Christianity or living in faith isn't meant to be easy guys. Not the broadway where many follows, but the narrow difficult way. There are good anime's out there, but we should stop looking for excuses to justify what is wrong. Read the Bible to see what is acceptable❤ there's not a lot of preachers out there that can help you. Only Jesus will, if you live by God's commandments😊
I have watched a lot of anime in my life and my all time favorite anime is One Piece. But according to 1 John 2: 15 - 17 it sound as if you are justifying self pleasure in attempts of finding a loop hole in the word of God. But isn't it that once you accept Jesus Christ in your life,100% devotion is what you should gun for. Anything less than that, even if it's 99.9% in Jesus and 0.1% in the world, your are no better than those who devote 100% in the world...
thanks for the reply, my friend. This is no attempt to justify loopholes for Christians in their walk with Christ. This is all about using God-given reason and discernment to curate content that is not harmful for our Christian walk. Anime in itself is simply an art form, a mode of expression and creativity. In and of itself Anime is not evil inherently. But, the problem comes when some, not all, anime depict ideologies and images that do not strengthen our faith journeys such demonic themes, hypersexualization, and excessive gore. The passage you used is a great counsel on not mixing ourselves with the evils of this world. The world is full of evil. But in John 3:16 we read that God loved the world and gave the world His only Son. I know that Anime is near and dear to many and it has helped many learn valuable life lessons. Sometimes, many Bible themes and lessons are taught through the lens of Anime. May we be in the world but not of the world. By "of the world" I am referring to aligning with the wickedness of the world. Jesus came into the world to make a difference. May we choose to, while in this world, make a difference as well. That is how serious this is, but you are allowing the deception and this love for anime, and maybe pride, to blind... If it is that easy for Satan to get you to hold onto anime worlds without Jesus, without biblical teachings, and fill your mind with even subliminal messages or things you think you are filtering out, then he is doing a good job. If you think anime worlds that do not include knowledge or following of Jesus are good things to watch, maybe you think they will exist in the New Earth too? Yes, there can be good moral lessons mixed in with any content created by unbelievers, but is your eye more discerning to find a reason you can keep watching it, than to ask why it avoids speaking the truth about God in it? And how much time did Jesus or the disciples spend sitting to watch tv? Do you ask yourself more why God gives you temporary time in this world, and what the purpose our time is to be used for? We will also be held accountable for how we use our resources and talents. I am not saying this in a negative tone, but as someone who also used to love anime and it was a guiding part of my life as an artist.
@@peachbunThe thing is that we actually can't find enough content that is 100% identical with the lessons of the Bible. Sure, there are some good and qualitative christain series such as The Chosen. But they get consumed by us in a couple of months. I think Felipe gave us truly useful tips in choosing our media feed, but I do agree with your idea that we shouldn't be defending tipical anime with power. It all depends on the lenses we set up BEFORE actually starting to watch a new anime, and not AFTER. These lenses shouldn't be flexible.
There are hidden gems of anime that are secretly theistic or Christian without actually using any biblical imagery or themes. One that I've recently watched is Inuyashiki. The anime is notorious for some of the violent scenes, but it is a basic examination of theism vs atheism and nihilism, and how nihilism can become a wrecking ball on society.

I’m not an anime fan but I watched a few Dragon Ball episode and now I find One Piece and I bought the manga to. I’m 43 catholic with family and I like One Piece because Luffy character is a fresh breath of air for me.I like his hope, goal and joy and we need this, especialy today. Jesus Christ is the real treasure we search and we are sailing in the ocean of life. We’ll get there, we’ll find the Heavanly Island.
I've seen so many videos that disagree on whether you should watch or not. They just prove the following. Christianity in the age of social media. Christians - I'm going to go online and find some random person that I know nothing about to tell me what to believe and how to live my life. Other Christians - Great idea! I did the same thing! Except, I chose a different person because yours doesn't tell me exactly what I want to hear. Meanwhile - God - That's not how any of this is supposed to work 🤦♂️
It's blasted difficult to find good anime, particularly if you're relying on online reviews! My favourite series so far is Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit - REALLY weird ending to a beautiful story, though; I was disappointed by that. If you like Kenshin you might enjoy it, if you're okay with fantasy. It's got a deeper, more complex story (or at least it does compared to as far as I got with Kenshin before being scared off by the murderer who could freeze people!) You'd have to be okay with more realistic fight sequences, though. People DO get seriously injured in this story. I can't remember whether anyone actually dies in a fight, but I wouldn't be surprised. Balsa herself won't kill, but many other characters don't have these compunctions... so again, sort of like Kenshin, I guess. I've got another one on my watchlist because it was reviewed as being similar to Moribito (The Twelve Kingdoms), which I've seen about 8 episodes of and enjoyed even though I've already started getting lost (which was also mentioned in the reviews as something that Would Happen). Snow White with the Red Hair is harmless and beautiful but I have to be in the mood to watch something with little plot before I can watch that. I'm not really a fan of romance. However, Obi is hilarious. I really like Avatar: The Last Airbender, mostly because of Zuko and his redemption arc, but will skip a few episodes (the one with the witch who can control people, and the weird one about opening the chakras, although oddly not the one with the frankly-terrifying Face-Stealer spirit). I did try Korra but... no. But the most Christian anime I've ever seen is the film A Silent Voice - however, I wouldn't recommend it for children. Very serious themes (ranging from bullying to attempted suicide).
As a Christian, I wasn't expecting A Silent Voice to be recommended. I've watched the movie before, and I really liked it. But, yes, way more adult themes.

What are your thoughts on My Hero Academia? There is some cursing, but it also has great message such as never giving up and staying strong for what you believe in.

In the end, its about being aware of the “fluff” that’s added into some anime (all media in general) that is not beneficial for your spiritual growth. For example: a show may have a very relatable protagonist with very admirable virtues BUT if every episode is littered with the sexualization of characters, grotesque and unnecessary gore, of a deeply depressive and nihilistic vibe, then your mind will be affected in some way. Repeated negative stimulation can alter our state of mind. You have to try to analyze what you watch and see if you can spot the patterns and how these patterns affect you. Thanks for the comment!

Demon slayer has never hindered my walk with Christ in fact it's teaches, courage/bravery, forgiveness, good vs evil, not giving up etc. Example, if it's a stumbling block for you I agree you shouldn't watch it but it's not a stumbling block for someone like me

Demon slayer is a perfect example of anime that showcase certain Christian elements, even though it's based on Buddhist beliefs. Such as the idea of Life, and caregiving those that are dear to us

I’m late but I want to say this. I DO NOT recommend watching “Obey Me” the anime/game. It contains demons but not the ones the normal ones in anime but lucifer and satan as characters that look “attractive” in a way. I got into the anime until I saw they’re names. That anime has lucifer, satan and many more. I don’t recommend it.

Yesss, thank you for saying this! I know the storyline and characters are super charming and funny (what I remember from playing the game) but I'd get so uncomfortable when Satan appeared on screen. Then I felt weirder when I realised the main cast represented different sins so I dropped it. There are other amazing otome games out there and while I had this conviction, I know other people might not feel the same way :)

In japan, the concept of demons are very different from our western concept. To our understanding, demons are evil angels that serve Satan; according to the Bible. To the japanese, demons are spirits. Some are good while others are bad. I know little about the show but it is not one I would watch. There are many dark and demonic images in the show which lend to it a more darker tone. It is just not the anime that I recommend, I hope you are able to pray about it and see if it has any concerns for your mental and spiritual life. Take care!

I have 2 problems with Demon Slayer. # 1 Nezuko "is" a demon. She is a human girl with a demon but if the show starts making her okay being a demon then I am out. # 2 The demons are given sympathy. Demons do not care or love anyone. Demons are not good in any way. I like Demon Slayer but I am also torn because of these two things.

It's okay, AOT is one of my favorite animes; though I was a little uncomfortable (not disgusted, but uncomfortable) about certain violent scenes. Besides that, I really like the character development and many of the life lessons. Made me realize many things about human nature. It may not be the same to everyone tho, be careful with what you watch. I watched it and tried to take the best messages out of it, making sure I didn't misinterpret anything. This story among many others could end up being harmful if misinterpreted.
I do have a question about Demon slayer it's really popular and I watch both seasons plus the movie, I even have mangas and statue figure. Tell me your opinion about Demon slayer

I feel a certain discomfort watching anime of this kind and I choose not to. This is me. Action anime can be very alluring, this is true. Pastor I need advice I really enjoy watching naruto and I am a Christian and I know to always put god first and I do but should I still watch naruto I really enjoy it but I am not sure if I should continue because it does have some good life lessons and etc but not sure,pls respond god bless you ❤️
Thanks for the reply my friend Jelly cat! Naruto is a classic at this point and I myself have watched it to a certain extent. Naruto, like many other shonen does teach some valuable life lessons that often times our schools, parents, and family neglect teaching us. There are some themes and episodes that I too felt a bit uncomfortable in watching, especially the initial portrayal of Orochimaru and the dense evil that the show granted him. I believe that those uncomfortable moments are the Spirit nudging us to be aware of the darkness that is very much a part of our reality. In moments like this, I often stop watching, skip ahead, take a break, or decide even if Im gonna continue to invest in a show. I dont like to push through the discomfort because then it makes me numb to the urging of God's Spirit. When we are numb to God's Spirit's work, then our faith weakens or becomes just another thing we do. I have not watched all of Naruto for that reason but that was my choice. You have to choose what you think is of most benefit to you in the long run. You wont lose salvation because you watch Naruto, neither will I, but we have to be aware of what happens when we push through something even when we feel that Spiritual nudge. Fullmetal Alchemist was so interesting BUT , again, some of those moments made the experience difficult. I ended up reading the plot of that anime rather than actually watching it lol. Today there are def youtube channels and podcasts that discuss shows, that might also be a way to get the idea but avoid the spiritual discomfort. Will pray for you , my friend!
Can you recommend any anime or manga? I really liked Death Note and One Punch Man, however I think those might be too extreme to let my son watch. My son got a Naruto manga but unbeknownst to us it had demons and Naruto disguised himself as a nude woman in the first manga. I want some manga and anime that he’ll enjoy without having a negative impact.
I never thought much about sci-fi anime. I don't know why I don't get into those. I get pretty picky with sports anime. The only sports anime that I like right now is Haikyuu. Absolutely love the show. I do like romance and romcom anime, but I tend to stick to those that don't have a lot of sexualization (is that a word?) and have a lot of revealing for female characters. I tend to look at the age rating also. I stay away from anime that's over TV-14. I did watch one that was over TV-14. It wasn't so bad, but I feel like it would be one of those animes that I wouldn't go back to. The only anime (and the first anime) I watched that had villains was My Hero Academia. I'd like to know what your opinion as a Christian about My Hero Academia if you've seen it that is.

But I alos do enjoy Haikyuu and I know that some romance anime do get a little generous with fan service and I try to stay away from that. hypersexualization is not something that I enjoy in anime but it comes with the culture and we have to learn how to properly select from a mixed bag of anime. I like your standards and your system of curation. Very good! If only many other people were as committed as you are to carefully choosing anime rather than just hopping on trends.

But I have watched sci-fi anime since I've last watched this video. I actually kind of like it, and it will probably be the closest I'll get without crossing over into fantasy.
Naruto is a good fantasy anime and the final arc actually has a very clear Christian allegory (admitted even by the author) in the final arc the main character is revealed to be the child of prophecy that was prophesied to come and bring peace to the world and defeat a woman who ate A fruit from a tree to try and become God (an allegory for eve aka sin) and he also defeats a beast that is a statue that has come to life (The beast) throughout the series it’s got a very anti-revenge message and shows that hatred is evil and revenge will do nothing but eat someone up from the inside out. It is based on Japanese mythology so I would warn that there are some spiritual elements to it (Japanese mythological spirits, chakrah etc) and it has some sexual content so well I recommend I ask you to take it with a grain of salt (:
Pastor is it okay to watch jojo bizare adventure part 3 because in the anime joeseph joestar sometimes says the Lords name in vain or swear words and if its not can i just watch the fight scenes
Swear words can be an issue for us. If the fights interest you more than the anime and there is less swearing then thats something you can consider, my friend! Take care!

This is important to read but always always pray about it and go to God first: I went through a deliverance this recently, and I had to be delivered from demons i got from these animes. Demon slayer, Seven Deadly Sins, Berserk (my past I watched it years back) DBZ, Black Clover, Attack On Titan, and other animes that opened me up to the demonic. I literally got demons from them. I know, I know, not all anime is bad, that's not at all this post. I'm saying there's more to things. Sometimes it's not worth the convenience to stay free from demons. Even video games, not all, but some I caught demons from. The Holy Spirit shows us things for a reason in our own lives. He knows things we dont. Spiritual freedom from sin and demons is better than anything, and I mean that in terms of our hearts posture towards the Lord, not perfection. He is our righteous and that never changed. We are not sinless. But Anyways, I would like to share with you all an update that I think it's important to share. I'm not sure exactly how, and when, but I went through a deliverance this recently and I had to be delivered from an evil spirit that came through some and more that I listed. I don't know how many and exactly all of which to the extent, but what I did list what was revealed to me during my deliverance. As tough and as odd as it sounds, it's true. This is completely different than what my comment was about at the time (which is pinned down below if anyone wants to see it). What I will say is that ofcourse I'm not at all on any position to infringe upon freedoms as as a Christian, but as a brother in Christ I wanna shed some light on something that may change the way many of us look at anime, the more we seek God's face, the more the Holy Spirit reveals things to us and there's definitely much more to the spiritual realm with the demonic and how clever Satan is. I'll put it this way my siblings. There's definitely spiritual components that drive some of these animes, and although not all of them have a demonic component to them, many of them certainly have a spiritual impact that opens us up to getting demon. I'm not the guy that points at everything and calls everything a demon but my eyes were open big time during the deliverance. The Lord loves us so much, and He's there every step of the way, so please know that. At the same time, A lot of these things do open us to demons and torment. The Holy Spirit convicted me to stop watching a year ago for a reason beyond a surface level fact. It was not only an idol, but spiritually there was somethings that it was low-key emphasizing and also, a demon straight up entered me through that anime. Many animes in fact. Again, it's not bad in itself, because it's art, but I'm telling you we fight against the rulers and demons and god of this world for real, and it's serious when the Holy Spirit personally shows us things in our life that not only we need to renounce and repent of, but also seek deliverance from. Again, I would pray about all this, because the reason why I'm saying all this is because I literally from this man, and it had to get casted out of me amongst many things. I've been free spiritually since my deliverance. I have more self control than I did, my thinking is clearer, the Holy Spirit wants a relationship with us and to be conformed to Jesus. There is freedom, so no no I'm not trying to be legalistic, that's demonic too and I had to be delivered from that too, for we are under grace ofcourse. All I'm saying is that I got a demon from this and didn't think so a year ago in the former comments. I just wanted to make this known because I was ignorant of alot. I'll be honest but I'll cut straight to the chase as well, I've had more conviction in my life recently with everything around us which of course we are to keep that arms distance as followers of Jesus. But I grew up a huge DBZ fan, from a kid to now. I'm not really into anime much or even keep up after spending time with the Lord and it'll probably stay that way. but with super heroes coming out in theatres, I was thinking about seeing it as a fan of anime. I know it's combat, and I don't really like the choices of power level names nor the ideas of certain things, when looking at it biblically, but it never made me stumble when watching it. I like the elements of seeing bad characters turn good, Goku giving chances, and the belittling of Mr Satan as a weak character. Hey my friend, Thanks for the thoughtful reply! I used to be a fan of the show as well but lost interest over time. As far as I understand it, the premise of the show is powerful aliens who always seem to want to destroy earth yet they are stopped by Goku and the Z fighters. I understand that the show recently also expands to other realms and protecting other realms as well. In my experience, Dragon Ball is actually one of the more tamed anime out there. It its straightforward and does not entertain dark themes, is not gorry, and does not have over-sexualization (occasionally Master Roshi has a problem controlling himself but its still tamed). Some anime are comfortable in fiction territory where others try to bridge fiction with reality with its concepts. In creating that bridge and presenting gore, sexualization, and demonic imagery, I believe that the succeptible mind can be negatively affected. I always invite people to listen to the alarm of the Holy Spirit that is felt in the heart whenever they encounter any type of media. To analyze it for what is really is aside from the flashy combat, flashy effects, flashy anythings. Whenever you approach anime, approach it with an exchange mentality; what is this giving me and what am I giving toward it? I hope you do your reflection and prayer about this. Be blessed!
My favorite anime to watch is dragon ball, and many fan made stuff, and dragon ball heroes. Are there things I need to keep an eye on when I watch or think about dragon ball? Because the one video game I like is Dragon ball Xenoverse 2, what I like about is that you can create your own character, it can be a saiyan, like goku, a frost demon, like frieza, namekians, like piccolo, plus many people did that and it’s cool, but I still want to have my private prayer life and talk to god and having friendships with many Chirstian’s. Jesus is king.

@@Meriafilms This is a tricky one for me. I greatly admire the overall message at the end of the show, the pursuit of truth and the complexity of truth. Along the way there are some imagery that I do not personally like to see very much. This is why i enjoyed reading about it rather than watching it. I do know that watching certain demonic-like imagery does trigger something in me, given that I was raised in a 3rd world country where I have encountered the occult face to face in places where I was raised. The anime overall, for me, a great anime. Do I vibe with everything in between? No. That's just me.
Hello . Have you ever watched neon genesis evangelion? Its a si-fi type anime. How would you consider it or you opinion of the story/theme? Do you think it has any biblical relevance?
Yes I have seen it, the original anime and the end of evangelion movie. It definitely touches on some religious/faith themes. Most of those themes seem to be more affiliated with the jewish Kabala faith culture. I believe it is a masterpiece of a show that if viewed without the proper lens could lead many to nihilism and depression. The show really relishes on the brokenness of humanity and the focus that life itself is meaningless aside form instrumentality, the loss of self, freedom, and identity to be nothing more than an "instrument" to be used. It is a mindset I do not agree with and one which I believe is very opposite to the Biblical concept of the creation of humanity and its identity/purpose/and significance tied to God. I believe that the concept of instrumentality is Satan's method of work instead of God's. Great quesiton!

Thanks for the comment Luis! Allow me to address your frustration. The “do this, don’t do this” is not an approach that I take. My approach is to give proper principles to follow according to scripture and allow people to think through those principles and decide what their next step is. You would have been introduced to those principles if you had watched my first video on anime (vlog #7). You might be that person that if told directly not do to something will effortlessly follow through. The majority of teens are not like you and different approaches need to be implemented. I know that this is the popular anime right now but I’d avoid it. Too much dark and demonic imagery for me. I pray you talk to God and follow where He points your heart to. Stay humble.
I've watched it, and I think you would be better off without it. Agree with comment on demonic imagery, and I don't really see what kind of moral lesson you can learn from the show. The focus is really more on action and fight scenes. Naruto/Shippuden is a much better alternative in almost every way.

Christianity or living in faith isn't meant to be easy guys. Not the broadway where many follows, but the narrow difficult way. There are good anime's out there, but we should stop looking for excuses to justify what is wrong. Read the Bible to see what is acceptable❤ there's not a lot of preachers out there that can help you. Only Jesus will, if you live by God's commandments😊
I have watched a lot of anime in my life and my all time favorite anime is One Piece. But according to 1 John 2: 15 - 17 it sound as if you are justifying self pleasure in attempts of finding a loop hole in the word of God. But isn't it that once you accept Jesus Christ in your life,100% devotion is what you should gun for. Anything less than that, even if it's 99.9% in Jesus and 0.1% in the world, your are no better than those who devote 100% in the world...
thanks for the reply, my friend. This is no attempt to justify loopholes for Christians in their walk with Christ. This is all about using God-given reason and discernment to curate content that is not harmful for our Christian walk. Anime in itself is simply an art form, a mode of expression and creativity. In and of itself Anime is not evil inherently. But, the problem comes when some, not all, anime depict ideologies and images that do not strengthen our faith journeys such demonic themes, hypersexualization, and excessive gore.
The passage you used is a great counsel on not mixing ourselves with the evils of this world. The world is full of evil. But in John 3:16 we read that God loved the world and gave the world His only Son. I know that Anime is near and dear to many and it has helped many learn valuable life lessons. Sometimes, many Bible themes and lessons are taught through the lens of Anime.
May we be in the world but not of the world. By "of the world" I am referring to aligning with the wickedness of the world. Jesus came into the world to make a difference. May we choose to, while in this world, make a difference as well.

If you think anime worlds that do not include knowledge or following of Jesus are good things to watch, maybe you think they will exist in the New Earth too?
Yes, there can be good moral lessons mixed in with any content created by unbelievers, but is your eye more discerning to find a reason you can keep watching it, than to ask why it avoids speaking the truth about God in it?
And how much time did Jesus or the disciples spend sitting to watch tv? Do you ask yourself more why God gives you temporary time in this world, and what the purpose our time is to be used for? We will also be held accountable for how we use our resources and talents.
I am not saying this in a negative tone, but as someone who also used to love anime and it was a guiding part of my life as an artist.
@@peachbunThe thing is that we actually can't find enough content that is 100% identical with the lessons of the Bible. Sure, there are some good and qualitative christain series such as The Chosen. But they get consumed by us in a couple of months. I think Felipe gave us truly useful tips in choosing our media feed, but I do agree with your idea that we shouldn't be defending tipical anime with power. It all depends on the lenses we set up BEFORE actually starting to watch a new anime, and not AFTER. These lenses shouldn't be flexible.

There are hidden gems of anime that are secretly theistic or Christian without actually using any biblical imagery or themes. One that I've recently watched is Inuyashiki. The anime is notorious for some of the violent scenes, but it is a basic examination of theism vs atheism and nihilism, and how nihilism can become a wrecking ball on society.
thanks for the comment my friend! Some anime contain some deep and worthwhile themes but normally its packed with some other things that distract from them. You mentioned violence, I agree that it can be distracting.
I’m not an anime fan but I watched a few Dragon Ball episode and now I find One Piece and I bought the manga to. I’m 43 catholic with family and I like One Piece because Luffy character is a fresh breath of air for me.I like his hope, goal and joy and we need this, especialy today. Jesus Christ is the real treasure we search and we are sailing in the ocean of life. We’ll get there, we’ll find the Heavanly Island.
I've seen so many videos that disagree on whether you should watch or not.
They just prove the following.
Christianity in the age of social media.
Christians - I'm going to go online and find some random person that I know nothing about to tell me what to believe and how to live my life.
Other Christians - Great idea! I did the same thing! Except, I chose a different person because yours doesn't tell me exactly what I want to hear.

It's blasted difficult to find good anime, particularly if you're relying on online reviews! My favourite series so far is Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit - REALLY weird ending to a beautiful story, though; I was disappointed by that. If you like Kenshin you might enjoy it, if you're okay with fantasy. It's got a deeper, more complex story (or at least it does compared to as far as I got with Kenshin before being scared off by the murderer who could freeze people!) You'd have to be okay with more realistic fight sequences, though. People DO get seriously injured in this story. I can't remember whether anyone actually dies in a fight, but I wouldn't be surprised. Balsa herself won't kill, but many other characters don't have these compunctions... so again, sort of like Kenshin, I guess.
I've got another one on my watchlist because it was reviewed as being similar to Moribito (The Twelve Kingdoms), which I've seen about 8 episodes of and enjoyed even though I've already started getting lost (which was also mentioned in the reviews as something that Would Happen).
Snow White with the Red Hair is harmless and beautiful but I have to be in the mood to watch something with little plot before I can watch that. I'm not really a fan of romance. However, Obi is hilarious.
I really like Avatar: The Last Airbender, mostly because of Zuko and his redemption arc, but will skip a few episodes (the one with the witch who can control people, and the weird one about opening the chakras, although oddly not the one with the frankly-terrifying Face-Stealer spirit). I did try Korra but... no.
But the most Christian anime I've ever seen is the film A Silent Voice - however, I wouldn't recommend it for children. Very serious themes (ranging from bullying to attempted suicide).

As a Christian, I wasn't expecting A Silent Voice to be recommended. I've watched the movie before, and I really liked it. But, yes, way more adult themes.

As far as other anime recommendations, one of the cleanest shoujo anime is "My Love Story". It's overall really wholesome.

In the end, its about being aware of the “fluff” that’s added into some anime (all media in general) that is not beneficial for your spiritual growth. For example: a show may have a very relatable protagonist with very admirable virtues BUT if every episode is littered with the sexualization of characters, grotesque and unnecessary gore, of a deeply depressive and nihilistic vibe, then your mind will be affected in some way. Repeated negative stimulation can alter our state of mind. You have to try to analyze what you watch and see if you can spot the patterns and how these patterns affect you. Thanks for the comment!

Demon slayer has never hindered my walk with Christ in fact it's teaches, courage/bravery, forgiveness, good vs evil, not giving up etc. Example, if it's a stumbling block for you I agree you shouldn't watch it but it's not a stumbling block for someone like me

Demon slayer is a perfect example of anime that showcase certain Christian elements, even though it's based on Buddhist beliefs. Such as the idea of Life, and caregiving those that are dear to us

I’m late but I want to say this. I DO NOT recommend watching “Obey Me” the anime/game. It contains demons but not the ones the normal ones in anime but lucifer and satan as characters that look “attractive” in a way. I got into the anime until I saw they’re names. That anime has lucifer, satan and many more. I don’t recommend it.

Yesss, thank you for saying this! I know the storyline and characters are super charming and funny (what I remember from playing the game) but I'd get so uncomfortable when Satan appeared on screen. Then I felt weirder when I realised the main cast represented different sins so I dropped it. There are other amazing otome games out there and while I had this conviction, I know other people might not feel the same way :)

In japan, the concept of demons are very different from our western concept. To our understanding, demons are evil angels that serve Satan; according to the Bible. To the japanese, demons are spirits. Some are good while others are bad. I know little about the show but it is not one I would watch. There are many dark and demonic images in the show which lend to it a more darker tone. It is just not the anime that I recommend, I hope you are able to pray about it and see if it has any concerns for your mental and spiritual life. Take care!

I have 2 problems with Demon Slayer. # 1 Nezuko "is" a demon. She is a human girl with a demon but if the show starts making her okay being a demon then I am out. # 2 The demons are given sympathy. Demons do not care or love anyone. Demons are not good in any way. I like Demon Slayer but I am also torn because of these two things.

It's okay, AOT is one of my favorite animes; though I was a little uncomfortable (not disgusted, but uncomfortable) about certain violent scenes. Besides that, I really like the character development and many of the life lessons. Made me realize many things about human nature.
It may not be the same to everyone tho, be careful with what you watch. I watched it and tried to take the best messages out of it, making sure I didn't misinterpret anything.
This story among many others could end up being harmful if misinterpreted.

Thanks for the reply my friend Jelly cat! Naruto is a classic at this point and I myself have watched it to a certain extent. Naruto, like many other shonen does teach some valuable life lessons that often times our schools, parents, and family neglect teaching us. There are some themes and episodes that I too felt a bit uncomfortable in watching, especially the initial portrayal of Orochimaru and the dense evil that the show granted him. I believe that those uncomfortable moments are the Spirit nudging us to be aware of the darkness that is very much a part of our reality. In moments like this, I often stop watching, skip ahead, take a break, or decide even if Im gonna continue to invest in a show.
I dont like to push through the discomfort because then it makes me numb to the urging of God's Spirit. When we are numb to God's Spirit's work, then our faith weakens or becomes just another thing we do.
I have not watched all of Naruto for that reason but that was my choice. You have to choose what you think is of most benefit to you in the long run. You wont lose salvation because you watch Naruto, neither will I, but we have to be aware of what happens when we push through something even when we feel that Spiritual nudge.
Fullmetal Alchemist was so interesting BUT , again, some of those moments made the experience difficult. I ended up reading the plot of that anime rather than actually watching it lol. Today there are def youtube channels and podcasts that discuss shows, that might also be a way to get the idea but avoid the spiritual discomfort.

I really liked Death Note and One Punch Man, however I think those might be too extreme to let my son watch. My son got a Naruto manga but unbeknownst to us it had demons and Naruto disguised himself as a nude woman in the first manga. I want some manga and anime that he’ll enjoy without having a negative impact.
What about One Piece?
I never thought much about sci-fi anime. I don't know why I don't get into those. I get pretty picky with sports anime. The only sports anime that I like right now is Haikyuu. Absolutely love the show. I do like romance and romcom anime, but I tend to stick to those that don't have a lot of sexualization (is that a word?) and have a lot of revealing for female characters. I tend to look at the age rating also. I stay away from anime that's over TV-14. I did watch one that was over TV-14. It wasn't so bad, but I feel like it would be one of those animes that I wouldn't go back to.
The only anime (and the first anime) I watched that had villains was My Hero Academia. I'd like to know what your opinion as a Christian about My Hero Academia if you've seen it that is.

But I alos do enjoy Haikyuu and I know that some romance anime do get a little generous with fan service and I try to stay away from that. hypersexualization is not something that I enjoy in anime but it comes with the culture and we have to learn how to properly select from a mixed bag of anime. I like your standards and your system of curation. Very good! If only many other people were as committed as you are to carefully choosing anime rather than just hopping on trends.

But I have watched sci-fi anime since I've last watched this video. I actually kind of like it, and it will probably be the closest I'll get without crossing over into fantasy.
Naruto is a good fantasy anime and the final arc actually has a very clear Christian allegory (admitted even by the author) in the final arc the main character is revealed to be the child of prophecy that was prophesied to come and bring peace to the world and defeat a woman who ate A fruit from a tree to try and become God (an allegory for eve aka sin) and he also defeats a beast that is a statue that has come to life (The beast) throughout the series it’s got a very anti-revenge message and shows that hatred is evil and revenge will do nothing but eat someone up from the inside out. It is based on Japanese mythology so I would warn that there are some spiritual elements to it (Japanese mythological spirits, chakrah etc) and it has some sexual content so well I recommend I ask you to take it with a grain of salt (:

I went through a deliverance this recently, and I had to be delivered from demons i got from these animes. Demon slayer, Seven Deadly Sins, Berserk (my past I watched it years back) DBZ, Black Clover, Attack On Titan, and other animes that opened me up to the demonic. I literally got demons from them. I know, I know, not all anime is bad, that's not at all this post. I'm saying there's more to things. Sometimes it's not worth the convenience to stay free from demons. Even video games, not all, but some I caught demons from. The Holy Spirit shows us things for a reason in our own lives. He knows things we dont. Spiritual freedom from sin and demons is better than anything, and I mean that in terms of our hearts posture towards the Lord, not perfection. He is our righteous and that never changed. We are not sinless. But Anyways,
I would like to share with you all an update that I think it's important to share. I'm not sure exactly how, and when, but I went through a deliverance this recently and I had to be delivered from an evil spirit that came through some and more that I listed. I don't know how many and exactly all of which to the extent, but what I did list what was revealed to me during my deliverance. As tough and as odd as it sounds, it's true. This is completely different than what my comment was about at the time (which is pinned down below if anyone wants to see it). What I will say is that ofcourse I'm not at all on any position to infringe upon freedoms as as a Christian, but as a brother in Christ I wanna shed some light on something that may change the way many of us look at anime, the more we seek God's face, the more the Holy Spirit reveals things to us and there's definitely much more to the spiritual realm with the demonic and how clever Satan is.
I'll put it this way my siblings. There's definitely spiritual components that drive some of these animes, and although not all of them have a demonic component to them, many of them certainly have a spiritual impact that opens us up to getting demon. I'm not the guy that points at everything and calls everything a demon but my eyes were open big time during the deliverance. The Lord loves us so much, and He's there every step of the way, so please know that. At the same time, A lot of these things do open us to demons and torment. The Holy Spirit convicted me to stop watching a year ago for a reason beyond a surface level fact. It was not only an idol, but spiritually there was somethings that it was low-key emphasizing and also, a demon straight up entered me through that anime. Many animes in fact.
Again, it's not bad in itself, because it's art, but I'm telling you we fight against the rulers and demons and god of this world for real, and it's serious when the Holy Spirit personally shows us things in our life that not only we need to renounce and repent of, but also seek deliverance from.
Again, I would pray about all this, because the reason why I'm saying all this is because I literally from this man, and it had to get casted out of me amongst many things. I've been free spiritually since my deliverance. I have more self control than I did, my thinking is clearer, the Holy Spirit wants a relationship with us and to be conformed to Jesus. There is freedom, so no no I'm not trying to be legalistic, that's demonic too and I had to be delivered from that too, for we are under grace ofcourse. All I'm saying is that I got a demon from this and didn't think so a year ago in the former comments. I just wanted to make this known because I was ignorant of alot. It harmed me and that's why I'm saying something, unfortunately the devil pollutes more than we know and the spiritual warfare is real. And The Holy Spirit Himself man is trying to get us all to see what He sees, but please take it all to the Lord. I would just recommend spending time with Him more. I'm still trying to figure everything out, but there's so much more to everything. I wanted to let you know. God bless, I hope you consider my words. I'm not doing this to try to scare or hurt or make anyone paranoid, please don't be paranoid. We have authority as believers to vast demons out, and even on ourselves. If we die and a demon wasn't casted out, we still go to heaven, a demon won't stop your will from loving Jesus or get between you. Just please, repent (change your mind) and confess if it's anything sinful against God. He has grace and mercy always and loves us and will forgive us instantly. So please don't get paranoid. I just wanted to share because I love you guys and it'd be so grievous not to tell you guys the truth. I love you all, so much. God bless you my siblings.

Pastor, my man. I think the grounds you cover is incredibly needed! That being said sir, what are your thoughts on DBZ? I'll be honest but I'll cut straight to the chase as well, I've had more conviction in my life recently with everything around us which of course we are to keep that arms distance as followers of Jesus. But I grew up a huge DBZ fan, from a kid to now. I'm not really into anime much or even keep up after spending time with the Lord and it'll probably stay that way. but with super heroes coming out in theatres, I was thinking about seeing it as a fan of anime. I know it's combat, and I don't really like the choices of power level names nor the ideas of certain things, when looking at it biblically, but it never made me stumble when watching it. I like the elements of seeing bad characters turn good, Goku giving chances, and the belittling of Mr Satan as a weak character. I do however have more discernment with everything I watch and as someone eventually retiring anime as an interest, I'd like your thoughts on the series?

As far as I understand it, the premise of the show is powerful aliens who always seem to want to destroy earth yet they are stopped by Goku and the Z fighters. I understand that the show recently also expands to other realms and protecting other realms as well. In my experience, Dragon Ball is actually one of the more tamed anime out there. It its straightforward and does not entertain dark themes, is not gorry, and does not have over-sexualization (occasionally Master Roshi has a problem controlling himself but its still tamed). Some anime are comfortable in fiction territory where others try to bridge fiction with reality with its concepts. In creating that bridge and presenting gore, sexualization, and demonic imagery, I believe that the succeptible mind can be negatively affected. I always invite people to listen to the alarm of the Holy Spirit that is felt in the heart whenever they encounter any type of media. To analyze it for what is really is aside from the flashy combat, flashy effects, flashy anythings. Whenever you approach anime, approach it with an exchange mentality; what is this giving me and what am I giving toward it? I hope you do your reflection and prayer about this. Be blessed!
My favorite anime to watch is dragon ball, and many fan made stuff, and dragon ball heroes. Are there things I need to keep an eye on when I watch or think about dragon ball? Because the one video game I like is Dragon ball Xenoverse 2, what I like about is that you can create your own character, it can be a saiyan, like goku, a frost demon, like frieza, namekians, like piccolo, plus many people did that and it’s cool, but I still want to have my private prayer life and talk to god and having friendships with many Chirstian’s. I'm not sure exactly how, and when, but I went through a deliverance this recently and I had to be delivered from an evil spirit that came throughout Dragonball Z. As tough and as odd as it sounds, it's true. What I will say is that ofcourse I'm not at all on any position to infringe upon your freedoms as as a Christian, but as a brother in Christ I wanna shed some light on something that may change the way you look at anime, the more we seek God's face, the more the Holy Spirit reveals things to us and there's definitely much more to the spiritual realm with the demonic and how clever Satan is.
I'll put it this way my sibling. There's definitely spiritual components that drive some of these animes, and although not all of them have a demonic component to them, many of them certainly have a spiritual impact that opens us up to getting demon. I'm not the guy that points at everything and calls or a demon but my eyes were open big time during the deliverance. The Lord loves us so much, and He's there every step of the way, so please know that. At the same time, A lot of these things do open us to demons and torment. The Holy Spirit convicted me to stop watching a year ago for a reason beyond a surface level fact. It was not only an idol, but spiritually there was somethings that it was low-key emphasizing and also, a demon straight up entered me through that anime. Many animes in fact.
Again, it's not bad in itself, because it's art, but I'm telling you we fight against the rulers and demons and god of this world for real, and it's serious when the Holy Spirit personally shows us things in our life that not only we need to renounce and repent of, but also seek deliverance from.
Again, I would pray about all this, because the reason why I'm saying all this is because I literally from this man, and it had to get casted out of me amongst many things. I've been free spiritually since my deliverance. I have more self control than I did, my thinking is clearer, the Holy Spirit wants a relationship with us and to be conformed to Jesus. There is freedom, so no no I'm not trying to be legalistic, that's demonic too and I had to be delivered from that too, for we are under grace ofcourse. All I'm saying is that I got a demon from this and didn't think so a year ago in the former comments. I just wanted to make this known because I was ignorant of alot. It harmed me and that's why I'm saying something, unfortunately the devil pollutes more than we know and the spiritual warfare is real. And The Holy Spirit Himself man is trying to get us all to see what He sees, but please take it all to the Lord. I would just recommend spending time with Him more. I'm still trying to figure everything out, but there's so much more to everything. I wanted to let you know. God bless, I hope you consider my words.
@@RandyEscalanteGarcia Brother, these words were well said, thank you for sharing your experience and I really like these conversations I have with you and many others, sometimes my brother actually talked brother to brother, and he just said that it was god who told him to talk like that, now I have to you this but I have with the sin of lust because what I have learned from my temptations is that a man of god can be lost once he puts his purpose below a woman, so it’s important to always that the Holy Spirit guides and is there for us because he wants us to have a relationship with Jesus Christ and God, I actually wrote a prayer to God on how I can glorify him with my saiyan Cacs (Which means for character) and I got to tell you my friend, I have made hundreds of saiyans, some are good but some are not good but evil, so I hope that god helps me on to make the right Saiyans for him, and the inspiration for me creating dragon ball characters are from a video game called Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, thank you for the kind words, brother. @@Meriafilms This is a tricky one for me. I greatly admire the overall message at the end of the show, the pursuit of truth and the complexity of truth. Along the way there are some imagery that I do not personally like to see very much. This is why i enjoyed reading about it rather than watching it. I do know that watching certain demonic-like imagery does trigger something in me, given that I was raised in a 3rd world country where I have encountered the occult face to face in places where I was raised. The anime overall, for me, a great anime. Do I vibe with everything in between? No. That's just me.
Hello . Have you ever watched neon genesis evangelion? Its a si-fi type anime. How would you consider it or you opinion of the story/theme? Do you think it has any biblical relevance?
Yes I have seen it, the original anime and the end of evangelion movie. It definitely touches on some religious/faith themes. Most of those themes seem to be more affiliated with the jewish Kabala faith culture. I believe it is a masterpiece of a show that if viewed without the proper lens could lead many to nihilism and depression. The show really relishes on the brokenness of humanity and the focus that life itself is meaningless aside form instrumentality, the loss of self, freedom, and identity to be nothing more than an "instrument" to be used. It is a mindset I do not agree with and one which I believe is very opposite to the Biblical concept of the creation of humanity and its identity/purpose/and significance tied to God. I believe that the concept of instrumentality is Satan's method of work instead of God's. Great quesiton!
I also do not believe that NGE is a sci-fi anime. It is wrapped up as that but it is a plunge into Freudian psychology in anime form.

One Piece is a timeless Anime. It definitely leans on good life lessons. Luffy’s drive is unmatched in Anime. A great show in my opinion.

Thanks for the comment Luis! Allow me to address your frustration. The “do this, don’t do this” is not an approach that I take. My approach is to give proper principles to follow according to scripture and allow people to think through those principles and decide what their next step is. You would have been introduced to those principles if you had watched my first video on anime (vlog #7). You might be that person that if told directly not do to something will effortlessly follow through. The majority of teens are not like you and different approaches need to be implemented. I've watched it, and I think you would be better off without it. Agree with comment on demonic imagery, and I don't really see what kind of moral lesson you can learn from the show. The focus is really more on action and fight scenes. Naruto/Shippuden is a much better alternative in almost every way.
