Why do we call captured Israeli soldiers "hostages" rather than "prisoners of war"? We do not call the Ukrainian soldiers captured by Russia as "hostages". These women IDF members as well as their male counterparts are POWs, not hostages.
Well that's a good question, but I think it's highlighting the fact that most know this is not a war. There is an occupied territory being terrorized by the occupiers.
Very good question.
Hostages basically is a sub-set of POW, with the only difference being that a hostage is taken to gain leverage at a later date.
Because Hamas captured mostly civilians not soldiers on October 7th.
@@geraldvance7925 Your wrong. Most were soldiers and reservist.
Robby Soave can say it doesn't matter what was being said but it did matter enough for them to lie about it and that should count for something if he was not being disingenuous.

"OH BUT HAMAS" is his only reaction to Israel war crimes, lies and foreign interference. He's a tool of AIPAC.
Don't yo mean Bri being completely ignorant of the history of warfare, as well as cherry picking the rules of ground warfare.
As usual, bri is intentionally biased. To be so willfully ignorant and whipping her eye lashes at 200bpm in disgust of this prRopAgaNda... is just sad honestly
If you call yourself a journalist; the truth should matter to you. If Robby, could care less about the veracity of the story, then why should anyone take him seriously as a professional? Burying your head in the sand when you don't like the information is pathetic.
Did you listen to what he said???
Do you not understand that they aren't journalists? Robbie is doing exactly what his job is, to read the teleprompter. Brianna is trying to act like she's a reporter when in reality she's not, their job is to read the teleprompter, not to write what's on the teleprompter.

He's not dismissive, he's just doing his job. They are news anchors, not reporters; he is reading what is in front of him which he is supposed to, but Brianna is pretending to be a reporter and is bringing up things that weren't written by the actual reporters.

@@masoncomes6783 My understanding from this report is that the video was subtitled by Israelis, and it is native Arabic speakers who are saying those subtitles are mistranslations. @@terrymcnultyjust to add, I don't disagree with your response to me at all. I'm just talking about the debate itself rather than the contents of the debate.
The way this debate was conducted was not an unbiased and fair debate, I don't fault Robbie for being unprepared because no one told him it would be happening and I doubt he spends his free time researching this topic specifically like Brianna.
@@masoncomes6783 How do you know any of that? You're saying, “In all likelihood,” so in all likelihood you're speculating based in your own biases. Are you a reporter?
Robi is a disgrace to journalism
Excellent example by bri of the 'mademoiselle' context, that's exactly how they went about mistranslating it. And then the next question is why do that? Similar to other examples of misdirection.
So what’s Robby’s function here other than not care less. ? AND Sabeah means youthful lady.
One small note to add Brianna, soldiers are not hostages, they're POW.
Also, I'm sort of convinced that the Palestinan fighter only took civilians as well because 1. Last times Palestinan took soldiers as POW, to bargain for something, the Zionists outright killed them all.
And 2. If you followed the events on that day, the resistance fighters were shocked of how little military resistance they faced, at one point, a group forced a soldier to call in HQ and tell them to get reinforcements lol
So it's likely there weren't enough soldiers to takre as prisoners anyway.
This is besides the fact that the IOF mass mudered anyone in sight when the helicopters and tanks arrived anyway.
The Hundred of burned/contorted cars and blown up houses where obviously not from the small arms or occasional grenade the Palestinians had. And also why the Zionist regime said they're burying/disposing of the destroyed cars quickly after (citing BS religious reasons), essentially to destroy the proof.
"MASS Hannibal" they called it and admitted it themselves.
You have to declare war first, not commit a sneak attack. You guys are being ridiculous on this Palestine issue. No point in even arguing about it. I understand why Robbie doesn’t feel the need to even argue about this
I understand Arabic. Sabaya سبايا means female prisoner of war (strictly captured in war) in archaic Arabic. It could imply slavery in the archaic context (all captured prisoners of war whether male or female are automatically made slaves in all civilization) are Never EVER heard someone thinking Sabaya means pregnant or even close to that!!!!
Propaganda is bankrupt and now has to lie big time.
Robbie is obviously beyond tired of the entire Israel/Palestine topic and it’s obvious. While this is a direct topic of discussion, in his defense, Palestine gets thrown into other topics that are completely unrelated and yea that’s getting tiring. You could have a conversation about McDonalds and somehow Palestinians or Israel will make an appearance in the conversation.
Many others feel the same way
I think for many people Iz/Pal is a gateway topic. It feeds into and is fed by broader issues. Look at it in any depth and by definition you’re learning more about the MIC; the role of powerful lobby groups in our so-called democracy; the differential handling of free speech issues; the neo-liberal funding structures of our universities, even public ones; the evolution of post-WWII international law and colonial histories, and so on. Bri is by political proclivity interested in all of these issues. You say she brings Iz/Pal into every topic. I think she brings every topic into Iz/Pal and that's a useful thing.
Shame on the guest for his bias 🤮
If that's the biggest problem let's pretend that sabiyah means "beautiful respectable girl" and give them the Nobel for Peace 🕊️ . . . .
When Bri says, "violently resist" I don't think she realizes that is not what is happening. The right to resist does not give permission to take hostages, it is specifically criminalized.
If one side doesn't go around by the rules, violates every international law ,dont respect the international bodies ,their PM trashes them on TV , challenge their orders and threatening the heads of the international law keepers to sanction them openly then why the other side should follow these laws ???
Now I know why she was recently fired
They keep trying to sell lies we keep debunking and losing trust and empathy for them more and more
Nonsense Robbie! If you spoke Arabic you wouldn’t be able to be dishonest that way
Really want to know why this guy works as journalists
Robby combines willful ignorance and smugness in such a punchable way
ROBBIE GO TO BEN SHAPIRO YOU CAN FILL CANDACE HER PLEACE
Wait didn't Robbie just freak out about getting the facts right? When it comes to his homeboy trump, we need the truth and facts checked, otherwise he doesn't care. Nice standards
Who is paying her and how much? To spew such idiocy. SMH.
Robby confuses a pencil-tapping smirk with an argument.
He is grossed out that his partner is so cracked
I like news that gives informed perspectives from both sides. Robbie is like a human piñata that Brie has to beat on for anything of substance to come out.
All these people complaining that the definition is wrong, yet say nothing about the actions in the video. Disgusting and morally pathetic.
Because it's the new "40 beheaded babies".
Not sure what the purpose of a discussion is when one of the participants does not want to participate. The topic would have been better presented as a monologue by the Hill's producers. What we are left with is second rate, unprofessional entertainment. Yes indeed the American empire is in decline.
