- Опубліковано 15 жов 2024
- Final Fantasy games are known for their epic scope and large cast of characters, but that doesn’t mean all of them are created equally. In this list, we’ll put the cone of shame on the worst party members we were forced to endure just to save the world and reach the credits. For this list, we’ll suffer through the likes of Quistis, Quina, Hope, Ignis and unfortunately many more. We’re not saying they’re unbearable, just that we roll our eyes when they come on screen. Which character did you dread having in your party? Let us know in the comments.

Anyone & everyone in FF13. FF13 is the only FF game where I didn't come across a single likable character period.
that's vaan not van so get it straight please🤔🙏
@DragonHeart613 ff13 and beyond is where the original story of final fantasy was left behind and replaced with a new one🤔🙏
@@nancyhoffman4784 Just FF13. Beyond FF13, FF has had its ups & downs but none of those downs even remotely compare to the undisputed blacksheep that is FF13.
FF14 was crap until Yoshi-P arrived to save that game & turned it into a legit World of Warcraft killer. In an age where MMORPGs are a dying breed & uninspired garbage Live-Service games have unfortunately all but completely replaced traditional MMO games, FF14 thankfully continues to remain strong & consistently provides players with quality content, updates & phenomenal expansion packs.
FF15 is flawed and had a hellish development cycle no doubt & its Open-World was not done well but FF15 is still a decent game. Its not the greatest FF game but it still has solid story, characters, gameplay & an amazing soundtrack courtesy of the legendary Yoko Shimomura.
FF16 has a few questionable creative decisions that were made by its development team like the shocking lack of real RPG mechanics & the glaring absence of a character party but overall FF16 is a fun great quality game. The combat is awesome, the Game of Thrones-inspired plot & characters & writing are magnificent, the world of FF16 is epic & compelling, the voice acting is top-notch, the music by Masayoshi Soken is quite possibly one of the greatest FF soundtracks of all-time and FF16 also introduces cool new features like the Active Time Lore system. Seriously the ATL system should be featured in every FF game moving forward as it's such a helpful feature to give you additional context about characters, events & other in-game lore that you've just experienced as well as helping you keep up to date on the story so far in case you forget about certain details.
The FF7 Remake Trilogy thus far with the first 2 games has been a true epic masterclass of how to do a video game remake right. So many reasons to praise both FF7 Remake & FF7 Rebirth that I'd be here writing more & more.
So yeah, Post-FF13 the series has not been as awful as some claim it to be. Tons of over-exageration. There's been way more good than bad. Again only FF13 is where the series really really screwed up big-time.
Tell me you dont play final fantasy without telling me you dont play final fantasy
TIL WatchMojo probably doesn't know how to properly use blue mages.
No kidding...
They've always been hard to balence.
I'm mostly familiar with FFIX and I do think Quina is overrated. I know Quina can be super strong if you invest in them but I personally don't consider them to be worth the investment. Eating enemies can be really annoying and iirc the enemy skills aren't that great until nearly the end of the game. So I personally consider Quina to be not as good as a lot of people say they are. Not sure if I'd call them the worst party member in FFIX, but I'm not sure who I would give that label to.
@@nerdycatlover8627 They give you amaranth so late, never bonded with the guy as a character, never wanted to.
To be fair, most don't. I don't particularly like them either. I generally prefer a more straight forward approach, to be honest.
Quistis + Degenarator is among the most powerful/broken techniques in the game
I can't believe you picked Quina in a game where Amarant exists
Probably forgot he exists.
I liked him. Was a decent fighter.
For me, it's Garnet. Amarant was the jack of all trades for me. I prefer Eiko over Garnet, but Garnet's Trance is OP out of the trances
Or Quistis when Irvine exists
@@Ausdoerrt The problem with Quistis is you have to know how to build her. It took me years to figure out that she is a magic character (blue mage) and I didnt realize her main stat was Magic, which boosts the damage on her Blue Magic Limits until you get Degenerator. When starting out (going to Fire Cavern) you really want to ignore the compatability of the GFs and focus more on what stats they help. Give Quistis Quezecotl and he will boost up her magic.
Actually for FF6, Gau is a beast, Strago is the actual blue mage.
Well somebody said it... Gau's equipment is among the best in the game (Snow scarf + Dueling mask). And some rages are just game breaking (Magic Urn, Rafflesia, Io...) He's the most adaptable character in the game, so, definitely not just not the worst character in the game, but probably the best... The worst would be Umaro by far, and then Cyan.
I think that it is a half truth because when Gau uses a Rage he does use their weapon, magic, lore and abilities.
Cyan's biggest strength is well... his strength stat. Due to his lack of mechanical knowledge his Magic stat is sorely lacking. So its fits as his weakness rather well. He is really good with his Bushido given a high strength stat from level ups.
@@ff3player Gau has no Lores nor weapons to use...
@@RyanBlazeheartBushido takes forever to charge... I've seen several times Cyan diing before he would be able to even use 1 skill... My list would be:
1-2. Gau/Terra (depending of the area or boss)
3. Celes
4. Relm
5-6. Edgar/Mog (because of their defense + jump build)
7. Shadow (due to easy evasion cap)
8. Strago (too weak defense to compete against the other mages)
9. Setzer (Fixed dice + Master scroll + Imp build. Almost unkillable, but weak to statuses)
10. Locke (High damage and some versatility due to natural high speed, but hugging the ground too often)
11. Gogo (Low defense and hp, but adaptable)
12. Sabin (miserable defense + low scaling skills 😮in post game)
13. Leo (just usable once)
14.
15. Cyan (always out of my team)
16.
17.
18. Banon
19...
...
37. Umaro (Not even playable per se)
(edit - spelling)
This guy doesnt know how to use Blue Magic efficiently. I get Kimahri, but Quistis and Quina were two of the BEST Blue Mages of the series
no character is bad in 10 with the sphere system
I really disliked Quina, as I found them annoying. Ability wise they can do some devastating things, their personality is what gets me. As for Quitis, I really liked her. I've never been a fan of blue mages, but she always felt really good to use to me. I often had her in my party when it was optional. I later on really dug using Irvine and Rinoa, but Quitis will always have a place in my heart.
@@kingjamos2422 in a lot of No Junction Challenges, Quistis is vital as her Blue Magic will be able to bestow you with Buff spells you wont have access to as well as instant killing any monsters that are posing too much of a problem. Even in a normal playthrough, Blue Magic can be powerful when used correctly. Something that is blatantly obvious that the guy who made this list doesnt know how to use propery lol
They're journalists, what can you expect from them? They even need their own difficulty
i kill.dragon.in gizamalugate because quina deal.damage 9999😅
Quistis’ Shockwave Pulsar is legendary. She gas a great variety of abilities that make her versatile to support different builds.
Ignis is actually the GOAT of FFXV
His dlc is legit one of the greatest arcs in the franchise
right, I played the OG edition in 2017, Ignis was my least favorite until I finished the royal edition a few days ago. Mommy Iggy is the best of the 4
I think just hearing him chime in to say hes figured out a new recipe is appealing enough. 15 was for the girls xause honestly playing it i cant find fault in the characters. Its like the strongest element the plot kinda goes eveerywhere theres even kinda a psuedo horror sequence and a coupld of godly asura level fights. But the characters theyre sinplicity allows that personality to shine and thats one thing ya can never say 15 lacks. Strong personality.
Final fantasy has 3 major ethos. The first is FIGHT, the second is dramatic writing, the 3rd is oneness with the people and nature. Which is why so many final fantasy games drag displaced monarchy through the whole world interacting with everyday people and helping them.
Cait Sith: “I f***ing hate my job!”
Vincent: ...I think they hate you.
Mog: At least I'm being thought of.
Honestly I’d say Umaro is worse than Gau by a lot
Say Quistis is bad, proof you never added status effects to her atks, her whips are the best to cause status.
Cait Sith and Quistis is not that bad
Cait has an ability called Slot on which can one shot any enemy be it final boss and cait is also used on speedrun tactics
Meanwhile quistis is the only character in FF8 that can break the damage cap that can exceed 9999 damage with her limit break call Shockwave Pulsar
I will argue that Cait is annoying but mechanic wise, Vincent is probably the worst in ff7
For FF7 I can't Rig the game over slot and he's pure CRAP without it but in FF8 IMHO the WORST party member is Selphie sure Full Cure IS useful as a limit but unless you can trigger her The End limit for bosses she still kind of SUCKS and is not worth using after Mid disc 2 after you blow up the Military base on disc 2 Selphie in no longer in my party.
FF6 only had 1 worse party member UMARO even at lv 99 is PURE CRAP even with no RAGES besides the Default ones Gau by games end can still fire 2x 9999 damage Ultima spells which is why Unmaro in FF6 even at lv 99 is pure CRAP Cyan isn't worth using for Kefka's Tower/Phoenix cave even at lv 99 either but at least He's more useful then Umaro.
Khimari ONLY sucks FFX because of it being a OVER drive so he only gets 1 shot out of it.
mojo didnt know quistis degeneratio, i used to kill high hp non boss enemy like.tyrex
Quistis Blackhole was very useful on endgame hunting for huge EXP and items.
@@zhuonxiang this. I used her to help beat Omega Weapon and Blackhole did stupid damage to it with the right setup.
Dang it Mojoplays you forgot to call Edward a spoony bard.
So what I'm getting is:
1. Dude can't Blue Mage
2. Dude can't Kimahri
3. Dude can't pronounce *Vaan* properly
4. Dude thinks Ignis is bad
Vaan is so irrelevant and forgettable that I don't even care how he pronounces it.
@@SeventhheavenDK he acts so much like a Side character than being a main character, if Balthier or Basch were the main character.. It would have been a lot better, yeah I know Basch was originally supposed to be one himself
First off they don’t know how to properly use blue mages
Frrr idk how to use quina but khimari can have the same damage as auron
Gau is absolutely broken in FFVI. 🤦
@@jaimereupert4247 you can beat the game with just rafflesia😂
You guys don’t even know how powerful quina is! Quina is the only character in the game that can kill grand dragons on the plateau of gizmalukes grotto. All you need is limit glove blue magic, a coral ring, 1hp and some luck.
Kills a grand dragon in 2 hits at level 15.
Other notable blue magic includes mighty guard and white wind.
Night is useful if everyone has insomnia ability. Causes all enemies to sleep for like 8 mp
Today I learned MojoPlays is bad at video games.
Penelo is clearly the worst party member in ff12 the fact that you said Vaan is wild
While penelo is weak in the original final fantasy XII, but with the shikari/bushi strat on vaan kinda dumbs vaan down for alot of the game
I hate Vaan for no reason
Vaan is not an Hero imo - Personality like Milktoast 😔
@@svenseike4496 Vaan ain't that bad, but to think Balthier was supposed to be the protagonist of FF12, but they thought a teenage character will more appealing to teenagers playing the game...
@@zachmiller8602 there's better jobs to make Vaan useful like Foebreaker or Kinght or Uhlan because of high strength and HP points
Quina is probably the most OP character in FF9. Garnet is probably the worst character since she's either mute for half of the game or gets bested by eiko with much more potent white magic skills.
Quistis... degenerator... shockwave pulsar... definitely not the worst FF8 member.
Yea, but Dagger gets the Ark summons. Ark with the boost ability and auto regen puts your party at full hp every turn
@@JohnDoe-td3xx with enough spirit, even Eiko's madeeen can heal your party's hp to full. Madeen's animation is already at 40s which is good enough to full HP your party.
Selphie the worst. Especially with her limit being a constant slot of chance. Quistis is the most OP for grinding and early game
Ignis is great. The worst is Gladius, he bullies Noctis and makes him feel bad after Ignis goes blind, plus he won’t shut up about cup noodles
gladius estava lá pra fazer o noctis seguir um frente, ele falava oque tinha que ser dito por mais que a verdade machucasse
That game is not even liked enough for people to care about the positioning of its boring characters in this list.
Gau is a beast if properly managed.
Hey! Don't mess with my boy Ignis! He's the best of the bunch!
Ignis, really he is worshipped on certain parts of the internet. In my world, gladios, was always the least useful
Vaan actually says "I'm just along for the ride" when the party is asked why they are going on thier journey. Be assembled everyone together through hapstance, and that was it.
Oh Quistis, my first video game crush…
she is actually very good to
And tragically, the only one who was still single by the end.
After all the crap she put up with.
@@Ubu90 facts. They’re haters
@@Jeezes718 sad right?
@@Jeezes718 Don't worry, Squall cheats on Rinoa with Quitis many times after the game ends. You just don't see it, or hear about it... or brought up by Square. I'm totally not in denial! I... I'm just going to go cry in that corner now.
What they mean Ignis is the worst- 😤 the disrespect
Episode Ignis was so much more fun than Episode Prompto because Ignis is a blade-dancing beast of battle. He doesn't need a partner to retake an entire city, nor does he hesitate to put his life on the line for Noctis. True, there is that one stretch of the game where he is objectively the worst one by miles, but that was deliberate. He also keeps everyone alive with his Regroup tactic or pulls elemental magic from nowhere to turn the tables (and his British snark added to the English dub is exquisite). The game is harder without Prompto's humor and ranged attack, but it is much harder without Ignis and his devoted support.
@@browncoatkevin Ineed, Episode Ignis is the best part of FF15. Episode Prompto ain't bad, just not as good. Both stories should have been a part of the main game though. Episode Gladioulus though... that had zero sense.
Can’t believe you picked Ignis over Gladio
Or Prompto
os 4 são bons personagens
Quistis has degenerator, enough said.
basically blue mage is hated
What heck is a blue mage anyways? I know that a white mage is the healer, black mage is the offense magic user, red mage is a combination, at least in final fantasy universe, of white and black mages who can use some weapons as well, but what the heck is a blue mage?
@whitewolf3051 never played a final fantasy? Blue mages learn spells from monster.
@@whitewolf3051 blue mages are charcters that specialise on copying/learning enemies skills
Not gonna lie I never had a good experience with Blue Mage in any Final Fantasy Game.
@@whitewolf3051 blue mages are in essence a living enemy skill materia from final fantasy vii
This video shows whoever made the list has NO idea how Blue Mages work. I'd understand if they said luck based characters are the worst (because them being good is entirely chance based), but most of this is personality based, not mechanics based.
You lost me at Quistis.
Quistis is actually a powerful party member... Her Mighty Guard can cast Gaste, Regen, Shell, Protect, Float AND AURA. She can get White Wind early on which is actually more reliable than Full-Cure and Angelo Recover. Degenerator kills ALMOST EVERYTHING(can be spammed on IC2H/H to level up other party members and GFs and her Shockwave Pulsar can break the damage cap.... There is no bad party member in FF8. You just don't know how to use blue mages.
Gau is a CRAZY choice, just encounter a stray cat and you literally just won the game. Hes not the worst by a long shot
Quina? Quistis? VAAN?!?!
Girl... The nerve...
Okay, Quistis is FAR from bad! Especially since Degenerator is a need for the Islands of Heaven and Hell
Agreed wholeheartedly, but it probably came down to Quistis vs. Irvine for the VIII spot (temporary members are clearly excluded from this list save for IV and arguably VI). Squall is Squall, Selphie's best weapon has perfect accuracy (and the miniscule chance of The End in her free magic Slots), Rinoa is Rinoa with free magic in Angel Wing, and Zell is a Dueling beast. Blue Magic, though potent and varied, is generally single-hit while Irv's Ammo can hit multiple times.
If temporary characters were included, Seifer and Edea would both rank well below Instructor Trepe in gameplay.
I like Kimari as a character but I hated him as a party member! I hate how he has to have his overdrive to use him as a blue mage.
Quitis the worst? Nah Irvine the worst!
While not completing FF8, no thanks to train stopping mini game, I rather wanted her to be paired up with Squall.
Yeah I’m even considering her fine
How about best/worst job of each final fantasy game, that way the games that couldn't make THIS list can get a chance to shine
I think quistis is unfairly critizised as degenerator is one of the most overpowered limit breaks in the entire series
Title should be top 10 times watchmojo proved it cant be bothered to learn how blue mages work
Edward may be weak at classic FF4 games indeed. But, fortunately, the 3D version (DS and Steam) turned him into an excellent support character. His Bard songs have high effect in battle, specially the last one, that make ATB bars run at an insane speed. And the best part is thats his Bard skills can be used by other characters once he leaves the party.
Also Edward in the 3ds version is actually one of the most powerful characters at Lvl 99 if I recall right. When you start getting him near the end from what I have read, not something I have personally done, his stats sky rocket and he ends up with stupidly high stat block I think Yang also has this issue. Most likely it was because they never expected anyone to get them that high so they werent balanced would be my guess.
@@revanninjaI think you meant GBA/PSP since he never rejoins in 3D versions.
@@Kruggov NOPE. Its in the 3d version specifically hence why I think they didnt play test him because it would be super hard to get him to the High end levels.
My understanding since I have only read about this never done this myself is in the 3ds at high levels Edwards stat increases suddenly jump super high and he ends up a monster as a result of it when he reaches max level.
The fact in the 3ds he never rejoins and it would be extremely hard to level him that high is probably why it was never discovered or balanced.
@@revanninja Hm. *Everyone*'s stats jump super high once you hit level 70+ due to how the game handles stat growths at those levels. It's easy to set your skills so everyone gets +5 to all stats per level. Edward is not unique in that in 3D versions, while in 2D versions he genuinely has the best stat growth at high levels.
@@Kruggov My understanding is he gets higher in the 3ds version MUCH higher then everyone else without having to manipulate anything he naturally at higher levels jumps in stats.
Dont know why you are so hung up on this to be honest. Its just a neat little factoid that most players wont ever see.
I disagree with Kimahri! He could use Lancet the most early stage than the others. And learned so many different overdrives! And I liked his quiet personality, some of the others talked too much!
I agree with you, but I absolutely saw this coming. He’s one of the most unique characters and you could go any direction you want with him on the sphere grid but it takes effort.
there is no worst party member in 15
just least best
So yeah your argument on Quistis shows you didnt pay attention. Quistis is the youngest instructor period in all the gardens and is extremely popular but because of that she is under a lot of pressure and given Seifer to control and teach. Quistis was literally set up to fail and probably intentionally when you realize there is a power struggle going on. So story wise her personality and issues make sense when you realize she is a pawn getting used hard with tons of pressure being put on her.
As for her as a Party member Magic is her biggest skill from what I recall so if you keep her stocked with magic she is fairly powerful. Her blue Magic due to needing materials to unlock is a bit tricky but once you get her going she is actually extremely powerful as she has a wide range of attacks that you can pick from letting you easily tailor to match your foe. And Shockwave pulsar I think it was called is flat out the most powerful attack in the game as it can break the damage cap naturally. And Aura makes the issue of health not an issue when you find draw spots of it.
How is Gau worse than Umaro? How is Quina worse than Garnet/Dagger?
I get umaro, but what's wrong with Garnet, aside from her mental breakdown in disc 3? Unless you mean that.
Wait what? How is Garnet being mentioned here? She's one of the better more fleshed out characters in FF9, Her story progression is great, And her magic is fantastic. I agree Quina isn't exactly the WORST in FF9 (Tho he basically just likes to eat lol) But Dagger is nowhere remotely close to being the worst. I think a lot of people would agree with me that Amarant is EASILY the worst in FF9 IMO, Like all around there's not much going for him, Hell, He even looks awful lol They could have just totally done without him and the story wouldn't change whatsoever.
Garnet/Dagger is the White Mage and thus practically essential
@@butterschunkmcdonalds5333 Exactly. I really wish Beatrice had joined up as your eighth member instead of Amarant.
Fang was alright.
You gave it to Gau and not the random ass Yeti you quite literally cant control or develop??
No way you picked Hope over Snow 😭💀
Most of this list is just straight up hating👎
I do agree however with FF7's Cait Sith. At least the character was vastly improved in FF7 Rebirth. As far as FF13 goes, EVERY CHARACTER in FF13 should've been included not just only one. FF13 has the worst most obnoxious cast of characters in the series period!
Apparently this guy hates Blue Mages.
Quistis for me was a must with her Degenerator and Shockwave Pulsar abilities.
Might Guard and white wind to
Cait Sith wasn’t so intresting, he deserve better.
Look, MojoPlays, I don't care what you think of these Party Members of the *Final Fantasy* franchises. I Absolutely Respect and Appreciate them all just the way they all are. I'd say, they're all the GOATS! I Respect Onion Knight from *Final Fantasy III,* Edward from *FFIV,* Krile from *FFV,* Gau from *FFVI,* Cait Sith from the *FFVII* franchises throughout the years, Quistis from *FFVIII,* Quina from *FFIX,* Kimahri from *FFX,* Vaan from *FFXII,* Hope from the *FFXIII* franchise and Ignis from the *FFXV* franchises. These are all THE Best Epic Badass Party Members of the *FF* franchises I Absolutely Cherish, Respect and Appreciate throughout the years. They're all Super Incredible, Awesome, Spectacular and Amazing in their own ways.
For effective Kimahri usage:
1) Proceed counterclockwise across his section. Activate all spheres up to the entrance to Rikku's.
2) Enter Rikku's. Grab Steal and Use, then proceed to the end of the first circle (ending in the Luck Sphere, grabbing the +4 Agility just beyond it).
3) Use a Return Sphere to go back to the Extract Mana sphere in his section.
4) Activate the spheres below, then backtrack to Wakka's section.
5) Proceed to the Silence Attack sphere.
6) Use a Lv.2 Key Sphere to break into the final third of Lulu's section. Proceed as normal to the end.
This Kimahri doesn't just catch up, he excels. He'll be the second fastest character, be able to steal, be almost the most durable, and he'll outdamage everyone except for Yuna's aeons for the majority of the game.
I thought Strago was the blue mage in FFVI
You chose Quina over Amarant, the emo chicken-man?
I usually used hope in ff xiii despite his personality. He worked good as a healer.
I recently started playing FF13 and I kinda like Hope I mean think about it he's just a sheltered kid that was put in a crappy situation I mean he gets better overtime but he's just kid who was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Because he is the healer of the game, everyone had a rol in that game, lightning is the mage, snow the tank, sash the party status, vanille the status alteration, and fang the warrior
It’s been a long time since I played it so I couldn’t remember if it was him or Vanille.
Sazh was actually the most useless character, but his personality was top tier
"I exist to eat but I also exist to live" - Quina
Probably my favorite gameplay character in the game. Blue magic + 9999 Frog drop FTW!
I think Quistis is a little better than Selphie in my opinion.
I remember as Cloud was about to die, snd then i relied Caith sith, we survived!
Amarant always is useless to me because of how late and boring he is to use
Amarant's personality sucks but he's a beast in combat. Equipped with the right knuckles, he can hit like a truck and has solid healing skills with Chakra.
He has high HP/strength/speed, rezzing/auto-life/MP recovery skills (which can be used on the entire party if he's in Trance), and he can both physically (counter) and magically counterattack (return magic). He's one of the most useful physical characters in the game, although Freya overtakes him with how easy it is to get Dragon's Crest to deal max damage.
Hate on Cait Sith until he hits you with Game Over.
Oh god I had forgotten about that until now ... I was PISSED
The the beginner and average players, yes Cait Sith would be the worst. If you're able to master his slot limit break, he would be OP.
@@jofez27He surprised me in FF7 Rebirth. I hit some bonkers damage numbers with him in my party with all the buffs he could give your party.
It is absolutely wilddddd that every character on this list was once meta in Dissidia Opera Omnia
Though I must agree that Cait Sith in FFVII was irritating, I totally disagree about the blue mages in VIII, IX and X. It is true that the blue mage is a niche class but in not being a preferred class does not make them annoying
Cait Sith has a limit break called "slots" which has an unbreakable max damage against any enemy, that goes even for emerald and ruby weapon. That's his onyl usefulness, but admittedly it's a good one.
Quistis on the list? I beat FF8 with just Squall, Rinoa and her as my main party including beating Omega Weapon without the use of the invincibility thing you get from the Gilgamesh card.
Blue Mage job: LOVE IT!
Blue Mage character: Why does it exist?
I was curious with FFXV because they all have their strengths. I personally prefer anything but melee and that’s just my play style. So to me, I put Ignis and Prompto on high priority for my party. Also, Ignis heals and Prompto has this special move that can instant kill common enemies and magitech soldiers :0
FFX? Wakka, hands down.
Useful against flying enemies, but I usually just had Lulu take them down, as well as anything with an elemental weakness. And his status inflicting attacks rarely help when you need them the most. Personality wise, he was annoying as hell.
I'd always assumed that Reeve was only indirectly controlling Cait Sith, taking direct control only when he needed to speak to the group directly. But otherwise it was an AI.
Haven't seen Watchmojos in years and this list is why, a bunch of people talking about things they don't know. I remember seeing one of their videos a long long time ago where they ranked best hand to hand fight scenes, yet but a Jason Statham fight scene where we had him kick and sliding all over the place.
Quina is OP as hell if you know how to use her/he. Because Quina can eat enemies, you can easily level up very early in the game if you know where.
Ignis is the best bro in the bunch, the only issue with his episode was it wasn't really about him. It was all about getting to Noctis. I honestly think they could have given him some side quests to do like clearing specific areas to save citizens or something. His Brotherhood episode was the same thing. Instead of focusing on Ignis, they made it all about him trying to bake the dessert for Noctis. There was no backstory for him and that sucked because a lot of fans wanted to learn more about him. He's so much better at combat though, where Gladio is slow swinging with his great sword, Ignis has swift concise attacks. He is WAY MORE than just a buffer/debuffer to the group if given the right accessories.
You just opened up a can of worms when saying Ignis is the worst in FFXV. Ignis is beloved among the FFXV community.
Not a great deal, considering it's FFXV.
Quistis has the most broken magic of any of the party members though. Even Angel Wing Rinoa. Check it. Combining her with the Initiative ability and keeping her in the yellow HP means you have instant access to Degenerator, Mighty Guard, and if you manage to get it, Shockwave Pulsar. Quistis' Mighty Guard is the most overpowered protective spell in the entire series, considering that based on the current crisis level, it can cast Protect, Shell, Haste, Float, Regen, and AURA on the whole team.
Ya'll missin' out. She isn't incompetent in battle, but she's emotionally unstable, which is why she was demoted. She's actually *fantastic*.
For FF8, Selphie is right there. Reason why? Limit Breaks
Selphie: "I'm just gonna cast magic."
Quistis: "I'm going to shoot missiles from my breasts."
Episode Ignis, really put him in the top characters of Ff XV, maybe Prompto, he is annoying almost all the game, but also his episode is great
ele não é irritante, ele é o cara que tenta levantar a moral do grupo, coisa que tava precisando no meio te tanta tensão
Outside of getting an achievement for getting all Kimahris overdrives and filling out all sphere grids, he’s not great for later fights. Especially if you’re going for beating all the Super Bosses.
We can argue for ages about who's the worst of each game, except for FFXIII where it's clearly Vanille !!!
At least the whinning nature of Hope makes narrative sense but bloody Vanille and her horrendous dubbing (seriously she squees all the time) have no redeeming quality.
Suggested Title: Mojo doesn't understand Blue Mages in Final Fantasy.
Vi-X Then XII XIII XV learn how to use em!!!
Cait Sith is technically the most powerful character, in FF history.
His slots attack, can one-shot bosses!
If you're a gambling man... he's your pick. And every speed-runner of FF7 swears by him.
Vincent is probably the weakest. Because his ultra is RNG based.
I need Final Fantasy VIII Remake!! 😎✌🏻
did these guys even play the game? gau is a billion times better than umaro
12 and 13... I definitely feel that.
In 12, i replaced Vaan as soon as i possibly could, prefering to play as Penelo. As soon as Ashe became available, she had "Main Character presence" and played as her till the end.
As far as 13, my party consisted of Lightning, Snow and Fang. I had a love/hate thing for Vanille but Hope annoyed me beyond reason and considering his character didn't get an overhaul until late game, he was already too underutilized to bother with. Then, right back to not liking him anymore in the sequals.
Having Quina on this list lost me....hands down one of the top 3 party members in the game
Growing up with FFX, I always admired Kimahri. He was an interesting character, despite looking like Red XIII with Chewbacca. Sure his gameplay wasn’t that good, but at least Tidus, Yuna, Auron, & the others were proud to have him as their friend.
I barely used Khimari until the end of the game and even then I still didn't bother using his lancet skill until the forced fight.
As for Ignis. I actually liked his abilities since they can help us in a pinch, until he loses his eyesight.
in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, in addition to Cath Sith, we have Yuffie who is basically Played in the Story, and to add salt to the Wound she is Mandatory instead of being Optional and always sucks up all the time.
Dude, I literally played with Quistis, Quina. And Hope was a great mage.
Quistis gets better once you get Aura and then access probably the most broken version of Mighty Guard out there. Even before that, though, I can argue Selphie is still worse. The main difference between characters in 8 is the Limit Break, and hers is so random. I mean, sure, there's the cover opening trick, but I don't want to rely on that, and waiting for a really good spell while the enemy just wails on you is worse than waiting for Cyan's strongest skills. Heck, for most fights, Irvine is worse too. His specialty is crowd control, in other wise, he's ill fit for most bosses, especially a certain boss where you must be careful NOT to hit a certain target.
Huh… I really liked quistis and quina. Especially quina…. And IGNIS? Seriously?
First, he’s awesome. “I’m come up with a new recipeh” was one of my favorite things to hear in ff15, and I loved the soundtrack. And the regroup skill pretty much kept my party alive for a massive part of the game. He was one of the best in that game.
Quistis is not a bad choice, whatsoever. Degenerator alone is devastating. Then there are Mighty Guard and White Wind.
Also, for Kimarhi, I like his position on the Sphere Grid. You can literally choose what you want him for before maxing him out.
Quistis' confidence being a facade is a big part of the character. The cast of Final Fantasy VIII are all deconstructions of the character tropes prevalent in high school-based manga and anime. Quistis is a deconstruction of the confident senpai character.
As for Vaan and Penelo being flat, that's intentional. They're the audience surrogates.
What was wrong with Krile?
The Black Mage/Wizard would have to be worst character in the first game. Yes, he can cast magics that deal with multiple enemies - but so can the Red Mage/Wizard. His instant death spells don't always work. And finally, his Flare spell is underpowered; it does about 200-300 DMG while the Knight can do about 500+ DMG with Excalibur and the Master Monk can do about 1000+ DMG with his fists. The Black Wizard actually does more damage with the Masamune sword than with the Flare spell. I normally use a Red Mage instead: can cast room clearing spells like the Black Mage, but is also a competent fighter and a decent back-up healer.
The Thief/Ninja might be an okay fighter and a weak Black Magic user, but his high agility can make him a lifesaver if you are in the middle of a dungeon and your HP and spell points are low, as he will allow you to run from virtually any random encounter. You can also give him the Masamune if you feel his attack power could use a bit of a boost.
4:edger
5:never played
6: the yeti
7: kait sith
8:Irvin
9:amaranth
10:kimahri
12:penelo
13:I don’t know everyone was horrible the whole game is painful to deal with
I think we should limit the use of parties where we never get out of the 4-party setup. Specifically, V and XV should be outright disregarded from this list because you technically can't change party members, only classes for V, and can't axe brotherhood with XV.
Imagine thinking Quina is a bad party member
In FF10, Onion Knight is actually one of Lulu's weapons.
In my Final Fantasy X, no one is weak and I think you should reconsider your decision on him. He can be nasty in the very beginning, if you grind and such.
