On the last day of school at my school there’s this weird social media competition where on some app all the teachers have to get pictures and videos of students doing random things that are listed. Last year you had to have a human pyramid, the fishtank in the library, a reenactment of a lightsaber fight, etc. One of them was to get 25+ people to sing sweet Caroline at the top of their lungs, so this brings back some hilarious memories. Dode's, since you are in LA or wherevere, you are in Cali, I have a suggestion. You should go to Lake Balboa Park. It is a beaut, very prety an therapeutic, to me at least. It is good for things like thinking, writing, drawing, photography or relaxation. It is mostly calm with the usually laughing kids, runners, and ducks (did i forget to mention there are multiple families of ducks and geese). I highly reccomend it because when i go, it makes me personally realise, everything is alright, maybe not the happiest, but not the worst, and if it feels like the worst, it will get better. Or it shows me that the world can be beautiful and joyful. I see the kids running around seeing their innocence, old couples on benches seeing their dedication, lonely artists observing seeing how much creativity they have and beauty they can make. It is an astonishing place. Please visit it. Thank you
Tope Dach I used to go to Balboa Lake a lot when i was in middle school. It really is calming. The ducks and geese are a plus. But the blossom trees are so aesthetically pleasing as well. Man i miss it
Ok, so I know this video was released 2 years ago. But I have this playlist of songs and videos to calm me when I feel sad or overwhelmed and this along with other covers and songs by you are on it. Because they make me feel safe and warm inside. But this one in particular makes me feel good because me and my best friend sang out one version of this at school for a concert and for my gcse performance, so it reminds me of happy memories.

In my 8th grade year I had to take PSSAs (a state mandated test every 8th graded had to take). I had a very...interesting...teacher as my proctor named Mr. Ritz. He loved oldies music and this is one of the songs he would play for us in the mornings before we were forced to test for hours upon end. And so he was very strange, like I said, and he carried around a plastic baseball bat, like the ones for little kids. And he would bang it on tables to get people to pay attention, he’d never hit a person or anything though it was very much a joke and the school was fine with it. So on PSSA days, he would play this song, and on the “bum bum bum” he would hit the box of tests with his plastic bat. And he let students line up to do it too. He actually got in trouble for ruining the box which I thought was so funny. It was kind of terrifying but it really does stick with me.

my aunt died recently, and her name was caroline, and i remember when she retired from work the school sang her this song, and the day i found out her cancer was back i listened to it, then at her funeral it was played so this song has been a large source of peace and acceptance to me, and your rendition of it is absolutely gorgeous (as always with your covers) and is the sweetest version and therefore my favourite
