Yes, please do a whole video on mesh tracking… I’ve watched three people do it and everybody does it completely differently and usually wrong. You sound like you really know what you’re talking about… What a breath of fresh air.

Great video! What I really love about DVR18 was that it really is super fast on my base MacBook Pro M1Pro! It really demolishes my Alienware 17 RTX3070ti even when unplugged! Add to the fact that I work with 8K ProRes and it really outperforms Premiere at any give task! I left Premiere Pro in 2019 after EVERY update crashes my system and never looked back. The mesh tracking was smooth in preview unlike my RTX laptop. Having said all that, I still use my RTX for my Blender and Unreal 5 work.

Can we replaced our face with another face during our movement in our video ?
Eh, I am not sure about that, because you would need a face that you can see from any angle, like a 3D model. In theory, it might work, but it may be hard to do.
Hey Dave, I haven't yet downloaded v18. That proxy app, Is there only long GOP available? Or can you add to that list? For me the h.264 or h.265 is what I am not wanting to use.
The cloud, I guess I will have to try that myself. I think most people are a little confused as to what is stored where. To my guess is that the project database is stored in cloud but media is in dropbox. The hardest part I have ever had for collaboration is getting or transferring media. If it an editor, proxies can be uploaded to a location and downloaded. But big projects I have had to mail/ courier a drive. Will be great if there was a central location cloud that you can upload original media. I don't know how this is being approached with the resolve cloud. So look forward to finding out in a tutorial.
Only long GOP for now. I don't know if there is plans to add DNxHD, but I know a lot of people are asking for it. And I think MACs have Prores. And yes, that's exactly it. Projects on cloud, media stored elsewhere, like Dropbox. Although Grant was talking about storage devices, but most of those seemed as if they were geared toward production studies. The "Cloud Pod" that he mention does look a little appealing though.
And yeah, I may do a separate tut about that myself, we shall see.

I don't see Magic Mask on DR 18 beta 2 (the free version) in the color page. Do you need to enable it somewhere? Or is this only for DR 18 Studio?
It is just for the Studio version. Apologies for not mentioning it. I am such a proponent of the idea of buying the software and using the studio version that I sometimes forget to mention it. I am surprised to hear that they don't have it included at all, even with a watermark though.

Thanks for the response. I am new to DR. I am trying out DR (free) at the moment to see if it's worth to pay the Studio version. I am pleased with its capabilities and features, and likely to purchase it when it is out of beta and ready for production.
Yeah, I went through a few DR videos where the authors didn't specified the new effects are for the Studio edition only in the YT title. And viewing your video one more time, I should have looked closely at the edition you're using -- the app title (upper top left corner). There it is -- DR Studio.
Can the new Depth Map be used as an alternative to rotoscoping, to cut a person out?

These effects are available in free version?
Not sure. Resolve hasn't come out with the documentation for it yet. If nothing else, you can play with them if you download the free version of the software, but it may have a watermark on it. I suspect these might be just for the studio version (at least things like the depth map)
Yeah sure, there are amazing new features (I have got the Studio version) - but the 'Depth Map' doesn't work at all, all I get is a black screen when applying this feature. Do you have any clue?
Nope. :) - Honestly, it's hard to say. It could have something to do with the graphics card, but remember, this is also beta so it make work on your computer during the next release.
I had to download NVIDIA studio driver 512.59 so do check that. I think these new features may be beyond my GTX1070 with 8GB of video memory
