Love to see these icons of different genres coming together on the love of music. The appreciation between each other's talents and 'rawness' of conversation is so powerful. I love these Hagar interviews.
I saw Rick Springfield in concert in Albany, GA. ‘Til Tuesday, who had the hit song Voices Carry at that time, opened for Rick. He sang songs from Working Class Dog, Success Hasn’t Spoiled Me Yet, Living in Oz, Hard To Hold and Tao. That was in Jul 1985 when I was home on Leave while serving in the US Navy. Rick is an awesome performer!! ❤️🤍💙
As soon as Rick stated, "I've never felt like I was enough", I said to myself, he has to be a Virgo and yes, he is. Unfortunately or fortunately, at this state in my life, I consider myself a recovering perfectionist. Keep going, Rick!
I saw Rick Springfield in concert last night, here in Greeley, Colorado. He looks Real good for His age. Plus He gives a Great show. He also said that Sam Hagar wrote the song " I've done everything for you ". 💯☺️
As a studio recording musician, this was entertaining & very uplifting at the right moment of time. Thanks Sammy for the positive AXS TV vibes. Let Rick know musical greetings from the forest. Cheers. 🎵🎶
This is So Cool I remember I had this Song on a 45 record on flip it over and Sitting at The Dock of The Bay From Sammy Hagar I awas and still am a Huge Red Rocker Fan after seeing the Texxas Jam 1979 The Red Rocker Great and I went to every concert of his I could find I remember Sammy playing this Song live and talking about Rick Springfield had covered this Song Sammy said Rick singing it made it more popular him being a Pretty Boy and Sammy would play his way my old Girlfriend Loved Rick Springfield and I took her to several concerts and Deep Purple had gotten back with Most Famous lineup and they were going to be in Dallas and in order for me to go to that I had to agree to taking her a week later back to Dallas to see Rick Springfield I had never seen that many Pretty Girls at a concert more than 80 percent Girls to Guys He played this Song!
Mr. Springthorpe!! And the Red Rocker!! Genuinely good and talented men both. Nice relaxed jam together. What's next... love Rick's answer...giving back. Thank you both for the great entertainment over the years. You both came out the other end with grace and style. Respect.
Update. Saw Rick with Richard Marx this past Friday in Grand Junction CO and was treated to a wonderful evening of entertainment and storytelling. Thanks for coming down off the stage and walking on the chairs the row in front of me...I shook Rick's hand. My inner teenager was ecstatic. So glad he's living his best life!
I love both these guys. Rick Springfield’s record came out with Sammy Hagar’s name as writer and I had to go find him and listen to him and it wasn’t easy cause we couldn’t just google it. 🤣 but since I knew when videos on the internet,I had to go watch both, cause that’s how I roll! 👊🏻
I had tao, hard to hold and living in oz on cassette ✨I unfortunately had to miss your concert at the Ozark empire fair July 27🥰my husband wasn't feeling well and it was too bloody hot 🥵 I joked and said, maybe he can be at my 50th bday party in February 🥳 I can't believe you are 74☺️my mom's 82nd bday was 5 days after yours 🎂I've heard she walks with angels and automatic 😍 you are very talented and always entertaining 🤓 I'm going to get your book late, late at night 😎much love from the middle of America ✌️💖🤩
Rick " I am always writing.." Well I am no Springfield or Hagar, haven't played in a band since 1990 but I am still trying to finish a song I wrote in HS back in 1980....
Yes Rick is aging very well and i always thought that this song had Sammy Hagar written all over it and i was right! This was a great show two icons in the same place at the same time!
Sammy 's echoing "Zero!, Zero!, Zero.!!..." at the end of the song is better than Rick's could ever be!!! But as someone said, Sammy is the ultimate businessman, he gets paid either way!!🤣
Met Rick after a show at a casino in the Upper Peninsula. Have you ever been to the UP or the northwoods of Wisconsin? Beautiful place but remote. My group of friends were given free tickets since we were going to be at the casino anyway, so we went. The audience was almost entirely past their prime women hooting and hollering like they still had functional vaginas, and the poor men they dragged with them. The show was fine even tho Rick's set included clips of him on TV 30 years ago as if to remind you that, yeah, he once mattered outside of a smoke filled casino in Upper Michigan. The reason I type this all out tho is because after the show he was at a casino bar talking with people. He was very dismissive, we thought, even though we were polite and waited. It's not like he's Paul McCartney. If it wasn't for "Jesse's girl" would we had even seen him that day? Probably not. You think he'd be more gracious for any attention these days.
just finished Ricks book-mostly about his sexual conquest-he was a sex addict-he had a lot of demons-drugs-booze-sex-typical rock star-not impressed with the book. Lat Late at Night/Title

I saw the same tour in Greenville, SC😊
Awesome!! It was a good concert. 👍👍
Its cool how both of these artist recorded this song 😂 both versions kick ass 😎👍
Sammy makes money from both
@@daveg4236Sammy 's version is better!!🤣
Live singing every word of the song together might blow the roof off!! Maybe. Just a thought.
As soon as Rick stated, "I've never felt like I was enough", I said to myself, he has to be a Virgo and yes, he is. Unfortunately or fortunately, at this state in my life, I consider myself a recovering perfectionist. Keep going, Rick!
That makes 3 of us.
Great show Sammy!!! Rick is a great guy and his music is ever lasting.

I have upmost respect for Mr. Springfield, a real hard-worker and creative genius. Love you too, Sammy!
Ya gotta love how well Rick is aging!
He looks old
Yes sir!! Sammy too!

So Much respect for these aging Rockers!!
Love the jam sessions. Rock and roll forever!

This was very very cool. Enjoyed these two guys…
Fantastic! I always liked Sammy (outside of VanHalen) and Rick was definitely on constant rotation for me as a kid!
Love that song!!! Love you two ❤❤❤❤
Such great guys Sammy and Rick ❤❤
Omg Sammy sounds mint in that range too! So powerful. Both of em
I love it when Sammy goes up there in the voice, classic. I wish I was there just to feel the energy in that room.
I used to work with a guy who got his autograph when he was a kid, spoke about him like they were best freinds, a sincere guy.
Oh gosh. I love Sammy (and Rick even more). That first take had me rolling and how fun is Sammy to be able to just laugh at himself. This made my day!
So nice, an acoustic version of this good song.
I've seen Hard to Hold, but i haven't seen Rikki and the Flash 🍿im going to have to watch it soon 💫 you are both so talented ✌️💖🤩

@RickSpringfield651 I'm from Utah and now living in monett, Missouri
Rick and the flash is a great film just finished watching it and discovered the hot guitarist 🥰
Rick still has excellent control. Thanks for keepin it alive Sammy.
Rick " I am always writing.."

All hail the 80's!!!
Great interview! 😊
Great Rick and Sammy is amazing.
I lot of , you are both great.
@RickSpringfield651 Very grateful for your words.
I love it all the songs.
Thanks
So enjoyable to observe them. Legends!
Love Rick and sammy!!great song!!
Very few will ever attain Rick and Sammy's level of badassery.
Sammy still has the average joe type personality like if you ran into him he would be a regular guy
Yes Rick is aging very well and i always thought that this song had Sammy Hagar written all over it and i was right! This was a great show two icons in the same place at the same time!
awesome. Great interview, great song.
Sammy 's echoing "Zero!, Zero!, Zero.!!..." at the end of the song is better than Rick's could ever be!!!

Two of the most handsome men evaaaaaaa!!!! Just love em both!!😋❤️🥰
Wow! Sammy Hagar looks amazing! 75 at the time of this recording. So nice to age gracefully.
Rick is amazing!!
Love it guys ♥️😊
Start over, Sammy! That is hillarious.
I miss Rock and Roll Road Trip. I think I saw every episode but one (because I didn't give a hoot about the "guest"). Sammy is the man.
That was great!
Keep doing it for the animals Rick. Give them a voice ♥️
Love this so much ❤. Icons
How Awesome Is This 🔥🔥🔥
WAAAAAAY overdue!
He’s so hot… I just discovered him recently and I’m like “man how did I not know this guy growing up” I’m a rock music fan through and through!
I thought that was Justin Hawkins in the thumbnail
Rick Springfield is so underrated.
Stop. He's very well known and 40 years in the biz. Don't be dumb
@@daveg4236 don't be a dick. I never said I underrated him I just don't think he has gotten the credit that he should get.
Rick is underated .. respect .. Rick didn't you are 73 yrs old ..
Wow! Are you sure? Damn!
❤❤❤
awesome!
Wow! I did not know Sammy wrote this one. Would have been a great VH song too I think. Rick's version is already great though.
Thanks.
73歳とは思えない色気。見習いたいわ。
Rick......its been a long way from Zoot.
Sammy always give Rick crap for having a bigger hit than he did with his song.
Sammy's version is WAY better. Sounds much more masculine and tough! 😍
What's not to love about these two together?
These guys still know how to cook!
❤
Steel Magnolia in the corner behind Sammy
Very interesting
@richardlewisspringthorpe2963 Wisconsin
@richardlewisspringthorpe2963 not at all as a fan
@richardlewisspringthorpe2963 which one?
Hagar goes oink oink 😅
Cool guys…
🎉
Sammy wrote it but Springfield made it a slight hit.
Time fôr a napp young man
Greatest musician ever!
@RickSpringfield-ym1bd Kissimmee, Florida USA!
Rick my bae. 😘💖
I love RS. This collab with Hagar stunk. It would have been cool if Sammy had actually supported RS with a real harmony.
I've heard this song was originally offered to Pat Benatar but she thought it was too macho for her to sing.
Im 19 and have more wrinkles..😂
Maybe Dolly Parton brought rock back to life? 🤞
How old is this episode? That is not a 74 year old man. And I thought Sammy looked good for his age.
It aired on AXS-TV in May 2019. So Sammy was 71 and Rick was 59. Sammy just turned 76 on October 13, 2023. 😲🤯
Boston recorded in Tom Sholz house, the record label didn't want that, but Tom told them to F off, and thats where they did it
Two hot tamales!

Who told Sammy Haggar he can sing?
The world?
But really? Why is he acting like he's even close to being in Sammy's league? Come on ¿?
Springfield can't play.....lame.
well what have u done that compares to Mr Springfield ?! Plz post you and ur band playing live...I'll wait.
@@anz2441 agreed. Btw: real musicians do not speak I'll of each other's creative work
Love you dudes and the song but this fell a little short of the glory. Pretty sure it was the slide choice.
Sammy is very condescending. Always. Everything he does.
