Don't feel too bad. When my film photography goes wrong, I always think of how Robert Capa stormed Omaha Beach on D-Day armed only with a 35mm camera. He lived only to have is assistant accidently expose the rolls during development. Just six shots survived.
Oh wow … I didn’t know that and that breaks my heart.
@@BadFlashes Not only that, it was hurridly developed, hence why the shots look "blurry", perfection in an image means absolutely nothing, unless you're doing ansel adams style landscapes.
I'm pretty sure he fucked up and blamed the lab.

@@Adrian-wd4rn So yeah, I'd did some reading on this since my first post and there's *some* evidence Capa might have lied and only taken the few shots he showed (i.e. unfairly blamed the lab). Whatever the truth, still a heroic effort for photojournalism.
It was a ton of fun to meet and chat! Also, I thought about the heat and got sunburn from the memory. I'd say your awesome rave shot made up for the painful lost shots beforehand.

Being old is seeing the Eject at the end of your video and remembering a time when it it didn't display on the screen that it was ejecting.

Kinda the video I needed today: I just got the dreaded "Nothing turned out on this roll, dude" from The Darkroom. :( But hey, that's just the way it goes sometimes. I won't give up.
My teacher was showing me how to develop film and he forget to switch out the old chemicals. My whole roll came out blank. Im sending you my condolences

Ouch! I took my Mamiyaflex to York England for a friend to shoot with it and I mistakenly had the lens removal safety lock thingie unlocked which covers the taking lens with light-tight baffle so you can change its leaf shuttered lenses mid roll. That was sad wasting his Ilford roll.
shot 3 rolls of hp5 over the course of October and I went to develop them and all of them got ruined somehow. Sometimes you slip up and fail and just really sucks but sometimes its about the experience and fun of shooting that matters the most.

Can't wait to go to JTree myself someday. Also, I have a few rolls that I have been slacking on shooting because they're ecn2 films as well, impatient and darkroom lab makes it so easy but they don't dev that film so yeahhh. Also, what drone are you flying here? Oh and I like that shutter button topper, nice arrangement of colors. WOW, that shot is so sick. Like damn. Mad Max in black and white would be sick. I really need to go camping, which wont happen anytime soon with it being 40ish degrees out and only getting colder here in Missouri. I am enjoying this Black and White kick, as I told myself this winter, there is no reason to waste color film on the dead midwest. That 4x5 image is really interesting, the dof , wow. Pioneertown was interesting as I have no idea what it is. Have a good week my guy!

About 3 1/2 years back I had just bought my first film camera and since I was going to shoot the 1-year anniversary party of my brother and his wife on the vaunted D-word, I figured I'd bring it along to see how things turned out. We'll the film jammed and I had to tear it out of the camera and bin it. Film photography has basically been an uphill struggle not to waste more film since then. Still a fun struggle though.
Oh nooo that’s definitely a bummer! But I feel you on the uphill battle. I feel the same way sometimes as soon as you think you got everything down 100% something comes from the sidelines telling you …. Nope

Last time I went camping, my friends were kept awake all night by someone's music (there's always someone, even in the middle of nowhere). I slept in my van and didn't hear a thing. Bonus, they brought me coffee in bed in the morning cos they we're awake nice and early. So it worked out well for me, which is what matters, right?

Mistakes in film photography are a part of the fun! Unless you freeze your ass in the cold night for photos which end up being multiple exposures because you for some reason decide not to wind your film properly…. Ummmm, totally not speaking from experience… (I mean a couple photos came out alright…) Also is it a crime to admit I watch Jason’s videos first when you both upload??

The blm land south of the park looks way different, more rocky and vegetated. That coupled w the fact they "went into town" makes me think they were north if the park.
