      Watched 2 minutes of Cowherd’s hot take on the Packers, blaming Rodgers and what not. Couldn’t stand it. Then watched this and wonder how the hell guys like Cowherd are paid attention to when you can see from Warner’s analysis here that it mostly ain’t Rodgers. This is painful to watch!

      @@LiveWorkWander I'm so with you on this. Between him, Skippy and Shannon (who I can't even understand because he has marbles in his mouth) it's pretty much all about just ripping Aaron Rodgers for as many click$ as they can get. The more outlandish, the more $$ they get. It was pretty evident to me that Kurt Warner was just breaking down what a HOF QB is expecting to see. He even said more than once, I don't know what they're running..... But he knows everything about what supposed to be happening, and I felt sorry for AR. It was 34 minutes of the most painful thing I've ever seen. I mean, besides watching the ENTIRE GAME!! Just painful.

      "Amen!" I've watched the NFL since I was knee high to a whipper-snapper, but there is still a lot about the game I don't fully understand. Great to see the game broken down by someone who fully understands the details and can explain them well. Good job Kurt 👍

      @@vcp93 so you just don't like Aaron Rodgers? I just think it's sad to see a 38 year old QB1 who can still sling it, and do all the things mentally, and physically, be so handcuffed, when he should have the WRs he needs. Father time is undefeated, but it's not father time. It's a GM who could've picked up a couple of veteran WRs in the off season. Even after seeing these same WRs struggle in TC and pre-season. Did he really think that ALL IN was just seeing if 3 rooks and Sammy Watkins would be awesome, and Adams, and MVS' absence wouldn't be a problem?

    This is all about coaching. Poor schemes and poor route running. And if it's the receivers failing to follow instructions you need to get a new set of receivers. Even Sammy Watkins is unimpressive. The reason Cooper Kupp gets so many balls thrown at him is that he does what Kurt is talking about. He doesn't allow the defender to force his route and he actively manages what's given him by the defense. Kelce of the Chiefs does this as well. It's not about how fast you are or how high you can jump. If it was they wouldn't call it the Biletnikoff Trophy.

      Agree, plus I think a lot of times with them it is also laziness. It's easier to blame the QB(especially one like rodgers) than to blame the recievers or the whole offense. And what I mean is, they make the assumption that Rodgers should just be able to do everything in the huddle between plays to fix the recievers because he is Rodgers and since it isn't happening he must be too old or high or screwing up in some way, when its just young recievers running terrible routes because they're young and think they know better or just sub-par NFL recievers. A bad team goes bad all over the field. At some point everybody starts to break down. It can start when one or two players make mistakes too often or get beat, or can't beat their guy more than average. Then other guys start thinking that they have to make up for them, or feel the pressure to do their jobs flawlessly every play, and get tentative. And it snowballs. Resentment and frustration with each other and with yourself takes over. Now, I think that the refs have an impact too. This season, illegal contact, which is usually a coin toss kind of call, (when it's called at all) was called against the Packer's receivers earlier in the season, whereas in most seasons prior it was not. Which put doubt in the receivers, minds as to what they will get away with going forward. It killed the T.D. to Tonyan in the Lions game too. Refs, in my opinion tend to call it against receivers without an established reputation as elite or even respected in the league. As was, (is) the case with these receivers.

I have that same gut feeling that the holes and running lanes (or whatever the terminology is) are not there compared to last year. Is this too a WR problem (like the one you showed with the Aaron Jones pitch out for a loss) of not blocking well, or is there something else going on? Again, a very insightful video where I learned a lot about what I didn't know that I didn't know. Thank you, sir.

      The packers typically use the pass to set up the run, getting defenses on their heels and inching back to protect from big passing plays. Since defenses are not worried about that anymore they are playing loaded boxes and being very aggressive. You can see it in the press coverage aswell that defenders have zero respect for basically any of the offensive players.

    I keep seeing people show that play on Twitter where you have the 2 seams and it looks so wide but like you showed if you have other primaries and you get to them first and by the time you get to the next reads there's a bit of pressure anything can happen. There are 2 really bad plays by him this game including that one but overall you can see why he would have trust issues and currently with the added on injuries to this team it may be the worse receiving unit in NFL history let alone the just this season (Titans are up there). How are so many guys falling down, how are so many guys getting beat in press all game long, how many times are players going to get dictated then decide at the very last moment to change their direction off script? You could have an overview like Madden as Rodgers in this offense and still struggle because of the "talent" around him. Great breakdowns Kurt, one of the best to do it.

I know they switched up the offensive system but he looks totally lost out there and even unable to hit the easy check downs.. Would love to get your perspective on what's going wrong.

      Mac is a mediocre QB under the best circumstances, but Matt Patricia has put him in the worst possible position right now, so he looks terrible. I don't know why people are so surprised that the parts of the team Matt Patricia coaches look awful, we knew this was going to happen as soon as he was hired. The receivers don't know what they're doing, the O line can't block, and the opposing teams are literally calling out the plays that Patricia is running, so why would you expect Mac to look good right now?

    Packers GM cost this team a SB or two the last few years, no idea how this guy still has a job. Rodgers has been begging for competent pass catchers besides Adams and they drafted backup QBs, RBs, linebackers, defensive tackles...... never once getting someone who was even an average WR or TE. Awful allocation of resources when you have one of the best QBs of all time, GM seemed to think he was the smartest guy in the room and let his ego get in the way. And for all the investments made on defense, they are average at best and decided to let one of the best pass rushers in the game walk to a division rival. What a disaster this GM has been.

    • @SpikedMocha
      @SpikedMocha 2 роки тому +2

      It's fine if you think the GM is terrible but the weapons were good enough to win back to back MVPs, good enough to average over 2.5 passing TDs a game over the past two years, good enough to be first in scoring in 2020 and top ten in 2021, but all of a sudden not good enough to win in the playoffs? The team won 13 games a year the past two seasons. This year you wanna blame weapons, go for it, tough to argue.
      The WR room Rodgers had last year was enough to win MVP, and then he no-showed in the playoffs (which is overshadowed by a dreadful special teams performance). In 2020 they lost to the Bucs and Rodgers 4th quarter passing (down 5) was two 3 and outs, and a drive where he threw 3 straight incompletions on the Tampa 8 yard line. The playoff losses were on everyone. GM not providing more talent in all three phases (especially special teams), coaches making questionable decisions (especially regarding offensive line construction), and also the QB, who didn't play up to expectations, certainly not anywhere near MVP standards.

      *The GM has as a big EGO yes, but the 50 plus million Rodgers makes is also not helping. More so than anything, the coaching has lost the NFC playoff games the last few years. LaFluer is average coach and 2 straight years he took his foot and Rodgers foot off the gas. After 3 years with these coaches Rodgers became conservative and it’s all coming to a head in 2022. Worst part of it all is the QB has his best Defense since the Woodson championship defense in 2010*

Im amazed at how often Packers receivers are falling down and running bad routes. Some of the picks were just pop up in heavy coverage. Trying to make a play and nobody coming down with it . This kinda highlights Allen Lazard as being at fault of alot of the problems which is kinda unfair. He was an undrafted player for a reason and has been an overachiever his whole career to have gotten to the point he is at now. He has made some great catches like the one highlighted but in terms of speed off the snap, strength to beat press coverage, things like that he falls short because of his significant physical limitations. He is a 3rd probably 4th receiver who is trying to fill the role of a #1. The issue is not the rookies or Lazard, the player who always runs the wrong routes and is being called out by Aaron so publicly is clearly Sammy Watkins... who is easily the most talented of the bunch but seems to be lost on every play.

    It seems like there's a ton of bad decision making on this team. I understand that's a broad term and it doesn't really help, but when you look at the play calling and the utilization next to an analysis like this you've gotta wonder how it's *all* going poorly. Multiple times this year they've been in position to win the game with a score and they end it on multiple incompletions. They have time on the clock, they have multiple downs left, and sometimes they only need one yard. Why with two high end RBs are you still throwing the football to receivers that you know have been ineffective? Just from this Lions game they had 55 seconds, two timeouts, and two receivers injured. Rodgers has been frustrated all day with receivers on the ground and running bad routes and he's thrown three picks. Yet you still try to throw it all four downs. Is it play calling? Is it Rodgers trying to play hero ball? Is it a severe lack of confidence in the running game? I don't know. I don't think it's a lack of talent. It's just insane to me that you'd throw four straight incompletions when you know you've been struggling with your receivers all season and today has been worse than that.
