90's intros were Metal as hell.
This one certainly was, at any rate.
This show was badass. We 90's kids had it good.
TheDalinkwent I wish I was in the 90's. I was born so late in 2006 :(.
I was born in the 2006s
I like this cartoon i cant wait new episode
Tim Curry and Rob Paulson owned these roles!
We had it the best
This opening was so metal.
Jesus christ....would you look at that quality animation, look at the crazy imaginative storylines and characters, the sense of fun and excitement encapsulated in this brief intro, this is what kids need, when you are that age your mind is open to all of this kind of thing, space adventures, other worlds, battles etc etc! Bring it back!!
this cartoon was very violent and bloody, it was cool
To this day Mighty Max was one of my favorite cartoons, the ending of the series ranks as one of the saddest of any I've ever seen. Norman and Virgil's "death" and how the series ends was fantastic.
I dont know about u guys but waking up to watch this was the shit back n the day :)
fuck yea
You know it!
Sure was damn it
I still have some of the toys!
chevecrazy454ss God I miss the 90s
Mighty Max was one of those cartoons where real shit would happen. And by real shit I mean major characters would die, 3 part episodes, and what not.
Also the toys were great.
+Joel Walker Yeah. Really sad cartoon. Kind of mature for a kids cartoon. Werewolf of Dunneglen was one episode that stood out.
+Joel Walker Toys came first.
And the episode aboot the origin of Norman!
Great stuff!
Also sad how they had that tapestry that foretold Norman's death (by his greatest fear no less).
MrSafior Yeah, it was the old days. Old but GOLD.
this has to be, hands down, "one of the top ten greatest cartoons I've ever had the priveledge of watching".
Looking back, I feel like Mighty Max is a spiritual ancestor of Ben 10.
+1987AnimeBoy Yeah. I was thinking if Star Tropics was a tv show. This was one of the best cartoons on tv.
+1987AnimeBoy We need a crossover fanfic for Ben 10 and Mighty Max NOW.
Too awesome. The world would explode.
TrueHolyRune Better to die from that than from the Sun collapsing under its own weight and exploding.
Mitch Fletcher Nicely put.
every morning before going to work i'd watch this, and i got to tell ya, it was the best mornings ever. unlike pirates of dark water, this show kept it's dark tone, people died, and they'd even talk about finding people diced up, classic stuff.
I watched this every morning before school. this intro is very near & dear to my heart ❤
I freaking loved Norman, he kicked so much ass!
yeah..our generation...80's and 90's cartoons. violence , darkness and great music
indeed, it was very bloody for a cartoon
Man, what great music for a cartoon show intro. No need for excessive vocals, just action packed music.
I used to love this show forever and a day ago, still great to think about the toys today. I'd like to see all the old shows again sometime.
I've got to watch all of these episodes over again. This was one of those underrated cartoons of the 90's that never gets talked about.
Why the hell was this intro so awesome?! It's just distorted wailing guitars. I actually think this is the first piece of metal I ever enjoyed listening to.
oh brings me back to my sweet childhood, I think no kid from today would say it in about 20 years. back than it was perfect enough.
i was born on march 11 2001 and i like the show
This was THE cartoon of the 90's. There were other before, and have been others since, but few match the sheer awesomeness of this one. I want this series on DVD.
Woke up every morning to this show during my later years of grade school. I remember I had the grey skull, open-up miniature playlet. Gold times. Love the wailing guitar in this theme. So 90's and so badass.
90s. best cartoons.
A good video game too. Sega Genesis.
What an amazing show. I remember watching this all the time! :D
Now, what would happen if Mighty Max said Candle Jack and ran it a vortex? Would Can---
I used to love coming home from school and watching things like this every afternoon. That was one of the most fond parts of my childhood.
i cant believe how many people have NVR heard of this show!!!! i used to watch this everyday b4 kindergarten and i LOVED it lol my mom even used to buy me the little play sets they used to have
I remember the goofy old ads for the toyline. I never knew it would translate into such a badass cartoon series.
Also the theme music really gives me chills.
this show was surprisingly violent.
I watched this EVERY morning before i caught the bus. . sad part is. . i had to leave and catch the bus 10 mins before the show ended so i missed the ending all the time. . . lol. . classic show here. . . Golden if u were a 80s baby and watched this when going to school in the morning(early 90s)
Man childhood was so awesome! Proud 80s babies! Lovin that I grew up in the 90s!
I miss that show. I also miss the toys. :(
90s is awesome
Saw every single episode of this show as a kid. I remember being utterly crushed when Normal was killed. Just extreme. Shows aren't as cool or heavy like this anymore.
;-(
pineapplepeanuts But the cool thing was that everything became a time loop is he didn't really die.
Well, remember the final episode where skull master does that magic spell, and basically everything was reset, so Norman's still alive!
Xilo Channel Yeah that. Also, if you REALLY want a kids show with very sad, & scary deaths, then I suggest watching Animals of Farthing Wood.
The 90s were the best. Last generation of kids to have any freedom and imagination.
This was quite possibly one of the greatest cartoons ever to have been made.
Haha I used to have like every one of the toys for this, probs somewhere in the attic :P
Can't remember watching much of the TV show though =o
They don't make them like that no more :(
Makes me want to be 8 years old on saturday mornings all over again. Outstanding show.
Man, used to love this show growing up. The guitar riffs are SOOO kick ass. Furthermore, though a kids' show, the stories could be pretty violent and disturbing. Definitely glad to have been a kid when I watched this!
Give us a Complete Series release on DVD already! I've only seen Mighty Max on VHS tapes on Amazon, when's it going to get a DVD release?
LadyDinoCrisis I found a copy of Mighty Max the complete series on a DVD set on eBay for sale.
They have a few on sale right now on eBay.
Aaand I'm 5 years old again :)
One of the most epic theme songs I've ever heard. Seriously.
Now THIS was a GREAT cartoon show! Action, Adventure, Fantasy, and not only that but while it kept the interest of children who watched it, it also gave them good and interesting facts about many different areas of the world, in other worlds, this was a show that was TEACHING children while it was entertaining them. Truly sad how far we've fallen since the 80's and 90's.
Just don't get shows like this anymore
One of the GREATEST animations of the 90s. Great and original story, interesting characters, excellent voice acting, and TIM CURRY!
People say Curry was great in Witch's Ghost, but his performance in this show was phenomenal.
No collection of creative geniuses working for an indefinite amount of time could ever conceive a more badass show than this
I remember this as a child! it has not come back to my brain for at least ten years!
I had all the plastic toys of the islands he visited with the mini mighty max figures inside. :')
Have spent over 3 hours looking at cartoon theme songs all morning. Inspector Gadget, TMNT, Tale Spin, C&D Rescue Rangers, Gargoyles, Darkwing Duck, Mummies Alive, Beast Wars, Mega Man, Sonic the Hedgehog, Captain Planet, Animaniacs, Bobby's World, X-Men, Batman/Superman Adventures, Spider Man, Johnny Quest, Tiny Toon Adventures, Ducktales and last but not least - my favorite - Mighty Max. Man, what I would give to relive the 90's as a child again.
I watched it on Utub, but this intro was never boring, and I saw it through every time.
I remember this! I was actually hurt when Norman died. I felt like he was my protector.
My mom used to watch this when she was a kid. Rest in peace, mom, who died in 2022.
I remember this show back in the day. They should have made a film.
This was a very creative show!
Found my old Mighty Max Mountain thing I had when I was a kid and just had to look it up. Classic!
This was one of my favorite cartoons when I was a kid! They should make a movie! It would be awesome!
thumbs up if one wishs they could go back and enjoy all these classics again as a kid
Damn this is show that deserves a live-action movie franchise.
Max decided to follow strangers through a mysterious gateway & had tonnes of adventures. That was the moral of the story.
this was my stargate when i was a kid. the fact that ther there could be many planets and dimensions worth fixing still gives me the chills
I wish I had that red cap so I could go back into the 90's and watch this show like I used to...
I loved this show it had a really good edge to it. and great creative story lines which the 90s cartoons oozed of. I love it soo much
Back when toy commercials could be epic and entertaining as all hell. Miss those days.
I can remember seeing this after school. I was in high school then, but a person never get's too old for cartoons. And, I liked this:)
Mighty Max was awesome. This theme tune rocks and I used to collect the toys :D
And this is why the 90's were awesome, and every kid alive to watch these types of cartoon shows were always smiling!
Problem 2012 kids?
Wow, I'd forgotten this even existed! Used to love that show.
Best opening for any cartoon that has ever, and will ever be created. Hail to this theme.
best line ever! this show takes me back wow
I only remember one thing of this show, the big guy was scared of spiders, Max shouts at him "I thought he was brave" and the bird guy tells Max "Being brave doesn't mean to have no fears but to confront them" dude, that line really rooted on me.
That show was one of the best things in my childhood
What made this show awesome can be summed up in one word: NORM!!!! Fricking loved that guy!
Yeah! I remembered almost all the episodes and monsters just by watching this! I have to watch this cartoon again! And, yes. It has the potential to be an awesome movie!
@tg1king I remember that episode. Had one of my favorite lines of all time:
StickFace man: Wait! if you kill me, then you're no better than me!
Norman: I can live that.
Hello again, nostalgia.
Thanks for reminding me of happier times.
This was the last of what I call the 'classic' 80's style cartoons. It had a plot, engaged your brain, wasn't anime and wasn't brain dead like Spongebob. Used to be on Sundays if I can recall. It was the last cartoon I actually got up early to see on a weekend.
I loved this show when I was little. Norman was one of my first fictional crushes. ^_^ And holy crap I didn't realize until just now that Bull from Night Court voiced Normal. Richard Moll is freakin awesome.
one of my favs growing up. use to watch this every morning
i was hooked to this show as a child 90's were and still rock
I miss this show!!! I loving this show!!! really is best show!!! I used watch it back to 95s between 97s...I think.
oh man i haven't this in years. damn this is a classic. this is why i love UA-cam. You can find anything and people are willing to put up their old collection of stuff so others can see it. This would have gotten lost in time. That alone is thanks enough. The 90's were excellent
My old neighbors used to have the action figures and sets.....might max is so tiny compared to the cartoon!!! Loved the guy who did the deep voice!!!
I have forgotten about mighty Max and every thing man...it's been soo long
wow talk about childhood...memories pouring out...
I remember watching this every morning before school.
I know how people always say "i almost forgot about this" when it comes to this old-school stuff...but holy crap...i really forgot this existed until i saw this!
0:21 he walked up to him like...”Yo max we gotta GTF!!”😂😂
Classic. A lot of people don't realize how clever a show this was and not to mention educational at the end of every episode. Today's shows (as so many others have said) are missing this element.
Gotta love being born in the late 80's.
one of the best cartoons of my generation! skull-master for the win!
Oh my gosh, I loved this show! Because of this, Fantastic Max, and Max from Goof Troop, I love the name "Max."
That was a cool show. Like Norman being all of history's greatest mythological heroes.
GOD I LOVED THIS SHOW! the intro music is so epic!
thank you I never thought I'd remember this shows name I remember loving this! thank you thank you thank you!
man... I grew up on this!!!! I remember being really bummed out by the last episode....
I've never seen this show, but the art style rox my sox. ♥♥♥
WOW!
This brings back memories from when I was 7 in 1993 and when I was 8 in 1994.
Just watching that, makes me feel soo old. brings back memorys.
this brings back many memories, a great show, glad I could saw it wen I was a Kid :)
Oh god that show the nostaglia is pouring back, this show was pure badassery.
kids today would not appreciate the 90 shows that we all grow within the nineties a lot better than the cartoons today
I loved MIGHTY max as a kid I remember watching this every sunday and reruns on the weekdays before I went to school... wow this brings me back this and samurai pizza cats... not to mention X-MEN and SPiderman every saturday on FOX KIDS ROCKS KIDS ohhhh I miss the 90's
I USED TO LOVE THIS CARTOON!!! takes me back
I remember the last episode wehre every died the most. Oh, the sweet, sweet nostalgia. THis show and Conan were all I cared about.
Cook up some ramen noodles and just go to town watching this during the summer.
This show was so awesome back in the day.
