But it's HER content now first off. Secondly she can do whatever she wants, when the idea for an 'out there' video comes up. She has endless possibilities depending on how things go that she wouldn't have had with Buzzfeed

The reasons for leaving are generally quite similar; these people want actual recognition for their work, and creative control over their content. makes sense to me!
Emma Arp To me it doesn't seem like they are evil just a company that hires young creative people, who start there for the experience but quickly grow out of it and want control and freedom over what they make. It just feels like it has happened more frequently over the last few months bc they have grown and are pushing employees a bit harder for views maybe

Glitter Slime all buzzfeed is going to do is put more restrictions, gag orders and dibs on intellectual property in their contracts.
I imagine they're also bringing in new talent as well. Turnover can actually be a good thing. It means the industry is healthy and there's a ton of competition.
Buzzfeed is a corporation. They are what they are. I think employee satisfaction would be pretty great, it's a good place to work for, you get a lot of perks. The content is mostly great too and they care about issues like diversity, I don't see many "big" companies do that even though it's 2017. They help creative people get jobs and before UA-cam there wasn't much of that. I think people just leave because they want to go in a different direction after a few years at Buzzfeed.

Gonna be honest you moving around and having a bunch of different stuff going on is BRILLIANT. I clicked on this expecting it to be another "oh let me just talk in front of the camera in a stationary position" kinda things but you really made this "vlog" your own and showed your personality in it as well. I love how in the past everyone wanted to work for BuzzFeed and now since everyone is leaving, we recognize working for BuzzFeed is a shitty job.
Joselyn actually they all wanted recognition for their work , which is understandable. they all started with no experience and their work was basic .
Yes, that fact that it seems to be happening all at once is very telling. Companies with happy employees don't suddenly start hemorrhaging staff for no reason.
Buzzfeed owned all the rights to their videos, which is understandable-- they're a business that needs to make money. But its not like they're making high quality content that can't easily be mimicked or reproduced. These people were basically making the same videos every other UA-camr makes except they didn't own the rights to their content and probably weren't being paid as much. Look at Safiya for example, the content on her channel is like Zoella 2.0, it's not ground-breaking or original, but she's probably able to make whatever she wants, whenever she wants, and however she wants.

I suppose, but rather this is the most creative intro to a youtube channel; going from the trendy "jump-cut" vlog style, to a one take "copacabana" style in one shot, which is not the norm for videos. Takes a lot of effort to pull it off
