Dr Balamurali Sir is a musician par excellence. He once said, " Balamurali is music" which evoked lots of criticism, but I would say with conviction that Sir was 100% right. Sir was God of music. Thank you for uploading this concert. 🙏
its so resoundingly true! It takes a LOT of courage to speak truth when it's self applause (seemingly) which isn;t . its just a matter of fact. Lovely and blessed to have imbued his musical bites

Very good recording considering that it is 40 plus yrs old in tape format originally. Not a studio recording but an auditorium. Well preserved and digitally modified.
What a brilliant soul his mastery over the vachakam without compromising the continuity of rhythm while bus fidelity to raga was never compromised. Had the great privilege of listening to his concert in Detroit Michigan US. Note the voice resembles Madurai Mani Iyer possibly due to audio recording on 4 track spool tape?
Just monumental vocal record. We must thank you for ever for posting this to exemplify how a human being can rise to seemingly impossible heights in vocal singing. As I have listened to many great concerts of BMK, the speed and the voice in records like these are not original. It would be great if the originality of records is as they really are.

When Dr.BMK started ,he was compared to GNB as he too had a base voice,but DR. BMK is timeless god of Carnatic music.🎉❤

Nope. It's ML Vasantha Kumari who was awarded with Sangitha Kalanidhi on 01.01.1978. BMK was awarded then next year,i.e., on 01.01.1979
