Yes. In addition, some of the convicted, especially the young ones, haven't accepted the reality of what's happening. It can take a long time to process events. Some people laugh when nervous.
The police officer committed crimes against women while on duty and wearing his uniform,as well as driving the police cruiser. As if rape wasn’t bad enough,to do it while on duty is beyond horrible.
*The 3rd kid (Brandon Spencer) shot a weapon into a crowd at a party on a college campus. He didn't kill anyone, he wounded a guy believed to have injured him in a previous incident, plus 3 others. *That cop was convicted of rape, sexual battery, & other sexual crimes against 8 different women. (18 counts)
That first one was the kid who killed his great-grandmother w a hatchet. I’d say the claims that he’s a cold-blooded killer are very accurate. “No Contest” is not a plead of guilty or not guilty. It’s a way of pleading guilty sort of but not admitting you’re actually responsible for the crime of which you’re accused. That kid who thought all he’d have to do is cry is the one who beat a baby to death. I think he should’ve got the death penalty but not all states have that option & some that do, don’t give it to anyone who committed their crime(s) as a juvenile, even if they’re tried as an adult. It varies from state to state but sorry, not sorry, if you brutally beat a baby or attack an elderly lady, especially w a hatchet, you should be put do death. Bc you’re never not going to be a threat to society & tax dollars shouldn’t be spent on keeping you locked up once you’ve exhausted all your appeals.
The cop 's name is Daniel Holtzclaw. He ended up with 263 years. Google him for the wiki article. Antonio Barbeau, the young kid that's eligible for parole when he's 50, killed his great grandmother with a hatchet for $155. He was 13 years old at the time. This is so heinous, I'll going to have nightmares.
Thing is with the ones who harm children, their lives are going to be a living hell in prison. One thing my uncle who was deputy warden at the local prison told me is people who harm children are the most hated in the prisons and targets for the other inmates to get a hold of and give their own form of judgement/justice on said one who harmed the kid. So those convicts have to be watched or pulled out of general population for their own protection from the other inmates.
Actually, depending on the charges, you could have bail revoked while awaiting trial. The same goes if you are convicted of the charges. It depends if you are considered a danger to yourself or others. What I don’t know is, does that very from state to state or Federal.
The second one took place on Mon, 14 Apr 2014 in my home state of Iowa. It was at the Wapello County Courthouse in Ottumwa as an Iowa man was sentenced for abusing a child. 20-year old Dustin Dewayne Armstrong received 50 years in jail for injuries he caused to a toddler.
I have been on two different jury’s in my life. I love our court system, to watch and listen to a trial play out, the twist and turns that there are is very interesting. I watch a bunch of trials and true crime shows and it is Horrifying what people do to one another, with out a second thought to the aftermath and consequences that Will follow. It’s truly mind blowing to me.

No contest or Nolo Contendre is the defendant stating that he will not fight the charges. He or she is nsither admitting to guilt or innocence. Also makes it easier to get a resduced sentence after a certain time incarcerated, though, it depends in the crime committed.
I believe, on the Federal level people convicted of harming a child go to certain prisons solely housing only child predators. I’m not sure how a state case works.
Depending on the state, it's likely that a convict will only serve a fraction of their sentence. Sometimes Europeans hear these long sentences handed out in the US but don't realize that there is very little "truth in sentencing" in the US.
Depends on the nature of the crime and the sentence handed out, though. And that's assuming that some of these folks do not break the law while behind bars.
You are in England but what you don't understand is that a lot of these cases are very biased when it comes to race. Yeah they're showing some white to make it look like it's fair. But as we see in this big case that just happened with the not guilty verdict you usually get that for a white defendant or a smaller sentence. Most of these life sentences are aimed at us so don't get to happy about it.... Court system is very racist!!!!!
Not necessarily. There's people doing life sentences for drugs, financial crimes, kidnapping, etc. Many states also have three strike laws. How these laws work vary, but generally speaking it means you get three felonies and you either are sentenced to life or a significantly longer sentence than you otherwise would have if it were a first offense.
9:02 this kid beat his ex girlfriend in the lobby of her apartment, stole her handbag, and stomped on her head until she was unconscious. He was sentenced to a total of 9 years in prison. He was under a restraining order to not be within 500 feet of her or her apartment. His reaction was because he thought that he could get probation instead and goin to prison dashed his hopes of playing college football.
My mom used to always tell us "play stupid games, win stupid prizes". These people knew they were committing crimes when they did it, and now they have to suffer the consequences of their actions. Mom also told us not to bother her if we ever got arrested, her and my dad would not be posting bail for us lol. Luckily my siblings and I never had to see if she was serious even though we know she was 🤣
In the USA you can post a bail bond as a promise to attend court to face charges by the state country or whom ever brings them against you. If the bail bound is met you can have some sort of freedom at least to go to work/school/home "stay in State" until the case is closed IE sentenced found guilty or not guilty and freed of those charges. Depending on the court you are in what crimes are charged against you "innocent until proven guilty" the bail bound's range has huge swing. Example would be two men same age same back ground two cities apart are charged with the same crime these two men have the same social circles the same finances could see the bond set in the thousands of dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars for most extreme crimes normally the million dollar plus bonds may be posted and for the very wealthy could see crazy high bonds as well. To get a bond most bond offices charge a person 10% of set bond with the promissory to make the loss of bond money to be repaid if the bonded person flees trying to skip out of court. So a 100k bound you would provide 10k cash or close with the say the family house on the line if the person leaves town. Bond office's use those funds paid upfront to hirer bounty hunters and post rewards for your capture BTW the house or fancy car or what ever was put up is also lost so yes jumping bail or skipping bond is no joke to whom ever is "bailing you out".
11:49 it's sentiments and attitudes like this that are the problem with Modern Society and the apathetic way with which people live their lives. 'He was 'just' a HS student that had something against his teacher and took his anger out on her...' 'Just'? 'Just' a HS student? No homie, he was a cold blooded killer who premeditated the death of an innocent human being. 'JUST' a HS student puts a potato in the tailpipe of a hated teacher...they DON'T MURDER THEM. Taking the attitude of 'oh he 'just' killed her I don't know what the problem of the courts is...I mean he was JUST an angry HS student, big whoop!' is why we are where we are today.
When violent offenders are sentenced to life without, I can't feel bad for them. They have intentionally and without regard for others have violently murdered someone or multiple people , they get what they deserve. They only cry for themselves not for their victims. Oh don't fret Kabir, those who hurt children are in for a world of hurt in prison. Even inmates have their standards. Sounds like a school shooting. That cop that was sentenced, I know this case. He raped women he pulled over. Remand means no bail. That last one was being sentenced to Walpole Prison in Massachusetts. That place is a horror. My brother works there.
It can't be that terrifying, because it didn't stop them in the first place. The first kid is 14. He has no control of his emotions at this point.. No contest doesn't mean pleading guilty exactly, as that would be horribly damaging to any appeal efforts. It's more like...'I'm not going to argue.', I think.
It really insults my intelligence when people call a crime a "mistake". It's NOT a mistake! I don't care how old the person is, they KNEW what they were doing, and they knew it was wrong. That's called a CRIME, not a mistake!!!
Dustin Armstrong (2nd clip) grabbed the chin of his girlfriend's two year old child and slammed it into a wall. His sentence was for 50 years, not life.
Sadly US prisons are designed to be punishment rather than rehabilitation. They can get some education there but many get out of prison in a worse mental state than when they went in and are for the most part unable to support themselves as getting a job for an ex con is exceedingly difficult.
Prison is a punishment? Wow! You don't say! I don't feel a drop of remorse for these rapists, murderers and thugs getting EXACTLY what they deserve; justice. They brought it upon themselves, and they fully earned the time lost from their lives as free men - or in some cases, just the end of their lives period. The only ones I feel sorry for are their families, their victims, and their victims' families. As it stands, some of them absolutely deserve to die for what they've done. That isn't to say they shouldn't have a chance to rebuild themselves once they get out or prepare themselves for doing so, but nothing is ever going to change the fact that they took another human life for selfish and evil reasons and they fully deserve to face recompense for that.
You want to rehabilitate a kid who killed his grandmother with an axe, a dude who murdered a baby, a rapist cop, etc? At this point there is no rehabilitation and making them pay is most important. For drug crimes and no violent offenses, yes. Not for these sick individuals though
It is not outside of the realm of possibility that people commit crimes because of their environment. What would cause a child or anyone to do something drastic like some of the crimes they are accused of? Either desperation or a mental issue. Either way rehabilitation could make them functioning members of society when they get out rather than giving them no option but to land back in prison despite their best efforts. If a falsely accused person, for example, goes to prison, should they get parole, will get out with a record and be so messed up in the head from everything they went through they will struggle and are more likely to end up back in prison for real. Some of the kids in this video are 14, 15 and 16 years old. They will get parole when they're like 50 and have no clue how to function in the world, get a job, live in their own or socialize normally.
I hate that they didn’t provide more details, so I had to look them up to satisfy my curiosity. I will share with you to save you the effort. All of them got exactly what they deserve, at minimum. 1-Antonio Barbeau and a friend killed his great grandmother with a bat and hatchet. Pleading “No Contest” is not admitting guilt to the criminal charges. 2-Dustin Armstrong brutally beat the 2 year old child of his girlfriend. 3-Brandon Spencer shot into a crowd at a USC Halloween party insuring four people. 3-????? I’ve seen this guy before. He was convicted of beating an infant to death. 4-Smith Riley approached a couple in a parked car. He shot both, killing one of them. 5-????? 6-????? 7-Phillip Chism raped and murdered his high school teacher.
Just because you’re eligible for parole, doesn’t mean you get out. It is very rare to get parole the first time before the board. You usually don’t get it the second time.
If you don't want to plead guilty, but also know you have no case if you plead not guilty, you may plead no contest. It is not an admission of guilt and most people plead no contest in a bid to get a lesser sentence.
all of these people are shocked that they are getting life... because they grew up seeing people get away with lesser crimes with little to no recourse... hell most of the time you won't even get the death sentence for murder in the USA anymore... if people actually grew up witnessing the proper punishments for crime they wouldn't be so quick to commit them...
The guy at 9:00 who passed out had a basketball scholarship to college and was sure he wouldn't get prison time - for beating the absolute hell out of his girlfriend at her dorm and on camera. Too bad.
Pleading "No Contest" means that you do not contest the judgement and accept responsibility for the crime, but you do not accept guilt for the crime. You are basically saying that you admit you should be punished for what happened, but you do not accept that you are responsible (usually because you feel like it was accidental)
No contest means you are not pleading guilty but you agree the prosecution will more then likely prove you guilty in a trial. This type of plea is usually taken as a hope of getting a more lenient sentence
Pleading No Contest means you are convicted without actually admitting guilt. Basically, you're saying you're innocent but you' won't challenge the charges. It's usually entered as part of a plea deal.
The statement "don't do the crime if you can't do the time" for some is nit a deterant..tgere are "career criminals"...and there are iothers.. reality check . That was there were programs for youths heading towards bad decision such as Scared Straight ..all tough exteriors untill..
Jail is a temporary holding area while awaiting trial or sentencing. If "no contest" -usually a plea deal- there is no trial with a jury ( or a bench trial, where a judge takes the place of a jury), and they could either wait in jail or be taken immediately to either state or federal prison. Prison is where they go permanently until their sentence is served. They can get out sooner for good behavior, overcrowding or (during the last 18 months or so) for Covid, unless parole is not permitted.
I think no contest is often part of a plea bargain...when a juvenile is tried as an adult it is because they did something real bad ...alot of those creeps are sociopaths and there isn't anything you can do but lock them up
3:33 No contest means you aren't putting up a defense. Neither a plead of guilty or not guilty (probably closer to a guilty plea though). I'm not sure if they move right into the jury deliberation phase in a murder trial or not. I would think the prosecution would call some witnesses. And the defense would cross examine them. Sometimes call nolo contendere. It is amazing how many are sorry at sentencing isn't it? And of course there are some doing a crime that are truly sorry. But I think most are sorry because it really hits home with them & would gladly go out & do the same thing again. And to them making 'mistakes' . . . This is a joke. Even the voice over on the video spoke of their mistakes. Many of these crimes are far from mistakes & very deliberate acts.
Why did they edit out the crimes? I don’t get it. Once you’re convicted, no bail. Right to jail. Being released on bail…and it’s no guarantee they’ll grant you bail…is only for while you’re awaiting your trial, because it can be months and months before your trial is scheduled. Innocent until proven guilty, so you’re allowed to be free in most cases until you’re convicted.
Sad fact: 60% of the people in jail in the US are awaiting trial. Also, it's innocent until proven guilty or not guilty. There's no such thing as an innocent ruling in the US
@@CNep99 What are you talking about? Get a clue: Not Guilty means innocent. Same thing. Next, those 60% denied bail have long criminal records, they’re charged with violent crimes, are at a risk of flight and not showing up for trial, and your statistic is ridiculous to begin with! Of COURSE they’re in jail awaiting trial! Why does that 60% figure bother you anyway!? But 10 times as many DO qualify for bail! Jesús, use your brain, okay? Do the MATH!
@@Ira88881 not sure why this made you so angry. Not guily is not the same as innocent. If it was then they'd say innocent. And not all of those awaiting trial weren't denied bail. Many people just simply can't afford it. The point was that most of the imprisoned population is innocent people
@@CNep99 You’re innocent until proven guilty. Which is why they determine guilty or not guilty. Is English your first language? Because this isn’t a very difficult concept to understand. Plus, your 60% thing is totally ludicrous. It signifies nothing.
I just heard that my cousin finally got out of prison. He's 57 and was convicted at 17. I don't know how he's expected to figure shit out after 40 years in prison, but he is intelligent, pursued education in prison and I will help him if I can. Yeah, he did something stupid as a teenager (killed a man), his mom and dad were failures, but 40 years of his life?
Can’t say I “liked” the video. I spent a career in medicine-the last 12 years in forensic medicine. I’ve seen much remorse-driven anguish and chronic anxiety. Truly remorseful murderers, rapists, pedophiles, and gang bangers exist. I worked with well-known pro athletes, musicians, cops, and clergy. These lost souls who wasted their lives and have perpetrated grievous harm, and more, to people are genuinely, authentically sorry. These people are few. Others maintain a hardened steely exterior as a coping mechanism, and for protection from themselves and others. All were mentally ill to some degree. Most came from horrendous backgrounds, acting on/from what they believed to self-preservation mode. Oddly, I didn’t witness remorse from busted law enforcement officers. The seemed to not accept responsibility-they seemed to be in disbelief that they were prosecuted.
I really didn't like this video because so much was blocked out one loses the jist of what was going on. This video was also way too short. Love & peace.✌️

Well done for not laughing.. I know you wanted to laugh! 😂
I did my best to hold it all in 😂😂
Just because you’re eligible for parole, doesn’t mean you get out. It is very rare to get parole the first time before the board. You usually don’t get it the second time.
I love your video and you seem like a very intelligent young man.
Without knowing what they have done video loses any context or emotional connection
I agree this censoring things I getting out of hand. We are becoming China.
That’s what I’m saying. I don’t know how to feel.
If you don't want to plead guilty, but also know you have no case if you plead not guilty, you may plead no contest. It is not an admission of guilt and most people plead no contest in a bid to get a lesser sentence.
Most people can't even do a week in jail! Let alone a week in prison.
all of these people are shocked that they are getting life... because they grew up seeing people get away with lesser crimes with little to no recourse...
hell most of the time you won't even get the death sentence for murder in the USA anymore...
if people actually grew up witnessing the proper punishments for crime they wouldn't be so quick to commit them...
And as a tactic to avoid civil punishment
34 years sir... don't you it's time to graduate. lol
They are not so tough when they get in court.
the cop was sentenced to over 250 years
No contest means you are not pleading guilty but you agree the prosecution will more then likely prove you guilty in a trial.
No contest plea means the offer by the prosecutor is too good to pass up, so you accept the proposed sentence without admitting guilt.
I think no contest is often part of a plea bargain...when a juvenile is tried as an adult it is because they did something real bad ...alot of those creeps are sociopaths and there isn't anything you can do but lock them up
Don't do the crime if you can't do the time!
Don’t do the crime, if you can’t do the time.
What is that color changing ball called?
mood light ball
Get a clue:
Not Guilty means innocent.

Should I get taxed more to support one in prison for taking someone's life or should they get what the victim got , death ???
And what happens to the 2 to 10 percent of wrongfully convicted people?
You just pull the police's plea of sorry, my bad we killed an innocent person?
@@douglascampbell9809 I asked a question what is with the you?
If you looks at the stats it costs more for someone to be on death row and executed than life in prison.
Lol @ you trying not to laugh
I had to hold it all in 😂
I just heard that my cousin finally got out of prison.
I’m sorry that your family member served 40 years. Consider the person he killed. How does that family feel. It’s a terrible situation, either way.
A question,do you have capital punishment in the UK?
No. It was abolished in the 1960s.
The cop pulled women over and made them give it up ....
No Contest is not a guilty plea. It just means that the defendant knows the state has more than enough evidence to convict him/her.
I really didn't like this video because so much was blocked out one loses the jist of what was going on. This video was also way too short. Love & peace.✌️
it was the oroginal video creator who cut out the audio, probably because youtube remonetizes videos that contain certain words

HE KILLED HIS GIRLFRIENDS CHILD I THINK SHE WAS AT WORK AT THE TIME......
I THINK NO CONTEST MEANS YOU PLEAD GUILTY BUT REFUSE TO SAY YOU DID IT EVENTHOUGH IT'S OBVS YOU DID WHO WOULD ADMIT TO SOMETHING THEY DIDN'T DO......
Only thing with video they are not saying what these kids did.
17 lol he's 14
Wait until the cry babies are in prison. Don't drop the soap.
A question,do you have capital punishment in the UK?thank you for your assistance
