I despise 5 strings, but used to have to cart one around... that is until I got a Digitech Drop! Then came Helix and although the DT pedal was better, the pitch shift in Helix was good enough. The QC seems to track at -5 pretty well! Another check in the plus column for Neural DSP!
@@erikarko thanks, mate! On my LT, I’m doing a pseudo Royal Blood thing where I’m using the Poly capo and the original pitch shifter to get power chords, but it sounds like garbage if I do anything beyond 5ths on the bass itself! Cheers!
Hi! Great video! I'd like to know how long it can hold the note with the pitch ... Sometimes, with the hx stomp, artifacts are created if the note is too long.
I have a question Erik. If you upload the capture you made of your Suncoast BC-3 to the Neural Cloud... Can I download it on my Quad Cortex and use your capture?? I don't have one right now (of course, it is not out to the public yet), but I'm really considering it.
Hey, one of my purchasing decisions is based on how well the pitch shifting works below B standard - i.e. pitch shifting a 5 string from B standard down to F# standard. Any chance you could test this out? It was great to see it working really well on E to B, lower than that I wasn't too keen on, but it could be different starting at B
I did this quick snippet for a friend of mine - it’s only from drop A to (I think) Ab, but as you can tell the tracking is really good :) www.dropbox.com/s/uugebgrgeoj4iay/pitch%20down%20.wav?dl=0
@@erikarko Yep, thanks. I'm an idiot. You have to DOWNLOAD the IRs first from the cloud via the DIRECTORY. I thought that the dialog that opens when you edit a cab is the directory. But you have to tap on the title of the current patch to open the directory. Now everything is working fine.
That pitchshift and drop function… so handy and… GAS!
That pitch shifter is so cool!
Yes!!
Thabks for showing the pitch shifter… bro I want this kind of sort of man
👍👍👍
Thanks for the video. Very much considering getting one of these.

Encoder knob footswitchs are friggin kewl!!!!
Save often !!!
Thanks for your video man, excellent stuff
Thanks!!
Thank you for doing this. I am sold.

Oh I just bought Digitech DROP at a bargain price, but it seems I might sell this after getting the QC...It's too nice!
Thanks so much for doing this. The pitch shifting sounded pretty good. Did you notice any issues with tracking or latency at any stages at all?
Nope. It’s REALLY low in terms of latency imho
@@erikarko this was what I was afraid of! Ok I think I’m sold!!
@@Bluebear2016 Haha great to hear! :)
Pitch shifting seems to work well; doesn't get too muddy - lookin' good.
Agreed!
Also, I’d like to see a capture of the EBS Billy Sheehan Drive pedal. That might be cool to see!
I’ll see what I can do! :)
@@erikarko yeeeeeees you should do that haha.

Hey Erik! Is the pitchshifting polyphonic? Does it handle chords well?
There IS a polyphonic octaver available - the pitch shifter isn’t “explicitly” polyphonic, although it does handle bass chords pretty darn well IMHO!

@@the1trueporkchop Ah. I’ve done a few Royal Blood-esque presets on the QC and honestly they’ve worked out pretty darn great!

Haven’t put that to the test properly, but I can’t say that I’ve thought of any artefacts etc appearing when holding a note, so to speak :)

The captures sound the same for me

@@erikarko Thanks for the super quick response! Sounds great, I think I'll be getting a Quad Cortex over another bass guitar at some point! :D
@@AlexDiru Sweet!! 🤘🤘🤘
Which format do your IRs have? Whatever I upload to the cloud, the list is always empty.
.wav format :)
@@erikarko Thanks, but that was clear. I meant 200 or 500ms, 44 or 96khz.
@@fraenkiboii Ah! Sorry! I think I have both variants and they all work.

@@fraenkiboii Glad to hear!!
Do you know if there is a way to transfer the IRs that come with the Darkglass Suite over to the Quad Cortex?
Sadly no idea :/
With the pitch shifter, can you say go from E standard to Drop D with a click? Or is it limited to shifting the tuning of every string at once?
Every string. Only the Variax bass (when used along with the Pod/Helix line) can do what you asked for, sadly :/
How fo you import IR's?
Through the cloud and your web browser :)
@@erikarko Thanks!
Which midi mode on harley benton mp 100 works best?
Custom :)
Yep dats great and awesome but the price is to high. To expensive for me:///
Dude. Anyone looking to save money on strings doesn't play bass. Or maybe they do. Lol
Hahaha true!! 😂😂😂😂
