Back then ARVs had not rolled out but my mother took care of him making him accountable in teaming the home remedies like gargling with cayenne pepper for mouth ulcers- which really healed him. Unfortunately when he got better he would remember his old life and go back to his partner and come back again looking like the first time he came to us. He was the best uncle too between his meningitis he inspired me to travel and see the world. I live abroad now.

This really didn't change until fairly recently. In 2009 I found out my sister had HIV and I got so light headed I almost collapsed on the floor.
