I just bought this one. I think I’m going to use it mostly for movies, since the treble lends to hearing quiet dialogue. I think I prefer the new version of the Focal Utopia for music, but it’s nice to have some variety :)
Listening to the Utopia vs the HE1000se just proves there is no such thing as end game headphone. They both are top of their game and yet couldn’t be any different.
Makes first video 48 minutes long, says that's too long this one will be shorter, then makes 50 minute video 🤣🤣 You make them as long as you want pal, I'll keep watching them 😉
Yeah 100% well said. Even if it was 3 hrs long i would still watch it. Not that you need to do that, im just saying i would watch the whole thing. It’s enjoyable
You really get the intended sound when you wear it with a tight seal. Wearing it a bit loose like you suggested will elevate the mid bass and treble while wearing it tight gives you more linear and extended bass that stretches to the sub region
I had this headphone with the Hifiman EF400 and it make it sound fantastic. I am one of the weirdos that like to go portable, so I also used it with the Fiio BTR15 and this little dac/amp made it sound really good, almost like the EF400, a little less full, but still very enjoyable. I don't have the budget for a super high-end stack, so those were my options for amp and dac.
I got these headphones 2 -3 months back and the cables were the newer black ones. You must have got some "new old stock". I think at this point most people purchasing these will get the black cables. I like these headphones a lot. Toss-up for me if I like these or Meze Elite more - I own both and they get equal listening time!
You have the old version. The current one has black cables and some say that the headphones have been revised to make them sound less bright and more relaxed. Many have therefore only classified the SE in the old version as a C-tier.
Amazing headphone. Only weakness is dynamics i think. Best part is separation and detail. I hope you will be able to review Susvara and compare them to other Hifimans.
You'd like slightly more bass from the hekse? Try them from a Mjolnir 3! Possibly fed by a bifrost 2/64 or an Yggy. And besides the bass, you'd like to hear insane synergy that makes the sound of these headphones explode in quality? Try them from a Mjolnir 3!
I love this HP. AMAZING on Soloist amps, both OG & GT. A different kind of amazing on my Cayin HA300 mkii. Sounds like crap on Feliks Euforia EVO, an OTL amplifier.
I do not recommend the Feliks Audio Elise for any planar headphones. I've heard the Euforia is the same way. Although the Echo does a pretty decent job with easy to drive planars.
For me Will there must be tube amp and dynamic driver headphone to call it end game, only tube can bring up right timbre and natural tonality. Good to have nice set of planars for different taste as alternative
It is such a steal, especially because you do not need a high power amp. You can drive this with a O2 Dac/Amp, seriously, I did. So you save money on the amp AND on the high high end headphone. I am so happy about this. Hifiman rules. But is this a temporary Hifiman Sale or is this the new price?
I've heard other YT reviewers say the new hifiman prices are permanent. Rumour has it there could be a new TOTL model coming and perhaps a repositioning price wise at the top of the hifiman planar model tree
@@seandoherty925 Either way it's welcome, I was able to get a unit with slightly bent (cosmetic) grill on one side, barely noticable and only paid 1700 for what would have cost me 3500 earlier. There will always be "Better" and "Newer" headphones, but I'm happy with this. Good headphones are good headphones tho, there's not only one. I got 300 dollar headphones that are also great that I use on nostalgia minidisc setups and still enjoy them. If they're good they're good, you gotta learn your own preferences and not rely on other people's opinions as their music taste and what they like/listen to may differ substantially from you.
I know you have the Ifi Neo idsd 2 up for review. im wondering if that is enough for the HE1000SE? Have you tried them together? Im considering upgrading to these from my Arya Stealth. And I dont want to upgrade the Neo idsd 2, right now at least:)
If you are asking if the NEO iDSD 2 has enough power for the HE1000SE, the answer is more than enough. It actually has enough power to do a very respectable job with the Susvara. If you are asking if it sounds good with the HE1000SE the answer is also yes. Although not quite on the level of the 1000SE with the Pro iDSD Signature.
I See :) Thank you for fast reply! Well the Pro idsd signature its over 2000$ more so I would be surprised if otherwice. Glad they sound good. It will be HE1000SE or HE1000 Stealth for me with the neo idsd 2. I cant seem to deside yet. Hard without tryinig first.@@theheadphoneexperience-wil2250
@@theheadphoneexperience-wil2250 Thank you for respons! :) I see! Well it is over 2000$ more so I would be surprised otherwise. Its going to be HE1000SE or HE1000 stealth for me as an upgrade from the Arya Stealth. Used with the neo idsd2. Hard to pick one.
How did you make out? I've had many headphones, and Arya Stealth was my favorite so far. I'm considering HE1000SE because I enjoy high detail and a big sound. Arya Stealth made everything sound big to me. @MarcLie90
@@Rob-Davidson I though Arya Stealth was very closed, considering the stage. The He1000se on the other hand has a bigger stage, tiny bit more detail, finesse. And a more smooth listen. But I like the tuning of the Arya Stealth little bit more.
awesome review William! thank you for all you do!

Try it with some EQ

Nice review, thanks William.
Awesome review, thank you!
This headphone is great! Absolutely endgame! I enjoy every minute of it!

I tend to talk too much about things that I really like.

I've watched this video about 4 or 5 times. Now that I've finally ordered them and they're on the way to me, I'm going to watch it one last time. lol
Yes so do I specifically Hifi related🎧😁👍@@theheadphoneexperience-wil2250

I'm not sure what you mean by wearing it tight or loose?

The EF-400 does a really good job driving the HE1000SE in my opinion.

I still really like it.
Interesting, I find them not too overly bright at all. You can tell they are but top ends sounds more smooth & comfortable than even the Aryas
Amazing headphone. Only weakness is dynamics i think. Best part is separation and detail. I hope you will be able to review Susvara and compare them to other Hifimans.
Dynamic? 😀 It’s one of the fastest headphones in the world. Compare their magnets size.
Greetings William and thanks for the review ! Could you briefly compare them with the Kennerton Rognirs?
Did I forget to do that in my video?
@@theheadphoneexperience-wil2250 My bad. Watched the video yesterday and for some reason my mind kept half of the information. Keep up the good work!
It was a long video. @@wait0333

Hey check out Cuándo Te Voy A Decir by Fuensanta. Some of the most realistic recorded vocals and instruments I've heard

The ZMF Atrium and Feliks Audio Elise is also an end game system to me, with a different flavor.
