    Thanks for the tip on the vertical mount. I encountered the issue last night and shot with just a ball head. I'll add the nodal rail mount to my Polaris kit.

    Hi, great tip.
    My Benro TMA38CL tripod comes with a smaller center column (Benro ASC31) whose platform is the same size as the base of the Benro Polaris. The larger central column needs to be removed, but the job is small. I believe other tripod brands have this accessory.
    About new videos, I suggest detailing the Astro mode, especially the calibration and alignment with a celestial body. I'm based in Brazil and I'm having a lot of trouble getting these features right with BP. Hug.

      Thank you for your feedback - appreciated. Yes, I will do a detailed video on Astro set-up and alignment. I need a little warmer weather and some clear skies. Best regards.

    Shiv, thank you for your video and continued instruction. (I attended one of your workshops a few years ago at Hunt's Photo.) A few suggestions based on what you have observed. I had the same problem regarding knob clearance for my Benro GD3WH 3-axis tripod head, and rather than just an extension, I went with a leveling base which gave me both the clearance and a quick way to level the tripod (crucial for astro and panoramas). Second, for the tape I use the glow-in-the-dark self-stick so that I can not only make the marks, but have them visible at night without any additional light. I just subscribed, and hope to see you again!

    • @ShivVermaphotography
      @ShivVermaphotography  Рік тому

      Thanks, Bill. Yes, using a glow in the dark tape is a great idea. I too use a leveling base but both my Pro media gear and Fotopro bases cause issues with interference. My most preferred way is to use a good geared head that makes leveling a breeze. Thank you for subscribing. Regards.

    Regarding “nodal rail,” the no parallax point is often (mistakenly) referred to as the “nodal point.” I too have been using a nodal rail for mounting onto the Benro Polaris , but discovered the Arca-Swiss clamp knob at the end of the rail would sometimes come into contact with one of the Polaris motor knobs.

    • @ShivVermaphotography
      @ShivVermaphotography  Рік тому

      You are correct that can be an issue - however the big rubber knob can be removed to provide clearance.

    • @moshesalama
      @moshesalama Рік тому

      I wonder if using a 1:13 device like Atoll on top of the nodal rail bumps into one of the motor knobs

    • @ShivVermaphotography
      @ShivVermaphotography  Рік тому

      @@moshesalama I do not have an Atoll but if it sits on top of the rail there should be no problem except if the camera is in portrait orientation. I would need to get a unit to validate that.

    I haven't watched all of your Polaris videos so you may have already covered this. I'm curious if the Benro app will allow you to set up multi-row panoramas. Thanks for the video instruction.

    • @ShivVermaphotography
      @ShivVermaphotography  Рік тому

      Thank you for watching this video. Yes, the Polaris can do multi-row panoramas and also tracked panoramas in Astro mode.

    Hi Shiv! Stumbled across your UTube page. I met you at Unique Photo in Fairfield, NJ. I bought the Polaris. I'm still trying to figure out how to use it. I'm hoping your video helps.--Pat

    Thank you for the video. I got the riser 2 days after figuring out the tripod issue :)
    Can you make a video on astro panorama? meaning tracked panorama.
    Also, I assume you are using the gimbal to balance the nodal rail, but not installing the gimbal on the benro, right?

    • @ShivVermaphotography
      @ShivVermaphotography  Рік тому +2

      Thank you for your feedback. I am working on creating additional videos and will include tracked panoramas into the mix. I am using the gimbal only for balancing the camera/lens combinations. I have also found out that soon the unit will align using 2 star alignment in a release coming soon.

      @@ShivVermaphotography one more question - you mentioned that they released 2 physical versions. Are you sure about that? I haven't heard anything about a 2.0 version of the Polaris. I got mine about 2 months ago.

      @@ShivVermaphotography That was not a prior version, it was merely the original prototype. They communicated this on the original Kickstarter campaign that they needed to re-design the physical body to better support the features they wanted to add (e.g. stronger gearing for longer lenses, etc.).

    hi sir . how you find the Nodal point on the nodal rail ?

    • @ShivVermaphotography
      @ShivVermaphotography  4 місяці тому +1

      There are a lot of videos on this - look up nodal point or no parallax point. The correct term is no parallax point. Let me know if you don not find it and I will do a short video on the topic.

      @@ShivVermaphotography Hi thank you so much for responding. yes i know what zero paralax is i have a nodal ninja for hires 360 vr imaging. didnt know that the polaris needed also the zero paralex. but how to setup the body for the nodal point .. i dont know . with the nodal ninja it is easy the way you set the camera in the sliders . than i set two poles in front of the camera and turn the camera slowely and looking true the viewvinder. i set the camera more to the front or back until there is only one pole in the viewvinder when you turn ,,, easy peacy ..

    • @ShivVermaphotography
      @ShivVermaphotography  4 місяці тому

      @voederbietels In hat case make a mark with a white or silver felt pen on the Arca Swiss rail attache dot your camera or lens and use that to position your camera or lens as the case may be on the center point of the Polaris. The Polaris does not have any marks but you can measure the clam and obtain the center. Mark that too.

    shiv, i want to take standard multi row panoramas [not astro] with my polaris. could you please explain or make a video on how to program the app to make the panorama. when i try to program the app to take 6 pics of two rows it only takes 3 pics of the beginning and 3 pics of the end points . there is nothing in between.i've tried a number of times with no results.i tried to use the pro mode but that didn't work either.thank you
