I'm the dude that put his hand in the water and I just realized that my youtube photo is me putting my hand in water perhaps I can keep putting my hand in water... for a living... thanks for giving me my start Mehdi!! sincerely, Steve/Oliver
Mehdi's sense of humor is his most impressive skill, IMHO. How many times have we all seen that photo of Tesla, or similar ones of others, yet this is the first time I've heard anyone make that "heavy brain" joke. And thanks for letting us all virtually visit the Maker Faire this way, Mehdi.
Or plugging an extension cord into itself, but have a 3-way at the end, and then hot wiring so that electricity gets injected and going in a loop… Wait with a powered loop next to it would that actually work as a transformer coil? Nah, the wires are right next to each other. They’d cancel out. Would’ve been a cool DIY inductive power trick though.
The crowd at this presentation is much more lively and engaged than the other older presentation some years back. Loved watching this & was happy to hear the laughs from the crowd XD
Do what you love and love what you do. Your explanation of embracing creativity and learn without boredom is spot on. My fathers an electrical engineer and I'm a physicist we both really enjoy your videos!
it's amazing showcasing technology and innovation but seriously your local university probably holds one every year like me in Indonesia, The Bandung Institute of Technology held one my family went there it was fun, there was piezoelectric speed bumps, nanotech, robots and many more
Mehdi is like one of those pretend idiots pretending to be idiots when in actuality they're super geniuses. I wouldn't be surprised at all to know that one he became a super-villain. His youtube channel has his proper villain name, too. Edit: It says on my phone, "ElectroBOOM wants to your location." Help me.
honestly the thing I like most about your presentation is that it's not "too slick"... You have just the right amount of awkwardness yet confidence in your material, that makes it obvious you know what you're doing, but it makes you feel genuine. We've all seen TED talks and presentations by people who are so rehearsed and slick that it's almost uncomfortable to watch because it feels like a product rather than a person. Your talk on the other hand just feels good, and like you're actually there in the moment rather than reading a script. It's awesome.
So after discovering your channel I already watched all your videos in just a week in my spare time. Man I love your UA-cam channel, you deserve more and more attention because it's funny BUT also venry educational. This is what we miss from TV, and you brought it back. Thank you and keep it up! Kind regards from Chile!
saw this today for first time. never ever though of the bathtubs route to ground. ty sir. Thank you for your awesome demonstrations of the properties of electricity and your reveals like this.
Thank you Medhi. Several years ago when I was still trying to go for a Veterinary Medicine degree, I took Calc-based physics 1&2, and while the first class was just newtonian physics my highschool teacher taught much better, the second course was much more interesting. I struggled a bit with the first segment of concepts we covered, all pertaining to electricity and circuits. I blame part of this on the different Lab portion professor making pretty much all of the lab around electricity rather than the other 2/3 of topics we covered. I was much more able to grasp and excel at the two other topics, waveforms/light and gravity/magnetism. However, my wonderful physics 2 teacher brought it all together at the end and blew my mind by telling us we all now knew how to understand what EXACTLY the term "electro-magnetic waves" really meant. While I have since moved on to get a degree in IT/Information Security, I enjoy revisiting the concepts of circuitry and keeping myself at least a little refreshed thanks to your videos. Keep being the most hilariously informative channel on the site. You're helping prevent even those not poisoned by lead from becoming the enemy within!!!
Realy apreciate what you do man! Especially that you give the students posibility to learn stuff on the things that you giveaway and teach electricity that is hard to understand at school, make it easy to digest and that you give your best to make it educational and funny. Thank you for your dedication!
At 24:05 he starts showing projects about sand, and a guitar, and a robotic arm, and many other things that were made by the Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy. I attend that academy, and I will be in that fair in two years, I am glad you put these in the video.
Don't stress, your presentation was Great! Thanks for sharing; at over 50, I'm informally learning electricity/electronics. Thankful for your channel to help educating us.

If you are touching anything that has electricity always do it with the back of your hand, so your muscles won't contract and force you to hold onto it and, die, but with the back of your hand, it won't force you to grab it and your reflexes will force your hand away, and because if you damage the inner part of your hand, it's bad since you use the inner part of hand a lot.
Outstanding show. Next time, use a non-contact voltage tester pen with a volunteer. I did this little trick with an apprentice where I held onto a live wire behind an outlet. So I asked him to hand me his pen tester, but I asked him to turn it on first before handing it to me. The look on his face was priceless as the pen tester kept flashing on every time he tried to hand it to me. He could not understand, for the life of him, what was going on.
Girl at 8:27 is touching neutral wire. It is true that voltage between any two points before load (in this case bulb) is 0 volt no matter live or neutral, because wire is good conductor and thus have low resistance, so there would not be any voltage drop between two points of wire. But if she would be to touch live wire, her hand would be at potential of 110 V and if she stands on the ground, her legs would be on 0 V, so there would be potential difference or voltage of 110 V between hand and legs, thus there will we current flowing through her body. Or she is good isolated from ground so there is no closed circuit, thus current can't flow. In either case, don't try this.

8:28 Random guy saying "don't grab like that" lol Well it's actually true. Always use the back of your hand while touching something that is possibly live to prevent involuntary hand contraction.
This is the second time I'm asking the following question: Why there is always a mistake in almost every videos what electroboom makes? Is he indirectly speaaking about the electrical safty?
Man, you are a genius. I am really enjoying all of your videos! On the first look, it looks so random but the learning out of your videos is so deep! Thanks for that. That often made my day. Please continue what you are doing. I wish all teachers would be like you. So much fun.
