I've been waiting weeks to see this video since you announced this Rowan. The engineer's seat of that cab looks like the most natural place in the world for you. Truly in your element! After all your chases of 611 and now hearing her whistle and realizing that it was you pulling the cord this time was euphoric. And many thanks to those on the ground and "in the air" who made it possible to see and hear Rowan at the throttle of 611. Thank God for the gifts he bestows on us. Thanks for another great story in another well produced video. Terrific job Rowan!
Experience of a lifetime!!!! I agree. A few years back I had a whole day on the footplate of a locomotive at a nearby heritage railway, the best. Got to drive, shovel coal, couple and decouple carriages. Exhausting but great fun. So pleased you had a great time. Jeff - Somerset (England)
Very cool, that had to have been a “blast” for you. I am pleased you had this opportunity and we here enjoyed watching you sharing this memory. God bless you my friend! ☝🏼
Awesome Rowan! So glad you were able to get video of you driving. We were really bummed when you told us you were not allowed to film from the cab... but the drone shots made up for it. Props to your whole team for getting the shots and audio needed for this video. And, thanks so much for sharing time with us at the parking lot as well.
Great video of you having the time of your life being the engineer on Norfolk & Western #611. I am glad that you had the opportunity to do this Rowan. Thank you for taking us on this experience with you.
I was the engineer on the 12:10 run that day (the dummy in the camo pants who asked "do you have a UA-cam channel?"). It was a pleasure to meet you in person! And you're right: "experience of a lifetime" is an apt description!

Great to see you in the cab, at long last, Railfan Rowan. Superb video, with overhead shots of the Lancaster County countryside with sleek 611 strutting her stuff. Keep up the great work; your enthusiasm is infectious! (good infectious to be sure!)
@@RailfanRowan Turned out I purchased the throttle time, fire time and video. Cost me $1400 but i didn't care. 765 was one engine I just wanted to blow the whistle and when I found out you could drive her there was no stopping me. I was second ride lined up for the day at 9:30 am. So they let me climb aboard at 9 with the first driver because there was no fireman seat paid for. I sat behind the 765 fireman and talked to him for the first 30 min. Then drove her and fired so in all i was in the cab 1.5 hr. It was awesome. Because of where we were I didn't have to play by the whistle signal rules except starting , reversing and stopping. Kelly Lynch said, you paid your dues so play with that whistle as much as you want to. She is much louder and more of a shrill then 611. Sept 18, 2017 i drove her on the Cuyahoga Falls, OH short line. She was there for two weeks pulling their train.
Congratulations Rowan! I know the feeling. Had a similar experience a few years ago when it was in Ludlow Ky. Maintenance Yard at that time. Just being in the Cab was quite gratifying. Thanks for sharing Jeff
