Sometimes I think military service and even prisons are replacing the rites of passage of old; because as a veteran who knows a few reformed convicts, these are the best, most productive and dare I say the best role models of my community. These weak boys growing up sadly have no good role models to look up to and haven't been put to the test, so they can see if they have it in them to be the leaders we need today. Thanks, JD, for acknowledging your past, growing past your mistakes while keeping that mentality and discipline in you.
I think it's because certain areas attract the alphas. They attract the men who still want to be men. The only difference between those who've been to prison and those who haven't is that some got caught. Most guys worth a shit have done something at some point that would put them behind bars. Some just got caught. Got to learn from those mistakes.
The military not so much anymore. Bunch of woke phigguts in there now. used to be the military would set a man on the proper path, but the days of chivalry are long gone it appears.

Mad respect for discussing the history. The pain caused to our people was unbelievable, and some people still think St Patrick's day is a happy day 🙄 the "snakes" were the Irish druids, the religion at the time that conflicted with the rigid beliefs of the Christian church. So those that didn't convert were killed or "driven out".
As an actual Irish person born and raised in Ireland usually we think people born in América who say they are Irish no matter their genetics we never would consider you Irish. For us its not really your genetics its more cultural and if you are born and raised in America it makes you American even if you grow up in Irish American neighbour hoods. Like for example a really good friend of mine was born in England and moved to Ireland when he was 6 but he grew up in Ireland and understands the culture , the slang and gets the "craic" but when this prison lad started talking about the History it gave me a little more respect for Irish Americans.
I'm American living in Ireland (Married an Irish woman) and have tried so hard to explain this shit to other Americans. I've warned them not to claim anything but American when talking to an actual Irish person because it makes them look stupid and Irish people are tired of hearing every other American say "I'm Irish". People just don't get it. I think it's related to our country being so new and immigrants used to stick to their own. They aren't trying to claim nationality but more so their descendants. All Americans other than the natives came from somewhere else in the last 200 years or so. It's an American phenomenon that not many other countries share. So there is confusion on both sides. I've lived in Ireland long enough though that when I hear another American say they are Irish, all I can do is cringe with second hand embarrassment. Your man might know a decent amount since there's a lot of time to read in prison but most can't find it on a map, name any of the counties, etc. I totally see why it gets under the skin of actual Irish people. Even reading the comments has me embarrassed on others behalf.
@@Spazticmonkey1000 unless you go to school in Ireland and grow up there your not Irish, I have 2 kids 3 and 6 months old they have never lived in Ireland so they can't be called Irish and I wouldn't call them Irish. Absolute respect brother! Reminds me of a funny thing when I served a baby stint for distribution of pyschs. I am a proud Celt, and proud Norse. Not because we are some bullshit "master race," but because i honor my ancestors and their traditions. As a result, I met a guy with a book on Nordic traditions, borrowed it to learn the runes of my people. He had respect for me because I worked at a bookstore that sold herbs (like chamomile and other medicines) and books on alternative faiths. One day another white bro walked over and asked what it was about, and I told him "these are runes, a form of writing for the Nordic people, with each rune being full f meaning." He said - "hold up... is that some white supremecy shit?" At the same time, my dude and I responded... me "Hell no!" And the guy who lent me the book said "well yeah, master race bro." After that, I was told, with all respect, that maybe I should sit at the table the "weird whites," mostly old heads and quiet guys (which is cool, I'm a hippie and a herbalist... I fight for my community to heal, thats it.) That said, I only have love for you and our people, we would have been cool on the inside haha.
Damnnn they took away contact visits for 2 yrs over one dirty UA?? That’s insane. The nerve of these prisons to be that strict when they are anything but strict on themselves and the way they run shid.
Love this dude. Didn't know he was Irish. As an Irishman I'm fascinated that there's an Irish prison gang. Is that right? I rewinded it a couple of times but couldn't hear the name of it. Did I miss it? Great to know that he learned about Irish history and the relationship between the Irish and other immigrants. It's been like that all over. In the UK in the 50s - boarding houses would have signs saying 'No Blacks, No Irish, No Dogs'. You'll find that the black community has a lot of time for the Irish, and vice-versa.

Pretty sure he means “oy vey” which is a Jewish saying, or exclamation. White supremacists use it in a disrespectful way, to identify one another in their shared hatred of Jews. At least that’s how it is out on the street. If he meant something different by it, I’d love to know what it means too. I spent about a year from 2018-2019 paying close attention to the fringe right/white nationalist movement because I wanted to know the truth. They almost got me, I’m not gonna lie, but I still don’t regret that learning experience. I just wasn’t down with all the hate.
"you got heart like a muthafker yo" in other words, he crapped himself, gave them what they wanted then learned over time and changed his narritive to fit a "convict" perspective

I questioned your ties and withheld subscribing to your chanel. Been in the oregon system a couple times, been in the Washington system, and even did some time in Nebraska. Out doing good clean sober living my best life since 2017 this videos here earned my subscribing to you.
How many blacks are usually in Oregon prisons? How is it being in Oregon prison?
@Heartless Food used to be pretty good, otherwise Oregon system sucks in most every way. Black people everywhere, Oregon included.
We're you in Clallam Bay, in WA?
@M. Wheeler No, been to Shelton, been to coyote ridge, and walla walla.
You should do a video explaining more of the Irish culture and heritage. My father was teaching me bits an pieces but theres noone I trust to learn more from. An itd be awesome to learn from you
I 💚 Yo Irish History Lesson‼️...I Belive Green, Brown, Red & Black Should Bang Out 2gether❗️.
Love your videos bro.... Been there, been through it.... You speak facts!
One of the few dudes from Cali that id happily welcome to Texas ❤️💪🤝
@@Dead_Again1313 Appreciate the comment brother. It's not about denying ancestry of disrepect. Wishing your family well
I love our home and I just want to be recognized as one of you it’s what my grandmother would have wanted..
@@Spazticmonkey1000 unless you go to school in Ireland and grow up there your not Irish, I have 2 kids 3 and 6 months old they have never lived in Ireland so they can't be called Irish and I wouldn't call them Irish. My oldest goes to school in other country so that's her nationality and culture, unless we were to move country and she grows up there I would never consider her Irish or insert the word Irish before her nationality, also she only understands English and doesn't speak it let alone speaks Irish
@@gdxdesigns1310 I literally study your culture and tattoo it all over my body, I have your DNa and I love Ireland just as much as you do what do you want? What checklist do I need to fill out ? I don’t understand I just want acceptance it’s not my fault my ancestors left there for here I try so hard just to be rejected
You were probably locked up with my girls father who was in ABH, you guys are both out, clean and lives changed! Proud of you both
J, d, you wouldn't be the man that you are now unless you were the man. You were then and you may still the same principal stand I appreciate respect you for all that you've done and all that you do now. Thank you so much for keeping out for being out here. And keeping it 100 keeping it a book. Or anybody wants to say thank you so much. I'm gonna fix income, but I'm trying to switch channel. The best way that I can besides comments throw whatever you know left over dollars. I got at the end of the month. That way, I know it aint much man. But I really appreciate what you do for the community and words can describe my appreciation for you and all your efforts and all the people connected to you connected to us. And I really appreciate all of you for that God speed. Keep moving forward.
My dude! From one level 4 convict to another. I've never in my life have I never heard better and more honest advice in my life! Even though I'm from PA. Everything you say is nothing but facts and you've given the best guidance I have ever heard in regards to standing for yourself and staying in your own lane at the same time!! Please continue to educate and explain to the fng's how to live safely, show respect and keep their own respect at the same time!! I'm sure that you've saved a life or two without even knowing by making your videos. I just want to say thank you for being honest with everyone! I have crazy respect and love for your words my dude!!
Respectfully Joshua Winslowqf3341
Nice one m8 I'm liking the Irish I am 100% Irish from kilkenny in Ireland and just jumped on ur channel n gotta say i love ur content m8 so thank you for mentioning ur Irish, love it gotta keep it 100
Every single video I watch I gain more respect for you, one in million don't even come close, big love bro, I'd love to chill with you
Absolute respect brother!
Proud to be descended from the Irish clan Doyal ❤❤🍀🍀🍀🍀
Best prison channel.
😊👍🇨🇦
💯💯💯
Crush on female cos
Love JD he a real OG RESPECT
Love this dude. Didn't know he was Irish. As an Irishman I'm fascinated that there's an Irish prison gang. Is that right? I rewinded it a couple of times but couldn't hear the name of it. Did I miss it? Great to know that he learned about Irish history and the relationship between the Irish and other immigrants. It's been like that all over. In the UK in the 50s - boarding houses would have signs saying 'No Blacks, No Irish, No Dogs'. You'll find that the black community has a lot of time for the Irish, and vice-versa.
I totally respect this video, it was solid as they come, and pride is a bitch for alot of people, and it will get them jammed up in a heart beat. I'm digging your videos more and more W/R ✌
I dig your storys man, First video I seen was about you meeting The Deftones. Im in a band from Stockton CA so I knew Chi Cheng's Brother Ming, and sister Mae. anyways, Im also Mexican and Irish so I liked this last video here. Keep up the good content. One other thing are you on the vocals for your jingle? Peace.
Only if everyone were as REAL as you. Keep talking, your circle is making a BIG DIFFERENCE. 🙃❤
This dude speaks so many facts. It's hard to keep track.
I respect your heritage, I am a Scottish bagpiper, and many of my closest friends are Irish. My Grandfather always told me if you are ever in a place in your life when you need a friend, find an Irishman.
In Maryland intake is 23 and1" it sucks and your right no commissary until prison
Mad respect from all the Mexicanos to our Irish brethren! Erin Go bragh
Go raith maith agat my bro 🇮🇪
Made me proud being half Irish today. Irish are know to be tough.
Good to remember
Its so cool going through your old stuff 🤟
Lol glad u mentioned we are all descendants of ancient Irish High Kings. If anyone is bored they can look my last name up. Very interesting.
Thanks for sharing some of your own personal history. I really liked that you mentioned the great potato famine and the bond of the Irish and the Native Americans. They explain some of the horrors of the famine, in a remarkable way. Here's the link

Again, thanks for the upload today. Love Melbourne Australia 🙏🌏💙
Southern prisons must be completely different everyone was segregated ,met people that were never racist but had to get down to survive decent .
great vid loved it nice work
Thanks Family!
I’m glad I found you on the fb reels. Good shit.
im a scots-irish american and i love your channel and your values man
So you're british descent then, scots-irish = ulster scots who are the brits ''occupying'' northern ireland. I hope youre not trying to join up with the IRA?
MANY american scotch irish/ulster scots dont know that they're british planters and support irish independence movements because its trendy. If you're scots irish you have no irish in you, unless you mean you have scottish and irish descent, in which case you're not an scots-irish american.
I'm Mexican and I have a ton of Irish friends and they always treat me with a lot of love and respect. I fuck with you peoples heavy. Y'all always invited to the carne asada. Bring a bottle of your finest Irish whiskey
I love the content, but music is very very overwhelmind, is there an option in which you reduce it a bit? can't hear some words sometimes, but overall big fan
yo, came for the story stayed for the knowledge.
I have always been the same way lol long red hair and beard. Irish to the fullest. Proud of where we came from
💯 Solid dude how you embraced your Irish background and was NOT with that BS much Respect
I rolled independent the whole time. I was locked up in feds
As someone who half Irish half Mexican the culture really do blend 😂
I think it's very cool that you have all this life experience, some bad times sure but you have a positive outlook that inspires me to be better, you are actually helping me with my current struggles, and I just want to say thank you for that, mass respect sir! I like that you follow the golden rule of you be cool with me I'll be cool with you, because let's face it you could fubar a dude in a second.
Man you tall af, wish I was 6'4😂love yo content keep doin yo thang
its good to hear someone knows somthin bout irish heritage
For real though; where'd you get that shirt? I'd rock it in a heartbeat.
Hey JD, love your content bro. Thank you for all you do. I was curious if you or anyone else can fill me in on the "ooh eee vey" reference? Also a fellow Irishman, only half but my people came here in 1810 & settled in Tennessee where the land is still in my family.
I stand with the Irish. I'm Palestinian we got the same struggle going on. I love Ireland!
My dude you should write a book on business, and an autobiography. If you're interested in such a thing hit me up.
There is a reason why 100 years ago all NY cops were Irish. It's because the Irish gangs enforced the law in New York. THE NYPD was born from Irish gangs.
The Irish history stuff was my fav part of the video
🤣 You just basically described single parenthood...you have to be a fair and just "shotcaller".
The irish famine was why my 4x grandparents on my grandmothers side came here
Never learned ny history till i came across you so now im studying the family tree
My first time locked up, because of my ink (harmless personal ink), I got stuffed in a 6 man pod with the people that dont play nice with others. Everyone else in gen pop chilling with TV's playing cards, trading canteen and shit. Meanwhile I'm locked in a pod 23 hours a day with some sketchy dudes.
Best one yet bro
I love being called a colonizer. Means I'm better. I won. And I'd surely win again. My people are the most ingenuitive and powerful in the world
Damn, JD. You ever planning on coming to the homeland? If ya do when I'm bout, you got a room in my gaff
I like these videos where you aren't so amped. This is chill.
cool bro, much respect.
Yes! Nice to always Irish pride on the internet. :) Always standing up in the face of oppression!
Not that it matters but my level of respect for you just went way up.
I am also Irish (and Cuban and Italian lol), have substance use disorder and love punching Nazis in the face. We might have different reasons why lol but that's cool. Love what you do keep being a blessing
Man being Mexican here in Phoenix Arizona my Irish friends are cool AF shit some of them speak better Spanish than some Chicanos I know..🤣🤷🏾♂️👍 they've always open their doors for me as have I. Our cultures vive real good same family values.... and we fucking Drink 🤷🏾♂️🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻 they always tell me "Everybody's Irish on St Patty's" 🍻🍻😎
You know the Iris have the most awesome supper power of all, shagging our way into EVERYONES family tree!
Hey JD, so i am having some issues understanding the difference between respect in prison vs respect on the outside. Because the way you talk about respect sounds like a fighting tone. Is it a thing about words over tone or am i missing something?
I grew up at 5’9” 145-150pounds, I wouldn’t have stood a damn chance in prison Thank God that I didn’t have to deal with that
Never been to prison but there’s so much overlap with the army 😂 reception was definitely my worst experience
You are proper Irish. I respect that.
Saying how this generation all think they’re in a TV show and they are each the star is the perfect metaphor for this new generation. Great use of words my man
Agreed 👍.
I watch your content and I fucc with you my G you keep it real and always 💯 with great advice we appreciate that 💯
Irish pride 💪☘️ great video
English pride, greeting from england there are still more of us.
Bro just pointed out another reason I didn't think of why I don't wanna get locked up, my ass never gonna be able to cop size 15 kicks in there ☠️😂
The irish constitution was in part written by a puertorrican Don Pedro Albizu Campos, much respect! Awesome to see that you are not a white supremacist.
As an Irish/Italian im proud of my heritage and wouldnt trade it for anything!!
10:47 talking about the History..
I think he may have Joined them ☘️🍀
