- Welcome to another week of my Summer Homeschool Prep series! During this week's video I set up my yearly calendar as well as our scripture memory box. Additionally, I started collecting documentary ideas and finding audiobook options. How is your summer going?

I would love to see a video on how you set your binder up this year!
I can do that!!
@@sciencemama Thank you!
Yes! Please make a video on your memory verse box.
Love you Angie! I too, sometimes get overwhelmed with the planning process. But in the end it’s so worth it to feel like you have a plan. But I have found myself just putting it all down just like you did lol. 📚
Thanks for a motivating video! I loved the idea of a sticky on the month for science supplies I can’t put in a tote early. Thanks!
I can resonate with you because I am constantly telling myself to calm down too 😂. This is why we love Sonlight. Even in hard life seasons, just doing the "bare minimum" (meaning completing the HBL) I am already doing so much with my kids. It's such an amazing program and I'm so thankful to have found it! Love your videos. They help keep me inspired when things get mundane!
I love the idea of using notion for planning but I’m so overwhelmed by notion. Will you please make a video on how you use notion for homeschooling?
That is a good idea!
📚 love your vids, Angie!
I’m inspired to plan for our school year now. 🤗
Thank you!
📚 great video thanks
As a first year homeschool mom, this was not boring at all! I've been spinning trying to plan and not knowing where to start and I was completely on the edge of my seat! It was so helpful! I love your videos! Thanks for bringing me through this with you!!
So glad it was helpful :)
Loved it all. My brain works similar to yours so the little steps and tricks were very useful for me.
📚 thanks for sharing!
Really love your planning and prepping videos. We think the same in a lot of ways 😄 It's great to see other people's processes
we just went back today! it was good to be back in a routine!
📚 Have a great school year!
📚 love a good organizing and preparing video ❤️
Walk the World’s Rim was overall a really good book. Don’t skip!
📚
Love your videos and they are the reason I will be using Sonlight this year for the first time with my son - level HBL-D😀! So I was planning on just following the IG’s but it sounds like you don’t quite follow their schedule. Is there a reason for that? Thanks again for all the wonderful information you share!
Honestly I use the IG as my base schedule and I use it as written most of the time … I’ve just learned over the years what works for me and what is a bit much which then I will adjust. I would recommend just using it as is and see if that works well for you and your family!
Oh don’t skip Justin Morgan had a horse! The audiobook is good! And yes, Walk the World’s Rim is hard but also good. Most books in D & E are hard, but they are great choices!
I found the audiobook, so we probably won't skip it :)
Justin Morgan is good! My kids enjoyed all of her horse books…Misty of Chiconteague is actually based on a real place on the east coast (VA) which could be included in your trip.
Have you ever looked into those "Who HQ" books for history and/or science? They're written on a third or fourth grade level, and my ninth grade struggling readers love them.
can you please share more info about the memory verse box and playlist :) 😊thanks❤
Sure :)
How do you use audiobooks in your school? (Welcome other's thoughts also.)
Also, what was the name of the audio app besides Libby?
Everand is the other audiobook app we use, but it is a paid subsciption!
Where do you get the year-at-glance calendar from, please? Also, the folder you use for your binder, please?
I use this website for calendars:7calendar.com/en/calendar/ And the binder is a 5-star Flex binder!
What are your thoughts on math? I'm torn for my first grader. Looking at Saxon, horizons and cle.
Oh man - I don't know about CLE but I'm pretty sure Saxon and Horizons are similar in that they are both traditional and spiral! Horizons is in color thought!

📚❤️
Where did you get the box that you put scriptures in?
I think it was just a recipe box off of Amazon 🤷🏼♀️
📚🎉😊
🙂📚
This is really helpful. Are you open to a 1:1 consult? I need some help.
Try emailing me - I'm not the best at checking but I can look for an email!
