the PS3 and X360, instead of the PS2, OG Xbox, Gamecube and the old PC port 3. Second best selling 3D Sonic game, this game is symbolic, it was the first totally original Sonic game released to all the third party consoles, and it was made to present the series to all this new public, it made sure to present a majority of the Sonic cast and make a unique team coop playstyle with aesthetic and level design that mixes both classic and adventure games Not only that, but the game also sold really well, having the title of best selling 3D Sonic game for almost 20 years until Frontiers release that took Heroes podium, but the game still is really important and still is the 2nd best seeling 3D Sonic game, of course is nowhere near how the Genesis Classic games sold, but it still has a pretty good sold copies number I think Heroes definetly desearve this remake
To be far, against my nostalgia filled love for this game (it was my first) I'd say they probably went with it because its the SAFEST. No ones going to complain much if they mess this up BECAUSE its not one of the other picks, this was a very safe and smart choice. Going back to play it in my twenties though? Mfer is hard as hell to look at, like, WHAT HAPPENED. MY ROSE TINTED GLASSES NO.

Jokes aside, heroes makes a lot of sense from a logical standpoint. It's the best selling 3d sonic game, its reputation isn't terrible (that's why 06 still won't get ported for a long time imo) and if they fuck it up at least it's not the adventure games that are being botched

Sonic heroes has by far the most potential for a remake of all those sonic games.
-> First has the most unique mechanic of all of them (teams), which can be further encahnced and expanded.
-> Has by far the best set of levels (and most original) of the bunch: Adventure games have really good levels, but most themes are bland compared to Heroes.
Heroes has:
-> A beutiful sea level with, aquatic ruins emerging.
-> An awsome metroplis, which can never go wrong
-> Casino level in 3d.
-> Rails on top of mountains, with stations, trains, and an appealing color pallet.
-> Best jungle level in any sonic game.
-> A ghost mansion
-> A fucking sky fleet level, where ure destoying ships while progressing.
Now imagine those levels with current technology.

Well Forces is my second sonic game, so I kinda can't help but be bias for it, and 06 has some fun to it, and the "it's so bad it's good" type feeling. But Heroes is just the worst kinda bad for me.

To be fair, I view this Sonic Heroes remake is a very good idea as if it uses Unreal... Hands down it makes Sonic Heroes much better to mod and honestly Shadow X Generations is about to exist. So it maybe unnecessary.
If this is actually true, I like to look at this as more of a test for other remakes in the future. I can’t imagine sega would won’t to screw up SA1, SA2, or even an 06 remake (especially since they screwed up the original 06)
I think they are not confident enough on the new engine. So instead of screwing the adventure games with unfamiliar technology they are going to release this as a market test
Idk man, Sonic Heroes always had this weird effect on me where despite its janky physics and repetitive gameplay with different teams, I couldn’t help but find myself coming back to it every once in a while. I think a remake if done right would do the game a giant favor. I will say though, if there ever is a mainline Sonic game that deserves a remake the most, it would definitely have to be 06.

Iunno, a Sonic Heroes remake might not have been a bad choice. It probably was the only practical choice they had that fans haven't already remade themselves, and for free.
I mean what could they do with Unleashed that Sonic fans haven't done already? Rework the Werehog nobody liked? Port or remake the stages like literally every other sonic fan game or mod has done?
P06 is already made and still being worked on by fans.
Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 couldve been good choices, but I guess they wanted to do the unexpected.(and not have to work with multiple gameplay styles again.)
That just leaves Heroes.
Not a boost formula game, so nobody can just say a fan made this same thing years ago. Plus it would justify them not using the Hedgehog Engine.

Besides that I think Advenure 1 should have got the remake. Doing 06 would be a terrible idea and would make sonic a punching bag online for like a month straight despite of the quality, I think sonic team working with P06 would be the best approach since it would shine a more positive light on it like what happened with mania of "oh sonic fans are getting to work with sega to make sonic games, and they are fixing the worst game", I just think that would make people more open to the idea of 06 returning

please understand that sonic heroes had so much potential but it was brought down solely by the fact there was only one level designer working on it who worked day and night and literally almoat died to get the game out in time and the development team was unfamiliar with the engine and was rushed to release the game in a ridicolously short amount of time and in platforms they did not originally planned for plus mandates changed the vision of the game a lot which was originally meant to be a celebration of the adventure series into making sonic kid friendly so there were soo many cool scrapped concepts that didnt see the light of the day
so the game is basicalky like xtreme, 06, boom and forces but all combined into one, and it had so much potential but even then just fixing the controls and revamping the levels alone would make it amazing, plus remember that this is one of the best selling sonic titles and the first multiplatform sonic game and for many the first introduction into the sonic series, so yeah it does have its fans too
so yeah maybe it is good for sonic team to get familiar with remaking games by doing this before making adventure remakes or unleashed

On a more serious note I think this is a good thing. The original Sonic heroes was developed and rushed because the developers were forced to develop it on hardware that they were not familiar with. One of the developers got insomnia mainly because they were forced to be put on a deadline, causing the game to have multiple versions of it that are incomplete with tons of concepts and levels scrapped. This is a good thing because they get to go back and actually complete the vision that they originally had. The same with Sonic generations, they're expanding on old games and fixing their mistakes. I for one am glad that the Sonic series isn't doing the usual "Make a game and move onto the next one without ironing out the flaws of the last one" thing they do. They saw that people liked how they improved frontiers so hopefully they do the same here.
And I get that playing heroes is frustrated but u gotta give this a chance man I'm sure we'll get an unleashed remaster or an 06 remake someday 💀

Forces was just really mediocre, but Heroes is like actively bad imo
2:24 Game works fine, looks like some people have skill issue (well, some scripted runs on some maps were a bit broken, I agree). I never had problem with homing attack there, control of characters was pretty smooth, the only thing that annoyed me in my childhood is broken rail-jumps, those totally need to be fixed. + game really need more lvls and fix some of the missions of Chaotix team, Im really hyped for this remake, can't wait to beat Metal Madness with its both fire OST`s (the whole game has incredible soundtrack, if SEGA gonna make sort of remixes of those, DAMN, THATS GONNA BE FIRE)
I really like all old 3d sonic games [SA, SA2, Heroes, Riders (tho its not really platformer game)] and I think they all deserve to get at least playable 60FPS HD remaster on all moder platforms, I never played Unleashed, 06 and Colors because there never been PC port. I think its gonna be great time to get back in sonic franchise because my last game was Generations back in 2013.

GDubA... Sonic Heroes easily deserves it more than Adventure as this game hasn't gotten rereleased due to licensing headaches from EA. Sonic adventure got rereleased on multiplatforms, I know it maybe 7th generation, but if you got a PC, You can easily play it officially for Adventure 1 and 2.... I never said the ports were decent, but some modding and boom-bock-bang! You got it! While fans are remaking Sonic-06. If it was made into an official product, Sega could easily make tons of money and get new developers like what they did a decade ago with Christian whitehead.
Sonic Heroes was a defining time of Sonic's multiplatform experience. At least we have a playable and accessible, non-doomed for Wii U Lost World. Renderware is what held this game together, by having a port on the PC ( so I can play it on Steam Deck ), and honestly...
Sonic Heroes is a headache to run on a modern PC if want to use the PC release... I own the disc for it, meanwhile Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 aren't, but the ports do suck....
To me, I like 2 campaigns of Sonic Heroes. Team Sonic and Team Dark as if you know how to rocket accelerate and think outside the box. You are fast and honestly prefer a full on platformer sonic in 3D. I want to get Sonic Frontiers as it has heart in it.
Sonic Heroes would be easily the best choice for remakes, if on PC... As long as there is no Epic Games BS, I am happy. Imagine the mods that could be made with the flexibility of heroes. Also fixing the mandatory Amy and Chaotix campaigns would be nice. Sonic Heroes can finally get ported to a modern platform or be playable for younger people as... During 7th gen, you could have bought it off of the PSN, until 2011. So poor people like me got shafted as I was on PS2 till 2012! So I was on PS2 much longer and well. PS3 was a system my dad got... During its late life. Honestly the PS3 was the best system as it has aged better. Honestly I can't bring myself to hate Sonic Heroes as I love pure platforming levels, though the combat was tedious at times, but if got plenty of rocket boosting and using character abilities. I could skip over it quickly.
i can't say i agree fully because,imo 06 and heroes deserve a remake more than the other games mostly due to the fact they would get more changes than others game as Sa1,2 and unleashed really wouldn't get that many changes,they would mostly get remastered than a remake
06 imo definitely deserves it more than the others games,even tho i personally think 06 is overhated,there are lot unpolished things in the game and some story elements don't make sense(also the glitches), heroes would probably get more unique mechanics, different gameplay,and new story that involves metal sonic,there still at lot more things that they can do to fundamentally change heroes compared to Sa1,2 and unleashed,also heroes is one of the very few sonic games that gets mixed reviews

I've taken some time to process and can't say I disagree, whilst I don't HATE Heroes I'd have rather either any of the other games on the list. My main gripe with Heroes was ruining Shadow's sacrifice in Adventure 2, but otherwise my opinions on the game are that it exists. Might give it another play in preparation for what's to come so I can tell the differences of the remake and the og better!

unleashed project mod exists for generations on PC and current Xbox consoles can run the entire game at 60fps (this is my favorite sonic game tbh it doesnt really need much tweaking besides the medals)

Heroes does have a PC port. An outdated bad one, but it is not like PC ports in this series have a good track record, a re-port(which isn't even on the table because the graphical frontend hasn't had support in decades) probably wouldn't be much better.

I just wonder why can't we get a remake of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed ? That game is underrated asf. They should bring it back and give it crossplay, more characters and more courses. I want Rouge to be one of the new characters that they add. I like Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and Team Sonic Racing, but Transformed is my favorite of the kart racing trilogy. It feels like they're trying to remake all of the mainline games. It's unnecessary to me.
I’ve never played Heroes, but always had an interest. If it actually gets remake, I’ll be pretty happy. Also I’m pretty sure (at least for me) the worst sonic game I’ve played is forces, and it wasn’t even like too awful (most of the time), just extremely boring. (Although the final boss theme and the ost in general will make me never hate the game).
Honestly if this leak is legit, then actually this is a good pick cuz let's be honest, Sega doesn't have a trustworthy track record of good remaster Sonic games. Them not doing Adventure remakes early must mean that they know fans will get pissed if it flops. Heroes on the other hand, let that game be a test run. If folks like the changes for gameplay, new voice acting, etc of Heroes remaster or remake, then cool that means Adventure 1, 2, 06, n Unleashed maybe next. Hopefully a remake would right the wrongs of Sonic Heroes and give us an actual worth while experience to compliment the great levels of heroes that dont control like shit, as well as expand on the team switching system and allow us to use the sub-moves that the flying characters have freely.

Edit: they tried remaking the first adventure game and it kept getting worse with every port would you REALLY want an even worse SA1? Or a hindered SA2? Not to mention every other game on this list besides heroes has something going for it: 06 has Project 06 and I’m fairly certain Sega is just gonna leave that to the fans and Unleashed is GOOD it’s mainly a matter of framerate and the “Slowness” of Werehog so that mainly would just warrant a remaster. Heroes is the only one that makes logical sense: the Controls get a redemption, Metal Sonic is a key reason why people keep talking about this game, and it’s just a good romp.

I disagree with you on Heroes being the worst pick out of the 5 games, for 3 reasons
1. The game has no modern rereleases, it literally can't due to the engine the game was made on, both Adventure games are pretty accessible, just from the Steam port being a port from a port from a port from a port you know they're pretty accessible
And I know the same goes to 06 and Unleashed, but that's where points 2 and 3 come in
2. Oldest game that has no modern rereleases, 06 and Unleashed just like Heroes are pretty hard to access, but they are from one generation above Heroes, Unleashed, although it is nowhere near easy peazy to access since it can't be played on PC, still is possible to be played on a Series X/S easily, and 06, although it doesn't has the same luck, it still was released one gen after Heroes, on the PS3 and X360, instead of the PS2, OG Xbox, Gamecube and the old PC port
3. Second best selling 3D Sonic game, this game is symbolic, it was the first totally original Sonic game released to all the third party consoles, and it was made to present the series to all this new public, it made sure to present a majority of the Sonic cast and make a unique team coop playstyle with aesthetic and level design that mixes both classic and adventure games
Not only that, but the game also sold really well, having the title of best selling 3D Sonic game for almost 20 years until Frontiers release that took Heroes podium, but the game still is really important and still is the 2nd best seeling 3D Sonic game, of course is nowhere near how the Genesis Classic games sold, but it still has a pretty good sold copies number

To be far, against my nostalgia filled love for this game (it was my first) I'd say they probably went with it because its the SAFEST. No ones going to complain much if they mess this up BECAUSE its not one of the other picks, this was a very safe and smart choice.
