One of the main highlights of the entire opera is the courtyard scene of Act 1; so much wondrous music was delivered in that scene with multiple characters.
Actually Wixell's voice was very large. I heard him in production's with Pavarotti and Domingo and many other tenors. He always dominated them. He had a unique sound which you may not like, but don't fool yourself he had a real big voice.
