After a trip to the Cursed Mountains, it's time to head towards the Albanian coast → www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4R-Y...
From Theth we set off towards the Adriatic Sea. After a difficult and winding road, it took us about 2.5 hours, but we finally reached the coast.
The first stop on our route was Tale, a town near the Drin Estuary Nature Reserve. The beach was practically empty, so we easily found a suitable place to camp by the sea itself. Unfortunately, an evening rash of mosquitoes meant that we didn't stay here for long and after a morning swim in the Adriatic Sea we continued on towards Vlora.
The next point on our trip was the city of Kruja, known for the castle towering over the city and the Turkish Bazaar. Walking among the stalls of the Turkish bazaar, we came across many traditional souvenirs and military accoutrements from the communist era.
We then visited the medieval castle of Kruja, which was of great historical and spiritual significance to the Albanians. It was here that Skanderbeg, an Albanian national hero, repelled Ottoman attacks, and the castle remained unconquered, becoming a symbol of resistance to the Ottoman Empire for Albanians.
We continued our journey along the Albanian coast, stopping at various beaches such as Dhermi and Borsh - great places for wild camping in Albania, but rather out of season. However, the best spot turned out to be the one at Nartes Lagoon, where some 3,000 flamingos live, and the sunsets and views of the starry sky are exceptionally beautiful.
We continued on towards the Llogar Pass and this offered breathtaking views of the coast and more beaches. We visited Saranda for a while, discouraged by the crowds, but with the departure from the main towns we ended up at quieter beaches such as Buneci and Kalivoj in Butrint National Park.
The aforementioned Butrint is worth a visit for both its scenic and historical value - there is an archaeological site here.
In the following videos, we will also visit Berat, Gjiokaster and Blue Eye, as well as take a short walk around Tirana. We met friendly people everywhere and were able to enjoy the beautiful Albanian nature and interesting history.
Albania is a great place for wild camping. Accommodation in Albania in the wild, you can also plan for yourself in high season. There will be no major problems with this and the locals are very friendly to tourists.

Polecam odwiedzić ten "dziki" kraj i samemu wyrobić sobie opinię.
