I heard a good Interview with the author of this book about this book on a great podcast series called MYSTERIOUS UNIVERSE. I have a niece who is 16 and exells at Japanese in school , she just got back from a school trip to Japan so I have ordered it for her for Christmas. I asked her if she had heard of Yokai, she hadn't but she likes manga. She is rather sheltered and lives in rural Australia, she is very sweet and innocent, studious and well behaved (very unlike myself). I hope it is not too weird or scary or boring and academic for a 16 year old girl. From your review I feel she may well like it and bother to read it, I hope so anyway. Thankyou so much for the review, I found you after the fact but from what you have said I don't regret it, just hope it dosen't freak her out and give her nightmares. Having said that I am the black sheep Uncle who wants to crack her open to the weird and wonderful. Thamks again, a real pleasure to hear your thoughts.
