1950 Dodge Wayfarer 2 Dr. Sedan. DGC4935 VIN D34-224935. I’m surprised how much I like this car. It was bought to us. The guy was not using it and paying storage. He was leaving town. I bought it. He drove it in. We cleaned on it and you should see it. Has new paint and interior. Looks great.

W😎 W what a friggin wonderful ride 👍‼️ I had a 53 Dodge Coronet in high school , in 1973 , mine was souped up Flathead 6 two-speed speed PTO rear end gear, with JC Whitney turbocharger dual headers, Great footage 🎥🎬🎞️👍‼️

    Great impeccable 1950 Dodge!
"Fluid Drive" hydraulic coupling was indeed a great invention from Chrysler Co. It lasted from 1939 to 1954, for all Mopar cars of the era, except Plymouth, could have it, and was a success, particularly with the ladies drivers.
No need to step on the clutch pedal during traffic stops, no need to pull hand brake when climbing slopes of any kind. It was a pity to have had such a short life. Chrysler Co. abandoned it when its first fully automatic transmission was introduced in the market for the 1955 models.

They made the cars sluggish and robbed economy, though. The higher end transmissions had already added a torque converter to the fluid coupling by 1950. At Dodge, they called it Gyromatic.

Hope nobody puts wide whites on that beautiful Dodge! Just a personal preference. 🙂 The gauges look like they were manufactured by a Swiss watchmaker. Except for the chrome pitting, everything you showed us like the heater core, radio & slow wipers can be restored to like-new without big outlays of money. Since the car's interior is in good shape and she passes a compression test, you're not too far from having a faithful friend. I expect only to get Edward R Morrow and Elvis on that radio, now!

No way a base Wayferer had the full wheel covers, those were reserved for the Coronet!

Remember one a family friend had. Last saw it in 1961. You could fit a half dozen full golf bags in the trunk.

I love that old car the car doors sounds great better than my Brand new car. If my grandpa was still living he would get that car . he had a 1950 dodge but it wasn't the Wayfarer I can't remember it so many models.

My mom drove the exact car, except it was brown...she never got the manual shifting of the 'automatic' transmission...still remember the grinding gears!
We called the car Betsy, and last it was handed down to an aunt, who sadly turned it into lawn art...

It was a fun car to drive I forgot about the fluid drive and how it works I didn't take long it was a great driving car. We just bought a 1953 Dodge pick up all stock someone had to change the rear end ratio as it'll go down the freeway in the 60s it is fun to drive. Good luck Jeri

@@dragersclassics Had a friend who bought a 1948 fluid drive Windsor limousine when we were both 19. A real majestic looking car. Had been a family funeral car so was in good shape...the funeral director loved its looks so much he just couldn't part with her until he ran out of garage space in 1973. I think you could upshift without using the clutch, but he never let anybody else drive it, lol.

If the wipers don't work well, you probably need to install a double-action fuel pump.
