Can't wait for you to review the new Donner UA-44. Looks just like the mv-7 with very similar functionalities built in. There's also $30 coupon so you can get it for 70 bucks!
I liked the sound and look of this mic based on your review and couldn't resist picking one up for $42 after sales tax. Got it hooked up today, and I must say I really love the way it sounds. It vaguely reminds me of the RE-20 in its looks, so in a way it's keeping my lust for an RE-20 suppressed and safely away.
@@ObscureMics Love it. For now I'm just going to pretend that it's an RE-20 and be happy. I actually think it sounds better than the $400 Røde Broadcaster, especially with the foam cover on it.
Bark! Thank you and I'm sorry!! A crazy day yesterday had me rushing from the hospital to work when I bought this mic less than 2 minutes into this video. One does not wait for sound tests during a full-scale Bark Alert. But I am sorry, sir! In my haste, I totally missed your affiliate link, and by the end of the video, I couldn't get the chance to redo it. I understand if it is now your mission to destroy me. But thank you for the great tip! This Donner should help ease my severe trauma over missing that $25 Earthworks-looking deal 😉🙏
was gonna get the Presonus PD70 but i might change my mind after hearing this mic the only reason im still considering the PD70 is because it comes with plugins
wow! I just picked one up on Amazone and I fell instantly in love with it! It became my main gaming microphone, I love it and with my dbx it sounds even better! For other video stuff, I still use my presonus px-1 or a lav mic, because I somehow find it more pleasing to listen to in those types of scenarios, but that's a whole different story!
Hey bud. Have you considered reviewing this. Donner XLR/USB Podcast Microphone, Vocal Dynamic PC Microphone for Recording, Live Streaming & Gaming, All Metal Cardioid Mic with Built-in Headphone Output, Mute Button, Black, UA-44. For a while it was $70 with a 30% coupon. It will probably fluctuate back to that
I I just have a quick curious question! Since I am not an audio nerd? How would you describe a top, side, and end address microphone to someone who is blind? Also, how would you speak into the microphone being top, side, or an end address? Thank you for all of the answers and information!
In my words: I would say an end address microphone is like talking into someone's fist pointed straight at you with a stiff arm. Top address is the same thing. A side address is like talking into someone's palm if they had they arm bent and open hand in front of your face. Hope that helps
Hi Bark! I was wondering, do you think the TAYUN/XTUGA audio interface you covered would treat this mic right? Trying to go for a smaller budget setup for small projects mostly for voice over and singing. Wonder what your opinion would be on the setup of both of them? :)
It absolutely would. That would be a great cheap pair to get going! BUT...if you have access to sweetwater .com.....big sale on tc helicon interfaces....the twin, which is great...is 29 bucks
Quick question about this mic. Mine had a humm sound coming out of it. In this video are you using a dynamic mic booster? I use the fethead for mine.. maybe that’s my problem! I would just do a test, but I’m at work. Any feedback appreciated brO!
Picked one up. Deciding if it is better than my XM8500 (on the fence so far). Only issue atm if I have a pop filter in front of it even at full gain (Evo 8) it doesn’t pick my voice up, well its whisper quiet. Certainly unusable?
@@ObscureMics Mystery solved! The microphone was faulty. Sent it back. Then they came on sale again for only £35 so gave it another try. MUCH better. Evo 8 has gain to spare. Cheers :)
Hey Bark I bought this mic off of this review months ago and I do like it. This mic is currently going for $43 on Amazon. I've seen all your recent videos as well great stuff. Question, I'm looking for another mic, is there anything in this price point that I should consider? Any mic you like better at the current moment that's sub $100? Seems like this is best of the best for under $50 currently. Thanks
The dinner IS the best of the best at 59 or under for me. If you want a nice mic for $25....the Mackie em-89d is a great one for that price amzn.to/3GjVNm7
That's the problem. You need to sell that and get an interface... Even a tc Helicon go solo for $22 on Amazon will be leaps and bounds better amzn.to/3jBJPeX

This is definitely one of the best finds. Out of the box, it even sounds better than the rode procaster. Definitely getting more for a studio setup
I couldn't agree more! It has character!
Fun fact, the Donner Po 8 will fit in the xm8500 plastic hard case 🙌🏾
Really???
Sounds very “radio” in a good way. Totally could fit out a studio, and no one would ever guess it is a $50 microphone.
My thoughts exactly. And it looks pretty dang cool for it's price
Wow, can't believe I didn't see that....thanks!

had to pick one up! im a sucker for budget broadcast mics lol
As am I. I'm still pumped about this one
i like the sound of that low cut filter actually, that might be good off access on a midrange horn like an alto sax or oboe.
Agree... If only I played those to test it lol

Another one I've never heard of. Sounds pretty good to me, especially for the price!
I'll be using it on the next episode!
At this point in time, would you consider the Donner PO-8 to be the closest to the RE-20 sound on a budget?
I wouldn't say that no. Totally different sounds to me.
@@ObscureMics That’s fair! Is there another mic you’ve used that gets closer to the RE-20?
According to the guy from the "Creators Village" channel, it has an audible self-hum in headphones. That would be a disqualifier.
His copy yes…. I’ve never heard it in anyone else’s video
The plosive rejection is pretty nice.
It's a nice all around mic. Really reeeaally hard to complain about for the price.
Do you need a preamp such as a Cloudlifter for this or no?
Not in my opinion
You can actually put a Donner Po 8 in an xm8500 plastic case.

what is the difference between Donner P-08 and Donner DC-20?
P-08 is a dynamic...end address. The dc-20 is a condenser ...side address...at2020 clone
How does it compare to the hna ac50? The Donner sounds smoother
It is indeed smoother. The AC50 is a little bassier. I prefer the Donner
