Great tongue in cheek humour. Serious guitar style. Amazing he sounds like two Country stars playing & singing at the same time. A true Western original. Junior Brown.
I liked that Junior was trying like hell to keep Country "traditional" without letting his music sound too "stale" Atta boy Junior! Love it! Also, he didn't try to put a freakin belly ring or a whiney pretty boy on country either. Gotta appreciate that.
i met him a few months ago and he couldn't have been more awesome great show waited after to meet with everyone and take pictures and sign (some people were handing him stacks of cds) both he and his drummer i wish i could remember his name were class acts great people great band
Jr is flat out cool meat him once, in Ann Arbor Mi. Seemed like a real decent guy spent a decent amount of time talking. He was good enough to accept one of my CDs Is Jr still with us? Would be grand to catch him again. Heck of showman to be sure. Mr Brown has mega skills !!😎💥🔥👍👏
@chub4play Saw him at the Contiental Club in Austin a couple of months ago and was blown away both with JR and the venue. I thought I had stepped back in time. Afterwards, I saw him backstage, shook his hand and told him how much I had enjoyed the show. Later, I saw him telling his band members that "We blew them away". He was as excited as if it had been his first show! Amazing!
I worked highway patrol from 1986 to 1998 in California. Just me, my 1990 Ford Mustang 5.0 - Special Service Package and the open road, best job you could ever have!
His leads show a great sense of humor - imitating a conversation between a motorist and a highway trooper. The first is the motorist cackling away trying to get out of a ticket, and then the trooper speaks in a low voice so authoritative that he has to de-tune the E string to make his point! Pure genius.
Junior is AWESOME, have been a LONGTIME fan, I love this song, my FAV one by him... my son is a Cop and he walked in on my rockin' out to this one day, laughed his *#% off too, but He liked it as well, LOL... Junior is fun to watch, his band too... would love them to come to Delaware and do a show...
To kix96, thank u for changing the subject, even if it was inadvertently. All you going back & forth over this joe guy, IT'S A SONG. A song meant to be tounge 'n' cheek. Drink a beer n pipe down.
That is Junior's "guit-steel". He was looking for a way to do live what in the studio was easy, switching from electric to slide. He said that in a dream, he saw an electric and steel melt together and then went to somebody and designed the first guit-steel.
I just envisioned some insistent IATSE union workers covering the backline and doing the whole thing..."Yeah, it takes three guys to take down this snare drum!" "Got a problem with that?!!!" lol
I did come here to watch & listen to Junior & his band, & to learn more about him. However, in so doing, that is reading the back & forth comments I gotta tell you omega that in 41 years of driving I only got one speeding ticket and of course I was a little mad and upset about it. However, I sure didn't blame the policeman because I was the one breaking the law. Just let it go omega, others will usually want to blame you just because your protecting us from "bat-outta-hell" speeders. Thank YOU!
I guess the woman playing guitar with that broken string is there for show because even during the solo section, I can't hear a single sound coming from her.
Went to my dads house in 1998 and he had a junior brown cassette tape. I grabbed it and he never got it back. Junior browns the Man.
Great tongue in cheek humour. Serious guitar style. Amazing he sounds like two Country stars playing & singing at the same time. A true Western original. Junior Brown.
He did NOT just tune his E string down a whole step in the middle of a live solo. What a boss.
Check Michael Manring and Jon Gomm. They do that stuff all the time
I think it was a whole octave!
That was a whole octave!
Oh yes he did 🤠
Ridiculously great
damn this dude is like the best country guitarist I have ever heard
I liked that Junior was trying like hell to keep Country "traditional" without letting his music sound too "stale" Atta boy Junior! Love it! Also, he didn't try to put a freakin belly ring or a whiney pretty boy on country either. Gotta appreciate that.
You got it cowboy
The man is phenomenal. Sadly the country music establishment has never wanted anything to do with him. I wish I knew why.
+ronleon62 Not sure if this is the reason or not, but I've heard hes an asshole in person.
i met him a few months ago and he couldn't have been more awesome great show waited after to meet with everyone and take pictures and sign (some people were handing him stacks of cds) both he and his drummer i wish i could remember his name were class acts great people great band
not the same drummer in video he was a younger guy awesome dude
Because he's too damn good! Saw him on Connan O'Brian like 20 years ago. I knew he was the man back then!!
Because real country is dead, the music biz wants canadiens with fake southern accents who sing pop songs
The guy is just plain awesome ,and as stated by many under- appreciated .
One of the true greats, Junior Brown. ''Freedom Machine''
Love how he raises and lowers that E string!
Jr.Brown is great ! I love the picking style , similiar to Roy Clark style picking.
I’ve seen him twice. Very professional and puts on a great show.
Jr is flat out cool meat him once,
in Ann Arbor Mi.
Seemed like a real decent guy spent a decent amount of time talking. He was good enough to accept one of my CDs
Is Jr still with us?
Would be grand to catch him again. Heck of showman to be sure. Mr Brown has mega skills !!😎💥🔥👍👏
I NEVER HEARD OF JUNIOR BROWN OR HEARD THE SONG HIGHWAY PATROL UNTIL SOMEONE WE KNOW MENTIONED IT.
Are you kidding me??? JB is the MAN!!!!!
That lady back there done broke a string. She was strummin' the hell outta that guitar. Lol.
nah, it's a string that's tied to her pick, it's moving way to fast to be a broken string if u look at more recent videos, it's the same thing
joelostrom86 yep, playes the hell outta that guitar
joelostrom86 That's cool. I don't know if I could be in a band with my old lady. Haha.

The MICHAELANGELO OF COUNTRY MUSIC !!!
I worked highway patrol from 1986 to 1998 in California. Just me, my 1990 Ford Mustang 5.0 - Special Service Package and the open road, best job you could ever have!
Damn he is a hot player! Love his clean sound!
This song makes me think of my old friend Officer Joe Ismael, Minnesota State Highway Patrol, retired.
His leads show a great sense of humor - imitating a conversation between a motorist and a highway trooper. The first is the motorist cackling away trying to get out of a ticket, and then the trooper speaks in a low voice so authoritative that he has to de-tune the E string to make his point! Pure genius.
Don't know nothin about him, but he's a real good player and writes good songs..should be better known.

Good man and good song!
I saw him open for Jimmie Vaughan a few years ago at House of Blues. JB OWNED that show!
When you can play like that - you can look like Barney Fife with Perry Mason's body and still be the coolest guy in the roadhouse!
To kix96, thank u for changing the subject, even if it was inadvertently. All you going back & forth over this joe guy, IT'S A SONG. A song meant to be tounge 'n' cheek. Drink a beer n pipe down.
THANKS FOR POSTING THIS!!!1 ive been searching for 3 years for this video

Haha look at the drummer .. Pretty smooth :)
Junior's the best. The fact that he's not a big C&W and Taylor Swift is proves that life is not fair.

Junior Brown's rhythm guitarist: also his wife.
Junior is the man, not much else to be said.
Во делают супер гитарист вообще силище
That is Junior's "guit-steel". He was looking for a way to do live what in the studio was easy, switching from electric to slide. He said that in a dream, he saw an electric and steel melt together and then went to somebody and designed the first guit-steel.

I'm gonna play this when the officer is at my car window, if I get pulled over.
@wspalways I think it is her pick, tied to a string tied to the guitar. Thats what it looks like to me if you look really close

Here we have the Edward Van Halen of Rockabilly!
I did come here to watch & listen to Junior & his band, & to learn more about him. Maybe terrorists trying to mess with our heads haha!
Junior is awesome. George W Bush could be a stuntman for the drummer at 1:14.
haha nice solo
That`s a pretty advanced drum-kit.
see what i mean . him when you can
Looks like Mrs. Brown broke her G string!
@HITHEREFOLKS uhh hank sr
I guess the woman playing guitar with that broken string is there for show because even during the solo section, I can't hear a single sound coming from her.
I know exactly who she is. What does that have to do with no sound coming from her instrument?
Its custom made
Nothin better
