A summer of blasting out "it's coming home", quickly followed by disappointment and heartbreak. Can't beat it.
That's why comedians wrote that song, it's the perfect song to describe how you feel, but its humour comes in when you get knocked out on pens to Portugal in quarters lol
We will be there 😂
@@mcnair435 still get a lot further then rubbish scotland
@@mcnair435you’ve never made it out of the group stages in any major competition though?
I think we’re due a controversial defeat in the semi’s / quarters. Maybe a player harshly sent off and a wrongly disallowed goal. Early 00s let’s run it back. Can’t beat it.
I have no problems with his England squad at all honestly
Why maguire tho?
He should bring in some proper left backs in all honesty, we are going to have massive problems with width there.
@@tekkn_579 Maguire has been superb this season and England has a shortage of good defenders
Hard agree, I think this is arguably Southgate’s best ever selection on paper at least
@@alexanderthornton8622 i agree but who do we have outside of Shaw and Chilwell? We can't take any players who have no England experience so our choices at lb are limited
England are the team that these days is "reeeally close". But there always seem to be another team that stops them. Hope this time you prove to be THE team that others have to stop.
France are better and our defence really has holes. We get the the semis and lose to France
@@alfiegaishauser4989 Yes
Farley's impersonation looks very realistic in this interview
Couldn't stop thinking of it lol
If you ever have trouble sleeping, just listen to gareth southgate
He gives me insomnia. 😂
As a Man City fan, even I'm surprised by inclusion of Jack Grealish who has just 3 goals and 3 assists all season over Marcus Rashford who has 8 goals and 5 assists all season. I watch Grealish every match day you could argue his impact is beyond goals and assists, but that was while ago against Crystal Palace on 6th of April. I don't watch Rashford often except in derby which he scored. Just compared the stats for both players. Grealish has better pass completion percentage. Thats it.
Edit : Opinion completely personal. Other Man City fans may not share the same opinion.
Rashford has played way more miniutes tho so by contrast it;s not that hard to udnerstand.
Grealish is more dangerous and doesn't lose the ball.
I rather have grealish, he brings other players into play and creates space, rashford just runs
It’s coming home 🏴
Not enough LB cover
Man has Phil Foden and won’t use him correctly
foden is crap for england
@@tm_yt496 I agree foden is a systems player and works in a city set up, GS doesn’t tactically set up England the same way
England to coast through group stage (as always) with QF knockout
Why does he get so much criticism? he has taken a team nowhere near as good as the golden generation to levels they never went to, we have a good team now but the defence is shocking.
Don't agree about the defence. Stones ghuei walker are all quality
@@andrewjoyce9038 oh come on compared to Cole Terry Ferdinand and neville you had people like Campbell Woodgate as back up
@@JoeStocker yes those would get into the England side but stones is as good as them walker is easily
@@andrewjoyce9038 walker I agree is as good as any of them I think stones is good but not getting in ahead of Terry Ferdinand or Campbell.
@@JoeStocker he'd defend get in aha of campbell as campbell wasn't great on the ball
Where is Sancho? Or has he changed his nationality? The main player for Dortmund in their Champions League final.
Bellingham and Sancho together would be very interesting. Without him England won't qualify from the group.
Too much dead wood in that squad.
sanch has been crap
Why england never picked a manager suitable for the job its beyond me.
Crossing my fingers he goes to Man Utd after the Euros.
Liverpool fan.
Never mentioned the ward england at all
Pointless waffle. The fact is, England have the highest scoring winger in premier league history if you exclude penalties, the second highest scorer for England of the players today, the highest assist provider, the player who almost single handedly dragged England to their first final in over half a century, the most reliable England player in high stake competition games, and so clearly most dangerous attacker in English football today not in the squad let alone the team. The idea any team can succeed to win a competition without a player that can deliver so much reliably to their game and be so influential to a teams success whether the rest of the team do not perform so well or not is called wishful thinking. We've seen Southgate take risks in finals and failed at every turn. He is unable to make constructive risks and is strongest when he uses common sense. Common sense would tell you Jude Belligham has excelled partnering Vinicias Junior at Real Madrid winning the Spanish League and in the final of the Champions League which should be amazing for England as England have a similar player to Vinicias Junior in the name of Raheem Sterling in the England team meaning they can understand each other very quickly and form an equally powerful partnership for the England attack. This is common sense. But what does he do? He takes Sterling out of the team depriving England of that obvious lethal attacking partnership. Common sense would tell you that with England getting to a final with Sterling as the driving force giving defenders nightmares on one wing and Saka still developing on the other, when Saka finally develops as he has today and so much better than that final and able to give defenders nightmares like Sterling, England with these two wingers would be giving defenders sleepless nights on both wings and be even more lethal than when getting to that final, so you play them both again now as a bigger threat than before. This again is common sense. But no, Southgate has decided to not play Sterling and play a lesser threat that has achieved nothing, but some good games for an average club for one season and has no experience of high stakes competition, or an alternative that has played for England, but achieved nothing special when playing for England and is not even the first choice for his club team. It's astonishing stuff. As for Palmer, a player that has scored an average number of goals in open play scoring 10 penalties he will not take for England to push up his stats, but more importantly failed to make the Man City team and was then sold, because although he was known by Man City to score goals is too much of a defensive liability to have in a team that wants to win things or be a top team, why in the world would a manager with any sense ignore these facts and like a novice want to consider putting him in his team just because pundits, commentators and the media choose to ignore the obvious facts and claim the manager who sold him has made a mistake despite the fact this manager is winning everything under the sun. Palmer does not understand defense, does not participate in defensive responsibilities, does not know how to balance defensive and offensive responsibilities and has no interest in understanding or participating in defensive responsibilities at a time in football when all 11 players have offensive responsibilities and all 11 players have defensive responsibilities and the team least efficient at utilising all 11 players for these offensive and defensive objectives loses. That is modern football and what is understood by all the top teams in league and international football as necessary to win competitions or leagues. But Southgate obviously thinks he is the exception and wishful thinking will get him over the line. Without Raheem Sterling in the team, I predict England will be knocked out of the competition in the Quarter finals at these Euros as we saw proved when Sterling did not play in the last World Cup, mark my words, so I won't even bother watching the games managed by stupidity that makes no sense forced on the manager by pressure from the media. Wishful thinking gets you nowhere. Peace and love
Sterling can't even stand in Vini's shadow. He had speed but decision making and finishing left wanting. That's one player I'm happy to leave home
Yeah sterling really isn’t at the level these days, definitely the right decision
@@Dazzerthegooner666 That's what they said before the last Euros and then he almost singlehandedly dragged us to our first final in over half a century while the rest of the so called best performing players they said should be on the team sheet did very little to get us there as they always do and will do again, especially as Sterling will not be there to spark things up and give them time to get into things, single handedly taking care of things as only he can do when the others struggle. This time every time the players fail to perform and deliver their best, the teams progress will be punished with nobody able to make something out of nothing on their own at the highest level as only Sterling has the quality and capability to do. Every great team and almost every team that has won an international competition needs a player like that who even when seemingly not at his best can do this for their team in a moment in their will to win and has done it so often before at the highest level and for England that player is Raheem Sterling, but he has been left out. This kind of player is very special and only one appears for each team great team if you are lucky. We thought Rooney was it, but he wasn't. We thought Gascoigne was it, but he wasn't. Sterling proved he was it. It's prized stupidity to try to win without him and like shooting yourself in both foot. Peace and love
FINALLY!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Someone who gets it! Sterling is so unfairly criticised it’s unreal. His output statistically is second to none, and he’s direct with the ball. That obviously means he makes more mistakes, so people criticise him - but that’s because he takes more risks! Mathematically he’s bound to make more errors but he also scores and creates chances from nothing, the way he can open teams up. I miss him.
@@nottaproblemuk9485 I miss him too and everything you say is true. Nothing exciting about an England game without him. They're all so predictable and faced with a team with a player like him who can, not only take risks, but make things happen doing it, that player will always help their team get over the line even if the teams for much of the game seem to cancel each other out. Then we praise their player, but when we have the same kind of player that can do the same for us, our media treats him with disrespect, works to brainwash the fans into treating him disrespect until his team mates and the manager start treating him with disrespect, and then they throw him out of the team forgetting everything he can do and has done for us which none of the other players have ever been able to do in this team or previous teams in over 50 years proving it is not easy. They think after the past 2 tournaments these players are going to suddenly be able to do what Sterling has which is so difficult and they have always failed to deliver. It's prized stupidity and wishful thinking. They can dream on. We'll need a new manager for England who is not influenced by the media to get Sterling back into the team and get over the line to winning a competition. Amazing player. The only England player that always gets us on the edge of our seats when he gets the ball in the opposition half and so equally makes the opposition team defense go into full panic mode which was so beneficial for England both offensively and defensively. Peace and love
the previous heart break the country have taken will be topped this summer because of the talent we have this time round. so sad
It’s coming home in the pubs plastic cups only few weeks away
Hi
But you keep Harry Maguire, oooof!
harry Maguire been good and never puts a foot wrong for england
For all the Southgate haters, who else would you have as England manager that would realistically take the job ??
Let's not play defensive Gareth
Great work picking the squad, now stop talking about it and win a trophy. No trophy since 1966, anything outside of winning is a failure mate, no matter who you choose in the squad.
How are these favourites to win boggles my mind
Absolutely. 16/1 at best. Goalie and most of the backs a disaster. Manager has never convinced either but he's 'media-friendly' like David Moyes.
France should be favourites with Germany very dangerous. A lively outsider might be Serbia.
Jude Bellingham has been clutch this season. Harry Kane is one of the best strikers in the world. Bukayo Saka is one of the best wingers in the world. Declan Rice is one of the best defensive mids in the world. Kyle Walker is very solid at right back. Foden has been flying for City. So much depth

Gareth Southgoat 🤣
When are you going to hand in your resignation?
Why you hating on him? Think you could do a better job?
We have the best player in Germany (Kane), England (Foden) and Spain (Bellingham).

Neither of them should be here
Trashford? The same kid who refuses to track back or even man mark properly in his own box 😂😂 give over
Everybody talks about his enabling a good " atmosphere " in the camp ....but getting across the line in sport aka winning haha ... is more than that touchy feely stuff ...he doesnt seem to have that in the real business of the game ...eg mananging games during games with that fierce ( foreign ) managers desire to win ... domestic fans drag football down here too with rants of " put a shift in mate " ... no time on the ball tolerated by neanderthals here so no quality and technical margins and so recently all mens and women teams crushed out of europe , the only real test of footballing quality, sorry...
Solanke, Elliott and Mitchell been robbed in that provisional squad
Tbh I forgot Mitchell even existed nobody says a word about him
Absolutely abysmal manager!! About as much use as a silencer on a fog horn. 🙄
