I can’t get enough of this!! Brings me back to the 80’s! Anthrax was my first taste of thrash, and I got hooked! I got Armed and Dangerous, and immediately went out and found Fistful of Metal and Spreading the Disease. Still have the cassettes to this day!
This is great! Joey is to Anthrax as Bruce Dickinson was/is to Iron Maiden. Just elevated it to a whole other level completely. Joey definitely IS the VOICE of Anthrax.
Anthrax Rules been a fan since the 80s Saw them live for the first time in 1987 Still am a fan saw them last time in 2018 seen them many times They are still Killing it🤘🏽
Your kid is very smart, Charlie is one of the best in the game for sure. I'm 42 with two little ones that I am enjoying presenting them with the Metal that I love. My 4 year old thinks Flotsam &Jetsam "Doomsday" is the best CD I own. Lol, having fun.
What a great story. I knew Joey was influenced by Perry and he's got chops like him, but at the same time he sounds more like himself than anyone else...and his is the voice I hear when I think of Anthrax.
This is a brilliant series. Anthrax have always been awesome - great records & killer live too. It’s amazing how long they’ve been doing this but still sound fresh & unique amongst the thousands of bands in the genre. I’ve been lucky to see them live a few times over the years & I can’t wait to see them again. Long live Anthrax 🤘🤘🤘
Spreading the Disease is the album that hooked me into Anthrax when it came out. From the first notes of A.I.R., I was in. Then Among the living hit and holy shit, they were locked in on that album. I'll put that album up against any thrash album.
Neil has a great voice, with good range. But for me, Joey is the voice of Anthrax! I missed his vocals during the, John Bush era, (but I do think John Bush is a great vocalist too). It was great to hear Joey's vocals on, Worship Music.
Watching this for the second time now. Each of the 4 had its role, Anthrax was more introspective than the others, in my experience. The fact that the lyrics were written more like myth is evidence of that. I know that Burton was an abstract kind of writer but it was more personal than collective. That’s the Anthrax hook. Metallica was in attack mode, Slayer was slaying and Megadeth was looking for nuke codes.
Yo Charlie!! I seen this on Anthrax channel but was too busy chatting in the live premiere so now I'm going to watch urs nd pay more attention, lol... */w\METAL/w\*
Raise a hand if you thought "yeah that Anthrax band is done, they're switching to some new frontman, forget it, they'll never make that work" when this happened ... lol ... and then when it happened again later.. lol x 2 .. Destiny was in Anthrax's favor ! Twice!
Honestly it was because of their non metal image that brought me to them. I did not like the tough guy macho bullshit that most metal bands had in the eighties. Could not stand the term "poser" and if you liked Motley Crue then you could not like Metallica. That was total crock of horse shit. Glad Anthrax kind of help diminish that attitude!!!
@@THRASHMETALFUNRIFFS Of course I dig slayer. Just couldn't stand some of the tough guy asshole fans that were associated with slayer. I was the teenager in 1985 with a skateboard and pair of skater shorts with a sleeveless shirt rocking out to everybody from Sinatra to Slayer.
@@nathanwalsh3028 Whoa dude, that's pretty cool! I was riding my board to school around 89-91... Santa Cruz and Independent trucks! My dad is a classical composer and professional gigging rock/country dude but I had a crossover thrash punk band at that time in my playlist holmes /w\/w\
I was a little skater kid in the late 80's, loved Motley and Guns. I remember the older kids with Slayer and Metallica shirts giving me tons of shit for it, but when the smoke cleared I could check out the less available music they were into, and love thrash as well. I still like whatever the hell I want, more inclusive than exclusive. Santa Cruz with Tracker trucks and OJ wheels. It's time I get back on a board.

These episodes are not coming out fast enough. Come on Charlie, we need more ASAP!
This is the best. I love Anthrax, and Joey’s voice has always made Anthrax unique and next level.
Favorite thing in UA-cam right now. Wish they were a little longer but perfect
Medusa is such a killer tune🤘
So cool to go so deep!👍🏼
More Spitz please.
This is great!

Paul DiAnno is Iron Maiden...Bruce did something different.
@@netrioter No.
DiAnno had a hell of a metal scream on him and Neil's range was just ridiculous! Both replaced with guys who sang different and it worked out well

I’m 43yrs old and Anthrax is in my DNA. My 11yr old idolizes Charlie and his beats are on point.

I used to have the Armed and Dangerous ep on tape. I wore that bad boy out.
Another great episode
I’ve been eating these up I wish the whole thing was released at once.
Fantastic... I love this you guys
