My pawn shop pays 72% of gold price, my gold guy who I sell to pays 80% of gold so it seems like that is the ballpark number to sell gold to a middle man. What I would say though if you ever sell to someone who buys gold or silver find one that doesn't buy costume jewelry. By them not buying costume jewelery you eliminate the feeling of "did I get taken advantage of and was this actually gold but he said it wasn't". At least in my experience.
The biggest thing is digging into it and learn how to do it yourself.... But like anything that will come with time and experience. I'm just been stacking it away.....but Jan was super light on income
my gold guy in alabama pays 92% if i got large quantities i can get 95 . hey you making money thats all that matters .that 18k could have been sized next time check the side of the ring
That is a good point because he was scratching it right where it would be sized.... That is why I say you only way you can trust anyone is your self....

Brian is a good buyer and seems honest. Would run into him at Lambertville. When I moved out of the area I asked around to who the best buyer was to some coin guys. They pointed me to a refiner. You'll get better pricing if you find a refiner who will buy because it takes out a layer of middle man. I get 80% value, and 90% if I do trade. I trade my scrap gold & silver for gold bullion as a savings plan because that will be easier to sell "when I need it".

I think you did pretty good with the class ring. You should get your own acid test kit so you can test everything yourself at home. Then when you sell nobody can rip you off. Just my opinion
That's the plan I really didn't want to sell any of it. But it's the quickest money I have..... I got plenty of scrap, but that's going to take quite a few hours to accumulate that much money....
yeah, I can understand about needing fast cash. I'm glad you didn't sell it all before you test it yourself. Get a digital gram scale too. But ofc that all takes a little investment, maybe later this summer when you have more cash flow. Have a good weekend.

So he got you at about 78% on the class ring. I would say that is a tad low. I would want 80 to 85% or higher if they do that.
that was a pretty big stone tbh 78% is generous
But he took weight off because od the stone. So it's still low. Don't quote me on it but 80% should be the low rate. @@junkin
