My wife and I made our first pilgrimage to Big Bend in September 2017 and fell in love with the park and surrounding area. It felt good to be at such a remote place. We'll be back.
I love Big Bend (both parks). I celebrate it's isolation and the difficulty it takes to get there. Indeed, other parks like Yosemite, Yellowstone are on the face more stunning, however BB's beauty is more subtle and seductive, there is a magical vibe to this place that few other parks enjoy. Unlike many other NPs, there is little sign of civilization, almost no commercial ventures on the park's periphery outside the small towns of Terlingua, Lajitas, ect....Big Bend is a must for those who really want to get away from it all.
I have been to the Big Bend National Park seven times and yet to see all the interesting and beautiful scenery . This was a great video but the vastness of your surroundings can not be captured by cameras. Being there humbles you and brings you in awe of God"s creation. I recognized many of these locations which brought back the desire to see it again. Well done and God bless. Dayne Johnston, Jasper, Texas
In January 1972 I went to Big Bend for a month with a college group to study geology and botany. Fell in love with geology, went on to get a grad degree in the science and just retired after a great career in the science. Might be a message in that for parents.. take your kids to where they can be inspired by the nature and science. Going back to BBNP in a few days to ride motorcycles for a few days.. a great mid winter get away and .. who says there's "no going home again." Each time I return, I feel I've come home to the place my career and adult life began.... Lets hope it remains so relatively "undiscovered" by the masses!
Richard Mourdock Have you heard that Trans-Pecos Pipeline is coming to the Big Bend area? Ourcommunity is very small here. We are very concerned and want to voice our fears. Just thought you should be aware since you may plan a revisit. Please it is easy to click to help @ wh.gov/iZEoMwww.notinourbigbend.com
GREATTTTT choice of music. My friends and I road tripped cross country last year and Sigur Ros and The Album Leaf completely reflected the scenic beauty and deep feeling of seeing the great wilderness. We're hitting Big Bend this summer. I'm super pumped.
I watch your video so often....because my heart is telling me that I need to go back to the Big Bend....and this takes me there......absolutely gorgeous....
Thank you for this beautiful video. You have captured the essence of the place. I first came to Big Bend NP in 1966 when I was 14, brought by my grandparents. I have been back 50+ times. It is my favorite place on Earth - I love it so. I know people who have been there more times than I, and they love it too. God preserve Big Bend from development; let it always be one of the least visited parks - it is all the more valued and loved by those lucky enough to venture there. Thanks again X 1000!!! :-)
Remarkable place. My favorite thing in the world to do is kayak the Rio Grande and camp on the river bank. It is truly spectacular. Living in West Texas has it's perks for sure.

You captured the essence of Big Bend -- vast, desolate, beautiful panoramas, a living desert. It is my favorite place in Texas. One night at the Rio Grande Village Campground, I was kept awake until about 2 am by music from a wedding party in Boquillas del Carmen, the small Mexican village just across the Rio Grande. Thanks for the great video.
Very moving! I myself just came back from Big Bend not too long ago, and can personally attest to the serene beauty of this place. Very nice to see it presented in a way that lets the viewer taste the essence of this place. Very well done!
You nailed it! The only thing missing is the scent of the desert. Been a part of the Big Bend since 1985, and I must say you have captured and shared the essence of this very spiritual place. Thanks so much!
I was there in August in 2010. Your video is amazing. I guess you went at a good time. You saw a lot of wildlife for a short visit. So green. It was probably 100 degrees when we were there and very dry, but still so beautiful. I want to go back.
Thanks for the great video that you posted on youtube. Brings back lots of memories that I had back in 2007 and 2009. By the way, I plan on going this year in 2012. I will make my video of Big Bend National Park and post it on youtube. Thanks for making my day good.
@kelybal I watch your video so often....because my heart is telling me that I need to go back to the Big Bend....and this takes me there......absolutely gorgeous....
In 1967 we made a family trip to the park. My father, being an amature geologist and rockhound, was always stopping to look at formations and layers of rock. He always "had a hunch" about what could be over there. Before leaving to head home he ""had a hunch" and went to go look. Many minutes later he came back telling my mom to bring the camera and the kids 'cause he finally found one. The one he found was a REAL LIFE DINOSAUR. No kidding....I got the pics. He was so excited that he exposed about a foot of bone before realizing he was breaking the law. Illegal to dig in a National Park. He left his name , address and phone# along with directions to where this could be found at the rangers station. Never heard a word from them. Strange thing is....a couple years later some guy from UT finds a dinosaur and gets famous. Even stranger, the pics he took of when it was found are very similar to the pics I have of my fathers find. Anyway I do have fond memories of that part of Texas. Spent many vacations at Terlingua Ranch too. Folks bought land there....now one of my brothers and I own it. Hope to get back soon.
We are leaving on March 3, 2107, driving from South Alabama to Big Bend. Saw this beautiful place on a NatGeo program a few months ago and began planning our trip. So excited to make this journey. Thank you for the stunning photography.
We just returned after 9 beautiful days in Big Bend and West Texas. Stunning views, one of GOD's most amazing creations. Made it to top of Emory Peak, trekked Santa Elena Canyon, ate real food in Boquillas, etc. Emory Peak round trip did take about 6.5 hours. So much to do, hiking, eating, photos, met so many beautiful people. If you need a really neat, comfortable place to stay, check out AirBNB, Mining Ruins--Lofthouse, Terlinqua. Betty is a gracious hostess, had wonderful 3 nights of R & R...even slept outside with sounds of coyotes, birds, and what other night creatures. Didn't get to see Star Gazing show at MacDonald Observatory, Ft. Davis, due to heavy clouds. Very interesting place. Very memorable trip.
I want all these parks expanded!..I saw a map one day and tried to find Yellowstone park and I noticed a tiny thing smaller than a postage stamp! That is the "famous" Yellowstone. Cow pasture held in reserve and you all know it!
You did an very excellent job with the film and video. There were pretty good clips of the parkand some awesome pictures. That is one hell of a park right there. I don't know why it's the least visitedbut I think in my opinion that there should be better tourist but that's just my opinion. I really love the wildlife and thedesert plants that fits in the park. Videos like this brings peace in mind and takes away all worries. And the music fits just fine. Overall if I were to give it a grade, I will give an A+
Few people go there because in the summer it is +100 degrees day after day. Most tourist arrive October thru March. At one point the NPS didn't even staff the park during the summer. Don't know if that is still the case. You have to WANT to get there because it is about 300 miles SE of El Paso. A long way from anyway
Thanks so much Xezmer! At the 4:00 mark I was simply in my friends SUV with the camera out the window. BTW, what does that last part mean, I don't get it.
First let me say I am always looking for slideshows and videos about Big bend and this is by far one of the best I've come across!. Unfortunately I have to say that is about the worst music I've ever heard put to a piece on Big Bend. I never thought I'd care for the place being a desert, but after going there once there is something that keeps drawing me back, like the spirits of the place have a claim on your soul. Maybe it's the isolation, or it's sort of a Man thing. being there gives one the feeling of being in an old Clint Eastwood western. For that reason I suggest watching this with the sound of and instead listen to these Ennio Morricone themes "The Ecstasy of Gold" - Theme from "For A Few Dollars More" and possibly theme from " The Good, The Bad and The Ugly"

I just watched another video made in Big Bend NP by Videus Maximus and it was horrible. I really needed yours to cleans my mind. Thank you. Your video was wonderful.
This place forever changed me...words don't describe what I felt there.
My wife and I made our first pilgrimage to Big Bend in September 2017 and fell in love with the park and surrounding area. It felt good to be at such a remote place. We'll be back.
Beautiful!! Nature and Sigur Ros, always a wonderful combination. This park is definitely on my list.

Perfectly worded!
In a way I want to thank you. It's people like you who share the same love for places and music that tell me these things that I live for in life.
This is my "Calgon"! It takes me away when I miss Big Bend! Thanks for making and sharing this video! Awesome!

Yeah bb ranch belonged to my wifes great grandfather until its was taken away by the gov.
My favorite place on earth. It restores my soul.

Great video, having visited Big Bend more than 80 times, memories were invoked of many amazing places, now I need to visit Big Bend again.
Was there last summer. Absolutely beautiful! From the Chisos mountains and the South Rim to Santa Elena Canyon. Black bears and javelinas.
Remarkable place. My favorite thing in the world to do is kayak the Rio Grande and camp on the river bank. It is truly spectacular. Living in West Texas has it's perks for sure.

Damn, I miss West Texas. This brought me home for a few minutes. Thanks.
An incredible place of beauty. Good movie. Thanks.
Beautiful, beautiful video. You showcased my favorite place in the whole world in an incredibly lovely way....thank you!
I got excited when I heard the music starting, I knew it was Sigur Ros! I am going to be there in 3 weeks I can't wait!

Very nicely done! That's my younger days backyard! Just beautiful!
I'm going there next month. Now I want to go more! Nice video.
Astounding, mind blowing, amazing and all the other synonyms for these words describe my feelings for this place. Greetings from India.
nature + sigur ros = bliss
cant believe you shot so much cool video in only three days........very nice job.
You captured quite a lot of the park in 3 days. Good job.

Cindy you will not regret the long ride from AL to Bing Bend. Try the Cattail falls trail.... just beautiful!!!
I play Sigur Ros music every time I'm in Big Bend! It seems appropriate somehow.
I want all these parks expanded!..I saw a map one day and tried to find Yellowstone park and I noticed a tiny thing smaller than a postage stamp! That is the "famous" Yellowstone. Cow pasture held in reserve and you all know it!
seeing this video is the reason I went to big bend and seen something that can warm a heart great vid I hope to see more from you soon
Beautiful
Magnifique vidéo , nous y seront en mai 2012 .michael
Beautiful!!!
I'm going there in 2 weeks!
Great video, raw & beautiful.
Beautiful place. Please, no giant walls along this sacred park space. That would be a devastating obstruction.
I had a tear :)
Muy bonita experiencia
Very nice.

Just got back from here! South Rim was amazing!
Do you have any other videos of Big Bend? Excellent video and vocal.
Tks
ok, guys, its only beautiful here ehen its about 11:30 out here, because its a moonglow sand color, not bland brown/tan
Dang, man, I get so many job orders everyday, I can't remember! Is there anything out of the ordinary that went down that I might remember?
Thanks so much Xezmer! At the 4:00 mark I was simply in my friends SUV with the camera out the window. BTW, what does that last part mean, I don't get it.
YES
what program did you use to put together the clips of your trip. Awesome video. Thanks!

I wanna visit it
Is there any tour guide there?
hey kelybal, u ever make it on the river?
Can you change the settings to allow viewing on mobile devices?
@LV Agorist dude, its viewable on my sucky pantech, all u have to do is click the picture, not the "watch video" button.
UFO at 1:56 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Isle royale is less visited...
Great video, but I've gotta say, that music was just a tad bit obnoxious...
What’s with the man made music? Let nature provide the sound in the video 👎🏻
Unwatchable - ridiculous background music
Whack music.
I just watched another video made in Big Bend NP by Videus Maximus and it was horrible. I really needed yours to cleans my mind. Thank you. Your video was wonderful.
Amazing ! What camera did you used for the film?
